Rona
My ears rung as a loud voice boomed through the hall.
"Lord Alaric, Herald Of The Fates, Bearer Of Good News."
The Fates. The beings who held the entire realm in the palm of their hands.
I strained my eyes towards the entrance, but there was only so much I could see with Kethan's arms strangling the life out of me.
A bright flash of white and gold. His robes flowed on the ground like water.
One by one, everybody in the hall lowered their head. Some even dropped on their knees.
Just how powerful where these people?
My eyes strained back to Morvane. His eyes seemed to trace every step Alaric took with an eerie chillness.
For the first time since I had seen him, Morvane looked serious.
I turned back to the cause of the sudden calm, Lord Alaric. I expected someone that looked more... dangerous.
He stood at the centre of the hall, lifting a sceptre to the ceiling.
A soft, melodious voice permeated the air. "I crown this banquet in the name of the Three Fates."
The herald scanned through the crowd for a brief moment before his gaze rested on the doors.
The doors, they were wide open and that only happens if someone was about to walk through.
I heard it again, The loud voice that echoed through the hall.
"Lord Myrrha, Herald Of The Three Fates, Harbinger Of Light."
A woman walked through, she was not like anything I have ever seen.
Draped in the very robes the first herald wore, but, a silver crown laid on her stark white hair.
The crown was enough to tell me that she was the one the room feared. Her presence was commanding and I felt my knees buckle at the sheer power of her presence.
I would've crumpled to the ground if Kethan hadn't held me.
His eyes landed on me. No, it landed on the god behind me.
He strode towards, his steps were slow and deliberate. Then, I realised something drastic.
We were the only ones who hadn't bowed. I was the only mortal who didn't bow.
My face paled as the temperature around us dropped. I felt a gentle tug as Kethan pulled me behind him.
I took a deep breath, It was going to be okay. What's the worst that could happen?
Famous last words.
Everyone claps but Kethan stares daggers at her. Arms around Rona tightening. The male approaches him and Tamil instantly stands alert, hands on his sword.
Kethan tells him to stand down, so he does.
The man greeets him, he's smiling. One that doesn't reach his eyes. As if on queue. The woman follows shortly after snd stares at Rona behind kethan.
"So this is her." She reaches out. "Come child."
A shockwave erupt through the hall, blowing her hand back. Somebody used magic.
