On the luxurious rooftop, thick with the stench of alcohol, countless men and women indulged in depraved acts, surrendering themselves to their most primitive desires.
Fangs had pierced the necks of some of them, and blood trickled down their skin before pooling on the floor. Yet rather than showing pain, their faces twisted with even greater pleasure.
Several High-Class Vampires lounged lazily on velvet sofas, enjoying this feast of desire shared by humans and vampires alike.
Seeing this, Rod muttered to himself,
"Good thing I didn't bring Jeanne up here. Her innocent little heart probably couldn't handle scenes this explicit."
The sight also reinforced Rod's impression that vampires loved throwing parties.
Did these vampires seriously have no other hobbies?
Every other faction was either plotting to conquer the world or already on its way to doing so.
Only vampires seemed completely carefree, spending every day drowning themselves in pleasure.
Just then, someone finally noticed Rod floating above the rooftop.
The vampires stared blankly for several seconds before becoming utterly confused.
This was the seventieth floor.
Without using an elevator or helicopter, how had this guy suddenly appeared here?
But before any of them could offer the usual formulaic greeting, they saw several dark cylindrical objects flying toward them.
The vampires widened their eyes as they tried to identify Rod.
Then the grenades exploded with intense flashes and concussive force.
A dazzling burst of white light erupted.
The vampires and humans, all staring with their eyes wide open, were struck directly by the flash without warning.
The humans amid the drunken revelry immediately clutched their eyes and screamed.
Although vampires were supernatural beings, the sudden stimulation of intense light affected them even more severely than ordinary humans. Several who were standing too close collapsed on the spot, foaming at the mouth.
After all, they were nocturnal creatures that slept during the day and emerged at night. They were naturally vulnerable to bright light.
Fortunately, they would not have to endure the pain for long.
After throwing the flashbangs, Rod entered the battlefield with a Desert Eagle in each hand.
Flames erupted from the barrel as a spinning bullet drilled into one vampire's forehead. The tremendous impact snapped his body backward several times before he collapsed, instantly turning to ash and scattering in the wind.
Only then did the remaining vampires react.
Several of the nearest ones lunged toward Rod, but he spun the pistol in his right hand.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Several more vampires died on the spot.
The once-noisy and depraved rooftop quickly fell silent.
Everyone had realized that Rod had not come with friendly intentions.
However, the High-Class Vampires sitting on the sofas did not immediately make a move.
The disturbance on the rooftop alerted the heavily armed vampires stationed throughout the building, and they soon entered Rod's field of vision.
These vampires were well equipped, all carrying modern firearms.
The moment they appeared, they quickly identified Rod as the one person who clearly did not belong among the crowd. Without hesitation, they pulled the triggers of their rifles.
RATATATAT!
Orange muzzle flashes painted streaks of fire through the air as scorching bullets tore toward Rod.
The dense crossfire from more than a dozen guns completely surrounded him.
Rod did not even bother dodging.
The bullets stopped about a meter in front of him, blocked by a faint purple barrier.
The flower-petal shield.
Also known as Rho Aias.
Although it often shattered until only one layer remained, it was more than sufficient against these vampires.
Seeing this, the vampire guards froze in astonishment.
Their weapons were effective against ordinary humans and weaker supernatural beings.
But against anyone even slightly powerful, the guns in their hands were no different from fire pokers.
Still, just like soldiers in certain science-fiction movies who continued pulling the trigger against monsters even after realizing bullets were useless, the shock and fear in their hearts compelled them to keep firing.
Some vampires even pulled out grenades and threw them toward Rod.
But once the smoke cleared, the explosions had accomplished nothing except knocking unconscious several human men and women who had willingly offered themselves to the vampires.
Rod remained expressionless as he calmly fired precise shots at the vampires below with both Desert Eagles.
Muzzle flashes erupted.
The bullets, imbued with the effects of holy water, easily shattered their bulletproof goggles before burying themselves in the vampires' skulls.
Clusters of red mist immediately erupted across the rooftop plaza.
Screams and furious roars echoed one after another.
Even the vampires who were barely dressed could not escape Rod's notice.
Whether they hid in the blind spots around the swimming pool or pretended to be dead beneath human corpses, it made no difference.
The system map highlighted every hostile target in bright red.
Combined with Rod's ability to curve bullets, it took less than half a minute before the rooftop was littered with piles of ash left behind by shattered vampires, along with the human men and women who had given everything to the vampires and become their accomplices.
The gunfire had erupted suddenly.
Then it stopped just as abruptly.
The disturbing sounds of debauchery were gone from the rooftop.
Only the expensive sound system continued blasting blood-pumping music.
Rod lowered his arms and landed on the ground.
As he walked forward, he gently blew away the smoke rising from the barrels of his guns.
"You're the only ones left."
Rod smiled at the remaining High-Class Vampires, who were glaring at him with open hostility.
"You damned human! Who the hell are you?!"
One of the vampires bared his fangs and demanded viciously.
His answer was a bullet soaked in holy water.
The tremendous kinetic force snapped his body backward.
But as a High-Class Vampire, his physical abilities were even stronger than those of many Devils. Ordinary firearms could not truly harm him.
Rod's shot only provoked his savage instincts.
There was no longer any need for words.
The four High-Class Vampires rushed forward together.
Bat-like wings spread from their backs as their facial features twisted and distorted.
In the blink of an eye, the handsome men and beautiful women transformed into hideous monsters.
Their clothes tore apart beneath their swelling bodies.
At first glance, they resembled bats enlarged dozens of times over.
Rod immediately showed an expression of disgust.
The true forms of these vampires were seriously grotesque.
The distance between the vampires and Rod disappeared rapidly.
They moved with astonishing speed.
As High-Class Vampires, they possessed power that far surpassed ordinary beings.
Even after Rod had descended like a divine soldier and slaughtered their subordinates, they remained unconcerned.
After all, even modern weapons coated in holy water were incapable of truly threatening them.
Now that Rod had attacked without warning, they erupted into action, intending to tear apart and devour this exorcist.
But in the next instant, the vampires charging toward Rod noticed the faint smile curling at the corner of his lips.
He was still smiling when death was right in front of him?
Immediately afterward, purple flames erupted without warning.
The scorching violet fire instantly engulfed the three closest vampires.
Containing immense sacred and purifying power, the purple flames reduced their bodies to ash in an instant.
The final vampire survived, but her entire body felt as though it were being pierced by countless needles.
Large areas of her skin rotted away, leaking revolting blood and pus.
When the purple flames finally dispersed, Rod stood silently before the last female vampire.
His gaze was calm, yet filled with overwhelming pressure.
"Y-You... Who exactly are you?"
The vampire's face was filled with terror.
Rod smiled faintly.
"Calamities plague the mortal world, and evil spirits run rampant. Yet the gates of Heaven have opened once more, and the will of God has descended upon the earth again."
