Chapter 28 - Chapter 29: I Will Go

I am not happy with this.

Just those three words, from the genius of 800 years ago, Nefertari.

The strong feelings in that neat writing seemed to cross time and come right at you.

Rowan looked back at the two silent people behind him, and smiled proudly.

"This guy's writing is good, right?"

After saying that, Rowan folded the page according to the old creases, didn't put it back, and put it in his pocket.

"Now, let's take a look at this draft he's been talking about for so long!"

Rowan waved his hand gently, clearing the dust from the table, and then arranged the papers with a lot of writing on them one by one.

Cobra and Crocodile leaned in and carefully studied the words on the paper.

Rowan noticed Vivi, who was standing to the side.

At that moment, the little princess with blue hair was standing on her toes, trying to read the words with the adults, but she couldn't see because she was too short.

"I, I want to see too!"

Cobra was shocked by the words in front of him, and waved his hand carelessly, "Vivi, don't be silly, these things are too hard for kids to understand."

"Father!"

Vivi pouted, clearly a little anxious.

Suddenly, a voice sounded from the side.

"Cobra, kids know more than you think."

It was Rowan who spoke, and he picked up Vivi and put her on the chair, so she could see the table.

"Besides, she is the princess of Alabasta, and a descendant of Nefertari."

Cobra was good at listening to other's advice and correcting his mistakes.

Hearing this, he looked apologetically at his daughter. He often taught Vivi to care about the people and things around her, but now he was being a typical overprotective dad.

Vivi blinked, indicating that she forgave her dad.

At the same time, Crocodile's voice came over. He had been carefully reading the words on the paper and had noticed many clues.

"Why is the writing on this different?"

Everyone looked at the table and saw that Crocodiles words were right.

In addition to Nefertari's neat writing, there were many different ways of writing on the papers.

They were clearly not from the same person.

Rowan picked up a piece of paper and grinned.

"Hahahaha, those guys knew I was too lazy to have meetings, so they just discussed it on paper!"

Crocodile frowned.

The chaotic information showed that it was only a draft, and some parts even contained obvious contradictions and arguments.

He asked in surprise: "Will this information be useful?"

"We'll know once we sort it out, right?"

Rowan smiled and crooked his finger. The sand on the ground floated up, forming a sand rectangle on the left side of the room, like a blackboard.

Then, Rowan carefully read the words on the table.

Nefertari really understood Rowan. Although the words were messy, they could be divided into two parts.

First, an analysis of the World Government system.

Second, Nefertari's explanation of his proposed "Four Seas Alliance" system.

Many other people's views filled it, either adding to or arguing.

Rowan wiggled his fingers, and sand lines extended from the floating rectangle of sand.

"First, the structure of the World Government."

Sand formed one piece after another, from which a thin line extended, converging on a huge platform.

Rowan explained slowly, referring to the words on the table:

"These pieces are the member states of the World Government, and the size of the pieces means the strength of the country."

"And this huge platform represents the World Government."

Mini sand dunes rose on the platform, connecting the lines and adding sand to them, maintaining their existence.

Rowan continued:

"Communications, troops, resources, transportation... all the essential elements of a country are controlled by the World Government."

Several mini sand people stood up on the platform, some big and some small, occupying the sand dunes.

"The Five Elders, the Celestial Dragons, and even people we don't know control these necessities."

A piece of sand flipped over.

"And once a country tries to break away from the World Government's control, it means..."

A sand person shouted and cut the line connecting to the sand piece.

Then, the sand piece turned into a pile of sand and fell back to the ground.

"Then, that country will lose its foundation in this world and naturally decline."

"The World Government's structure is unbreakable. Once you join and integrate, you can't easily escape, and the country becomes part of the World Government."

"Jointly resist enemies, jointly resist disasters, jointly move forward, that's good, but..."

Rowan turned his finger, and the original appearance of the sand people changed again.

They became bloated, as if they had eaten too much.

"What if the people in high positions are not worthy?"

Upon saying this, the sand people began to compete for the sand dunes on the platform. They refused to let the dunes add sand to the lines, letting the connecting lines between the platform and the pieces become thinner and blurrier.

With a "pop," a line broke.

Then – pop pop pop pop pop…

More and more lines broke, and finally the sand pieces broke away from the platform completely. The platform, which carried many sand people and dunes, collapsed instantly, and everything was gone.

"That is the World Government."

Rowan snapped his fingers and created another sand rectangle.

"As for the Four Seas Alliance envisioned by Nefertari..."

The sand pieces representing the countries reappeared, stretching out lines as before.

But this time, there was no platform as the end point, and they began to connect randomly.

At first, these lines were connected chaotically and disorderly, and some would even be tangled together, fighting each other.

But over time, these lines gradually found a pattern and began to cooperate in an orderly manner.

After the platform was gone, one sand dune after another rose on the pieces, and through the sand lines, each sent the sand they lacked to others.

Cobra observed carefully for a moment, then shook his head.

"This isn't very reasonable."

Although he didn't want to question his family ancestor Nefertari's idea, that was Cobra's personality.

"The 'world connection' completed without the World Government platform seems better, but it's not stable."

