Exhausted and breathless, they finally reached the ruins of a white-marble temple hidden deep within a canyon. This was the Sanctuary of the First Stars. As Elara stepped onto the cracked tiles, the ancient runes on the walls began to glow in harmony with her hand.
"This was your home once," Kaelen whispered, looking around at the fallen statues of kings and queens. "The magic here will hide us for a few hours. You need to learn how to control the pulse before the General arrives."
Elara walked to a basin of shimmering water at the center of the hall. When she touched it, a holographic map of the world appeared, showing seven other crystals hidden across the continents. Her journey was much bigger than she had ever imagined.
