Chapter 2 – Cashback Madness

Lin Mo didn't leave Qingyu Capital immediately.

That alone was strange enough to make people notice.

Most investors—especially small ones—either left nervously after signing their papers or hovered anxiously, hoping for reassurance. Lin Mo did neither. He sat calmly in the waiting lounge, posture relaxed, one leg crossed over the other, as if this glass-and-steel empire already belonged to him.

His phone rested loosely in his hand.

Then it vibrated.

+5,000,000 yuan

Lin Mo's fingers tightened slightly.

The number refreshed again, confirming it wasn't an illusion.

"So it's real," he murmured under his breath.

Not just real—absurdly efficient.

He replayed everything in his mind: the investment, the emotional shift in Su Qingyu's eyes, the confirmation prompt. The system didn't reward blind spending. It rewarded connection, influence, and control.

Across the transparent glass wall, Su Qingyu stood in the executive area, speaking with her assistant. Her tone was calm, clipped, professional—but her eyes betrayed her. Every few sentences, they drifted toward the lounge.

Toward Lin Mo.

"Miss Su," her assistant said quietly, "should I have security escort him out?"

Su Qingyu didn't answer immediately.

She watched Lin Mo lean back slightly, scrolling casually through his phone as if he were killing time in a café, not sitting inside one of the most powerful investment firms in the city.

"No," she said finally. "Leave him."

The assistant hesitated. "He's… unusual."

Su Qingyu adjusted her glasses. "That's exactly why."

After a moment, she excused herself and walked toward the lounge, heels tapping lightly against the polished floor.

"Mr. Lin," she said coolly.

He looked up, expression open, calm. "Miss Su."

"You now own shares in Qingyu Capital," she said bluntly. "That puts you on my radar whether you like it or not."

Lin Mo smiled faintly. "I wouldn't have invested otherwise."

That answer earned him a longer look.

Most men tried to impress her. Some tried to intimidate her. Lin Mo did neither. He spoke as if this was a simple transaction—yet his presence disrupted her rhythm in a way she didn't like… and couldn't ignore.

"Confidence without background is recklessness," she said.

"Background can be acquired," Lin Mo replied. "Confidence can't."

Silence followed.

[Affection Level Update: Neutral → Interested]

The system's chime was soft but unmistakable.

Su Qingyu felt it too—not the sound, but the shift. Something about this man made her feel as if she were standing at the edge of a calculation she hadn't finished yet.

"Be careful," she said at last. "Capital isn't a game."

Lin Mo stood. He was slightly taller than her—close enough that she could smell a faint, clean scent. Not cologne. Just… him.

"I don't play games," he said quietly. "I win systems."

He turned and walked away.

Su Qingyu watched him go long after the doors closed behind him.

For the first time in years, her perfectly ordered mind felt… disturbed.

Outside, the city felt different.

Sharper. Louder. Full of possibility.

Lin Mo exhaled slowly and pulled up the system panel.

[Active Sponsor: Su Qingyu]

[Daily Cashback Rate: x5]

[Unlocked: Investment Synergy]

"So as long as I stay in her orbit," he muttered, "money just… multiplies."

His phone buzzed again.

+200,000 yuan

+200,000 yuan

Passive income.

He laughed softly.

"This is ridiculous."

But the system wasn't done.

[New Objective: Spend Without Hesitation]

[Description: Wealth must circulate to expand influence.]

[Reward: Cashback x3 + Hidden Milestone]

Lin Mo looked up at the skyline.

"Alright," he said. "Let's circulate."
