Chapter 28 - Chapter 29: The Silent Rebellion

Jia and Shini were seated at a desk in the classroom, heads bent close together as they discussed notes.

The atmosphere was calm and collaborative, but across the room, Sana watched them, a fierce envy simmering beneath her calm facade.

The sight of Jia so happy, with a genuine friend, was a thorn in her side that she could no longer tolerate.

Flanked by her two closest allies, Sana marched across the classroom and, without warning, slammed her palm down on their desk with a resounding THWACK! The quiet chatter of the classroom died instantly.

Every head turned to watch the confrontation unfolding.

Shini, visibly startled and a bit frightened, spoke up.

"Sana, why are you always harassing us?

What have we ever done to you?"

Sana let out a cruel, sharp laugh, looking down at Shini with utter disdain.

"Shut up, you pathetic girl.

I wasn't talking to you."

Jia felt a flare of protective anger.

She could no longer stand by and watch her friend be insulted.

Rising from her seat for the first time without hesitation, she stood tall and looked Sana straight in the eye.

"If you have something to say, Sana, say it to me. Leave my friend out of this."

Sana's smile faltered, replaced by a flicker of disbelief.

A slow, mocking sneer appeared.

"Excuse me?

You're going to give me an attitude now?"

Sana raised her hand, a look of pure fury on her face, and screamed, "How dare you!"

But before the blow could connect, Jia's hand shot out, her grip like iron, catching Sana's wrist mid-air.

Sana's friends gasped and immediately took a cautious step back.

Sana stared at her captured wrist in pure shock, her composure cracking.

She tried to pull away, her voice strained.

"What... what do you think you're doing?

Have you completely lost your mind?"

Jia twisted Sana's wrist just enough to assert dominance, her gaze icy cold, her voice steady and unwavering.

"I'm not afraid of you anymore, Sana.

Do whatever you want, but don't you ever dare to come after me or my friend again."

With a firm, decisive motion, Jia shoved Sana's hand away.

Sana stood frozen, a mix of astonishment and fear washing over her face.

Jia didn't wait for a reaction.

She linked her arm with Shini's and, with a new-found pride, walked out of the classroom without looking back.
