Chapter 56 - Chapter 56: Black Blade Yoru

Vision-Vision Fruit?

Vane remembered this as a fruit whose appearance he had already seen before he transmigrated; its shape looked more like a glowing lightbulb in the middle.

This fruit's ability came from the One Piece movie Stampede—it was the power of a female host.

A Vision-Vision Fruit user can project photos, images, and objects they have touched in the form of visions.

It's like a movie projector—and the kind that can project sound as well.

This was clearly a support-type fruit. The visions themselves have no offensive power; they only serve to confuse and intimidate, and they're also easily seen through by Observation Haki.

For combatants, this Devil Fruit ability is obviously not very good.

"Baccarat, do you want it?"

This fruit isn't suitable for combatants, but for a non-combatant like Baccarat, it works just fine. If used well, the vision ability can still provide decent support—and bullying ordinary people would be no problem at all.

Baccarat stared at the Vision-Vision Fruit worth a fortune. As long as she spoke up, the man in front of her would take it down for her. That feeling… that feeling was simply too wonderful.

"I want it~"

Lena, sitting nearby, couldn't help but shudder. What was with this woman's voice? It made her bones feel numb.

The host gave an introduction to the Vision-Vision Fruit's abilities. For ordinary people, this fruit was indeed quite good, but its lack of attack power was a major drawback.

Everyone wants to use a fruit to kill people. This fruit… just felt a bit tasteless.

Still, it was a Devil Fruit after all. With its stated value of at least 100 million, bidding started at 100 million.

"110 million Belly."

"115 million Belly…"

The price rose slowly. Clearly, there was a lot of hesitation surrounding this Devil Fruit. If this fruit were a Logia-type Devil Fruit, Vane had reason to believe that each increase wouldn't be less than 50 million Belly.

No matter which Logia it was—even the weakest and least threatening kind—it would still trigger a frenzy of competition.

Vane only joined in once the bidding slowed down. "160 million Belly."

The previous bid had been 150 million Belly. As soon as Vane made his move, it was that familiar feeling again—an immediate jump of 10 million Belly.

"Damn it! Why is it that guy again? Is he haunting us or what?!"

"How is he so rich? Didn't he just spend over 90 million Belly?!"

Devil Fruits take effect the moment you eat them. This time, no one gave up easily—several parties continued to follow the bids.

When the price reached 190 million Belly, Vane immediately called out 200 million Belly, and the entire venue fell completely silent.

200 million Belly was the limit for the Vision-Vision Fruit. A Paramecia fruit with no attack power was, in others' eyes, not even as good as an ordinary Zoan-type Devil Fruit.

Paramecia fruits are the kind with absurdly high upper limits—and absurdly low lower limits.

In Vane's memory, the most ridiculous Devil Fruit was the Jacket-Jacket Fruit. The person who eats it turns into a jacket, which others can wear. Whoever wears them can then control their body.

It only works in combinations like the Jacket brothers. Anyone else who eats it is just asking for misery.

"200 million Belly, first time! 200 million Belly, second time! 200 million Belly, third time! Sold!"

"Congratulations to our honored guest for winning this Devil Fruit."

"Ladies and gentlemen, we still have one final auction item. This item is extremely rare—more precious than even Devil Fruits themselves. Please wait five minutes."

...

On Vane's side, the staff once again delivered the goods, and Lena handled the payment.

As expected, another Articuno feather was obtained from this fruit. That made four in total now.

"Eat it quickly."

The 200-million-Belly Devil Fruit was brought to Baccarat's mouth.

No one present objected to her eating it. Lena and Meowth were already Devil Fruit users, and Lena's ability had even come from clues provided by Baccarat herself.

Vane had no interest in this fruit whatsoever.

Baccarat imitated Lena from before, taking small bites of the Devil Fruit. The unbearably disgusting taste instantly filled her mouth.

Even though it tasted awful, Baccarat was very happy. That flavor meant the Devil Fruit was genuine.

Baccarat touched the orange on the table with one hand, then opened her other hand. An identical orange projection appeared in her palm.

"So this is the Vision-Vision Fruit—an ability that projects images."

Vane looked at the projection and said, "From now on, develop it in terms of realism and scale. Turn your ability into a massive, ultra-real mirage."

At present, this ability could only strive for realism. Who knew if someday there might be a chance to turn visions into reality and affect the real world?

For example, turning fake fire into real fire with actual heat.

Imagination, after all.

Baccarat memorized Vane's advice. In the future, she would develop her visions toward realism. If they were real enough, they could scare more people. If not real enough, they'd only be good for adding special effects and lighting when she danced.

And honestly, the first use she thought of would already let her dancing shine in any environment. She wouldn't need a stage, because she could create the best stage visuals and lighting herself—and even accompanying herself with music wouldn't be a problem anymore.

Down below, Mr. Auctioneer finally appeared as many people were growing impatient.

Vane's attention had originally been focused on the Vision-Vision Fruit ability, when suddenly he felt a sharp, piercing sensation. The Cursed Sword leaning against the sofa began to vibrate.

In another private room, red-haired Shanks' hand also moved to the Western sword Gryphon at his waist, his expression growing noticeably serious.

"This is our final auction item—a blade excavated from the ruins of a kingdom."

The curtain was lifted, revealing a massive cross-shaped hilted sword, as tall as a man, with several gems embedded in the guard.

"This is… Black Blade Yoru!"

Vane recognized it at a glance. It was the saber of the future world's greatest swordsman, Hawk Eyes Mihawk—one of the twelve strongest Supreme Grade blades in existence.

The Supreme Grade blades Vane knew of might include the Twelve Supreme Grade Works, namely:

Hawk Eyes Mihawk's Black Blade Yoru.

Red-haired Shanks' Gryphon.

Whitebeard Newgate's Murakumogiri.

Pirate King Roger's Ace.

Later, Admiral Fujitora's staff sword.

And the First Generation Kitetsu wielded by one of the Five Elders.

The people in this auction house couldn't be certain whether this blade was truly a Supreme Grade blade, but the strange energy contained within it was not something an ordinary swordsman could tame. It was absolutely a rare treasure in this world.