After thinking it over, Cobra shook his head. "Relying on each country's awareness to complete exchanges and resource replacements to achieve an alliance, it's too ideal."

But to Cobra's surprise, Rowan nodded.

"Indeed, you make a good point, because I think so too."

Then, he picked up one of the pages with handwriting different from Nefertari's.

"Nefertari and the others also had heated discussions on this issue, but in the end, there was no conclusion and they could only record it."

Cobra froze. "Our ancestor, are you saying…"

Rowan said slowly, "The Four Seas Alliance is just a 'prototype'."

"How to achieve it, how to complete it, how to build it, what the effect will be... everything is unknown."

He picked up the papers on the table and sighed helplessly.

"Nefertari left us with a big problem, didn't he?"

Hearing this, Cobra also nodded and began to observe the different structures of Four Seas Alliance and World Government.

But just then, he suddenly noticed that his daughter raised her hand.

"Hm?"

Cobra and Rowan were curious, motioning for Vivi to speak.

Vivi pointed to the diagram of the Four Seas Alliance and said excitedly: "Ancestor, Father, if the world becomes like that, it feels like it will be much smaller!"

As soon as these words came out, the room fell silent.

Vivi thought she had said something wrong and couldn't help lowering her head.

But then, she heard Rowan's hearty laughter.

"Hahahaha, Cobra, I told you, a child can understand things just as well as we can!"

...

At dusk.

Cobra was alone in the secret room, arranging for Igaram to sort out the items left by his family ancestor Nefertari.

These were precious historical documents, that Cobra would sort and store in the Alabasta library.

On the other side.

Vivi and Crocodile were standing on the city walls of the palace, looking at the desert in the distance.

Why were they standing together?

Because they wanted to see a person.

Ryan Rowan.

After leaving the secret room, he said he was going for a walk and left the palace alone.

Crocodile and Vivi were curious about where Rowan was going.

They climbed the city wall and watched Rowan leave the palace gate and come to the desert outside Alubarna.

Rowan walked toward the setting sun.

The desert wind blew the ribbons on his body.

Sand gradually rose.

Layers of sand floated around Rowan, but not as violent as during battle, but with a strange gentleness.

A sand figure slowly formed beside Rowan.

It was not a sand soldier, but a young man in a robe, wearing glasses, and holding a few books in his hand.

Rowan smiled without looking back.

"You're here?"

Then, more sand began to surge, gathering into one figure after another, appearing beside Rowan.

Their appearance was different.

Male, female.

Fat, thin, tall, short…

Handsome or aged…

Among them were Fish-Men, Long-Arm Tribe, Long-Leg Tribe, and some strange people of unidentifiable races.

There was even a giant!

More and more people appeared beside Rowan.

Except that their bodies were made of sand, every detail on their bodies was so exquisite that it was unbelievable.

Clothing, hairstyle, body shape were all perfect.

If you looked closely, you could even see the patterns on the small ornaments!

Rowan stepped forward, with the people following him.

Not many, but there were more than a dozen.

Even though their steps and actions were different, they perfectly kept up with Rowan's pace.

Rowan smiled and looked at the young man with glasses holding a book beside him.

"Nefertari..."

Then, he turned his head and looked at each person, naming them off, one after another.

Those names that Rowan was very familiar with –

"Keane, Ellis, Cheng, Ian, Muro, Ackley..."

Rowan kept moving forward, he turned his body backwards, and walked backwards for a while, to make sure to see everyone following him.

Until he finished speaking the last name.

"...Camilla."

Rowan remembered them all.

He turned around, no longer looking at them, and continued forward.

Muttering:

"Seriously, it's been eight hundred years since I died, why did you have to wake me up..."

"Hehehe... Hahahaha!"

Rowan said, and couldn't help laughing.

"You guys!"

"You're really a bunch of troublemakers!"

"Especially you, Nefertari!"

As Rowan moved forward, one sand figure after another began to disappear, starting from the outer circle.

One person disappeared with each step.

As they disappeared, they were still looking at Rowan, doing their most familiar actions.

The girl named Camilla waved to Rowan, motioning him to look at the little flower she picked;

The giant knocked on his chest;

The boy Ian smiled brightly;

Muro made a signature shooting pose;

The tall Keane raised his chin and looked at the sky;

After a while, only "Nefertari" and Rowan remained.

Rowan was still smiling as he moved forward.

From laughing loudly to covering his face with a helpless wry smile.

Nefertari's figure began to blur.

He could no longer keep up with Rowan's pace. He stopped in place, and the sand that made up his body gradually dissipated.

Rowan clenched the staff in his hand, but he didn't look back.

Nefertari seemed satisfied with Rowan's choice. He stood in place, raised his right hand, and waved it gently.

Swish…

Scattered without a trace in the wind.

Now, only Rowan was continuing to walk in the direction of the setting sun.

He walked up to a high sand dune, looked up at the dazzling scarlet sun in the desert.

"I'm awake."

"But you're all gone!"

Rowan stood alone and placed the staff on the ground, slowly saying:

"So, what we didn't finish back then..."

After a moment of silence, he opened his mouth.

"I'll do it."

Calm, firm.

Undeniable.
