Tarvond Keep sat on a granite bluff overlooking the Green Basin's northern edge — the place where swampland gave way to highland, where the air dried and the ground firmed and the landscape stopped trying to swallow your boots with every step.
The keep was old. Not the oldest structure in the kingdom — that distinction belonged to the Ruined Shrine — but the first military structure. Built in Year 12 AF by Gorthan the first scout and gifted to the Tarvond bloodline when the noble house system was formalized. Stone walls three meters thick. Watchtowers at each corner. A courtyard that had once been a training ground for the kingdom's entire army, back when the entire army was forty Lizardmen with stone weapons and a willingness to die for a god they couldn't see.
