"They found this scroll," said Kakashi Hatake, holding up the worn leather document. "It was reportedly recovered years ago from the ruins of former Uzushiogakure and stored in the archives ever since."
"It clearly records that during the Warring States Period, the Uzumaki Clan and the Senju Clan joined forces. At a certain location, they used the highest level of sealing techniques from both clans to jointly seal an 'extremely dangerous, uncontrollable weapon that, once unsealed, would bring calamity upon all living beings.'"
Silence fell over the Hokage's Office.
"Uzumaki and Senju… together?" Jiraiya inhaled sharply.
The Uzumaki were peerless in fūinjutsu.
The Senju were titans of the Warring States Period, blessed with immense chakra and vitality.
What kind of "weapon" required both clans at their peak—and their highest-level sealing techniques—to contain?
Tsunade stared at the word weapon on the scroll, fingers tightening unconsciously.
"In the Warring States Period, the Uzumaki and Senju were bound by marriage. Joint operations weren't unusual," said Hiruzen Sarutobi, his pipe now lowered. "But the wording—'calamity upon all living beings'—suggests something beyond ordinary danger."
He paused.
"Could it be… related to something from beyond this world?"
The thought weighed heavily.
"Tsunade-sama," Kakashi said.
Tsunade's decision was immediate.
"Kakashi. Assemble the most elite Anbu squad. You will personally lead it. Use the residual coordinates and geographic descriptions from the scroll to conduct maximum-density covert reconnaissance."
"Observe only. Do not touch. Do not disturb any suspected seals. I want a full report on the current state of that region—and whether there are signs of recent disturbance."
"Yes!" Kakashi vanished instantly via Body Flicker Technique.
Tsunade turned to Hiruzen.
"Review every internal record from the Senju and Uzumaki regarding joint operations in the Warring States Period. Even folklore. Prioritize references to 'special weapons,' 'joint seals,' or 'forbidden entities.'"
"Understood."
Jiraiya frowned.
"And once we find it… what then?"
That was the true question.
Finding something was one matter.
Deciding how to handle it—without knowing its nature—was another.
Tsunade fell silent for a moment.
"First, we confirm what it is. Its sealing condition. The surrounding environment," she said firmly. "We decide afterward."
Jiraiya hesitated.
"If it required both the Uzumaki and Senju at their height to seal it instead of controlling it… that alone proves it's beyond conventional handling."
Before he could finish, Tsunade's eyes flashed.
"Are you questioning my judgment as Hokage?" she snapped.
Jiraiya froze.
"No! Absolutely not! I was just—analyzing possibilities!"
Tsunade exhaled sharply.
"I understand the risk. Until we fully understand what it is, I will not act recklessly. And if intervention becomes unavoidable, we will notify allied nations. This level of threat cannot be borne by Konoha alone."
That answer finally eased Jiraiya's tension.
But before relief could settle—
The door burst open.
An Anbu intelligence officer rushed in, pale and breathless.
"Report! Urgent intelligence!"
He knelt.
"Our surveillance posts across the shinobi world have confirmed the movement of the 'Demon Child'—Karin. She is heading toward the region shown on the Heavenly Screen… the same region where Wangcai is sealed. Her speed is extremely fast."
"…What?!"
All three stood abruptly.
Karin.
Wangcai's sealing site.
The combination was far more immediate—and terrifying—than any ancient weapon.
The Heavenly Screen had shown Wangcai's ability to ignore chakra entirely. Even Naruto and Sasuke at their strongest had struggled.
And Karin—
The red-haired girl who had inherited "Demonic God" power. Unstable. Volatile.
The Heavenly Screen had implied she could command Wangcai—or at least connect with it.
Now she was heading there on her own?
Tsunade's expression darkened.
Moments ago, they debated a sealed ancient weapon.
Now, a mobile, highly unstable disaster was in motion.
"A chakra-devouring 'natural enemy'… combined with a wielder empowered by demonic inheritance…" Hiruzen's voice was dry. "If she truly gains control—even partial control—"
He did not finish the sentence.
He didn't need to.
