Chapter 19 - CHAPTER 19

"Why don't you two go wait somewhere cooler!"

If he wasn't afraid of overstepping his bounds, Phinks would have already waved them away with his hand, showing them the door with a look of obvious disgust.

"Isn't it because we're worried some people don't even know the way and might accidentally lead us into a garbage heap next?"

Uvogin immediately retorted, "And who knows, they might even harbor malicious thoughts and intentions, plotting something shady."

"We are genuinely concerned about Moge's safety!!"

"Is that so?!" Phinks sneered. "I think you're the ones with bad intentions, aren't you? You've followed us all the way to the doorstep!"

"What, is this your house? If trash like you can come here, why can't I?!"

"What did you say?!!"

Seeing the two men about to start fighting again, their eyes blazing with hostility, Feitan and Machi who had clearly dealt with this situation many times before stepped between them.

Very calmly, they separated the two.

"Alright, stop arguing. Come inside."

At that moment, Moge, who had already entered first, called out from inside the house.

Only then did Uvogin and Phinks exchange one last fierce glare before walking in one after the other.

As soon as Phinks stepped inside, he immediately felt that the place was indeed rather cramped.

After all, Moge hadn't been exaggerating. The house was definitely small.

It was barely larger than a simple single-room shack, and with several people inside along with a broken bed and scattered belongings, the space felt even tighter.

But that wasn't the main point.

After Phinks briefly glanced around the room, he and the others soon focused their attention on the new object that had appeared in Moge's hands.

"Those things… are they building blocks?"

Uvogin, being the most direct one present, immediately asked.

"On the surface, this looks like a box of building blocks…"

Moge reached into the box of blocks he had just Invented and took one piece out, weighing it lightly in his hand.

"But this is actually something that can extend the space of a room."

He smiled and placed a small house-shaped block on the floor.

"Extend the space?"

Uvogin subconsciously lifted his head and looked at the ceiling that was already close to touching the top of his head.

"Isn't your place just a single-story shack? It doesn't even have a second floor."

"Don't rush. It will in a moment."

Moge removed the tiny roof from the bungalow-shaped block.

Then he picked up another block that looked like a middle-floor section and placed it between the base and the roof.

After placing the roof back on top, the little model now looked like a two-story house.

"Are you just playing with stacking blocks…"

Uvogin tilted his head.

"It's just a toy. That's not going to change your actual house"

Shhh.

Before he could finish speaking, his clothes were suddenly tugged.

"Huh?!"

Uvogin knew only Machi would tug his clothes like that, so he stopped talking and immediately looked around.

Then "Where did this staircase come from?!!"

Uvogin stared in shock at the staircase that had suddenly appeared in the corner of the room.

Just a moment ago it hadn't been there at all.

Now it stood there as if it had always existed.

What shocked him even more was what the staircase seemed to connect to.

At the top of it, there appeared to be an entirely new level of space.

"How is that possible?!!"

Without hesitation, Uvogin rushed up the staircase.

Then "There really is one?!!"

When he reached the top, he saw with his own eyes the newly added floor.

The space was the same size as the first floor, and the environment even looked cleaner and tidier.

Uvogin suddenly felt as if something was wrong with his eyes and brain.

What he was seeing completely contradicted everything he understood about the world.

The two simply did not match.

"Did it really add a floor?!!"

Naturally, everyone downstairs clearly heard Uvogin shouting.

Phinks smacked his lips and immediately turned his gaze toward the building blocks still in Moge's hand.

There was no doubt about it.

The changes happening in this house were clearly caused by those blocks.

Moge had merely added one layer to the block structure.

Yet the real house had truly gained another floor.

The ability to casually alter reality like this made Phinks feel his mouth go dry.

He subconsciously licked his lips.

His gaze toward Moge became extremely intense.

How could anyone not crave such power?

Machi and Feitan exchanged a brief glance after hearing Uvogin's shout.

Then, without saying a word, the two of them pushed open the door and stepped outside.

"The outside of the house hasn't changed at all…"

When they looked back at the building from the outside, it was still the same shabby little shack.

There was absolutely no visible sign that an additional floor existed.

But inside, the house truly had another level.

"Is it interfering with spatial structure?"

Feitan's narrow, fox-like eyes gleamed with interest.

This world was suddenly becoming much more interesting.

Machi quietly observed the house as well, comparing the exterior with the interior structure she had just seen.

The shock she felt was no less than that of Uvogin or Phinks.

"A second floor exists inside… but from the outside there's nothing."

Although she was too young to clearly describe concepts like dimensional space or spatial distortion,

she instinctively realized how practical this kind of invention was.

After observing for a moment, Machi and Feitan returned inside and closed the door.

Just then, Uvogin stomped back down the stairs, clicking his tongue.

"The upper and lower floors are exactly the same."

He glanced around the room again.

"And it's even cleaner than down here."

The second floor had the same area and layout as the ground floor.

"Because the new floor is generated based on the existing structure of this house."

Moge smiled.

"Whatever the first floor looks like, the second floor will look the same."

As he spoke, he removed the middle block layer from the block house in his hand.

Instantly, the staircase inside the room disappeared.

The second floor that had just existed vanished as well.

Invention: [Four-Dimensional Space Extension Box]

Source: Doraemon World Future Technology Company.

Effect: Using the current room floor as the base template, each building-block layer added will increase the room by one additional floor in dimensional space. The extension only exists internally and does not change the external appearance of the structure.

This was the invention Moge had created to improve his living conditions, developed in response to Phinks' earlier request.

It could add additional floors to a house, effectively creating more living space.

However, the new space would always be based on the structure of the room in which the device was used.

In other words, the newly created floors used the existing floor as a template.

Since Moge used it inside his small shack, the generated floors had exactly the same area and layout as the one he was standing in.

In the Doraemon world, when Doraemon used this tool, it had been inside Nobita's second-floor bedroom.

Therefore, the generated floors all copied the structure and size of Nobita's room rather than the first floor of the house.

Additionally, the added floors only existed inside the interior space and were completely invisible from the outside.

This also provided extremely effective concealment.

"In other words…"

Phinks rubbed his chin.

"If the house is small, the added floors will be small. If the house is big, the added floors will also be big."

The logic was simple enough that everyone immediately understood it.

"So if we could find a large house and stack several floors on top of it…"

Phinks' eyes suddenly lit up.

"Then we'd have a huge hidden space. It would practically be a secret base!"

After all no boy could resist the idea of having his own secret base.

"But aside from the houses belonging to the Elders in Meteor City…"

Phinks scratched his head.

"Where would we even find a place that big…?"
