Chapter 13 - Chapter 13

"Why are you looking for Professor Quirrell? You're being so mysterious!" Edgar was the first to succumb to curiosity, leaning in close to Lynn to ask.

William also cast an inquiring gaze their way.

Ollie said nothing, just nodding his head repeatedly.

Lynn waved the signed slip in his hand and said, "It's nothing big. I just needed a signed pass. It's settled! So, how about going fishing this afternoon?"

"Fishing?" Edgar immediately shook his head, an excited expression appearing on his face. "This afternoon is our first Flying Class! I need to go back to the dormitory and sleep for a while to recharge my energy!"

Lynn and William exchanged a glance, both seeing the same confusion in each other's eyes.

They truly couldn't understand why Wizards held such immense passion for flying around in the sky on a broomstick that might poke their backsides…

Adhering to the philosophy of "never going home empty-handed," Lynn went to the edge of the Black Lake alone anyway.

After sitting for an hour and a half in the cold wind, he returned to the Castle dejectedly, carrying his empty fish bag once again.

It must be the fishing rod! Lynn thought indignantly. This Muggle fishing rod definitely can't suit the tastes of magical fish! I'll have to get a magic fishing rod to try another day!

…In the afternoon, at the Quidditch Pitch.

The weather was perfect, a fine day for flying.

The Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw first-year students gathered there, welcoming their long-awaited first Flying Class.

Madam Hooch stood before a row of neatly arranged flying brooms.

As usual, it started with a lengthy explanation of safety regulations and theory, emphasizing how to correctly summon the broom, basic flying postures, and emergency procedures.

Just as Madam Hooch announced the end of the theoretical part and prepared for everyone to touch the brooms, the system prompt in Lynn's mind sounded right on time:

[Ding! Mission issued: Experience riding a Flying Broomstick. Reward: Perfect Bodily Control]

[Effect: You can perfectly control every bone and every muscle in your body, coordinating them to perform any biomechanically sound movement you desire, provided the movement itself does not exceed the physical limits of your body's structure.]

[You can easily gesture a six with your left hand, a seven with your right, draw a circle with your left foot, and a square with your right, all while maintaining a smile. You are truly a master of human body manipulation!]

Hmm? Lynn's eyes lit up. This ability sounded very practical!

Might as well take it!

"Now, you may move freely and try to fly! Stay safe!" At Madam Hooch's command, the young Wizards immediately cheered.

"Lynn! Want to play a game of Quidditch? We're setting up a temporary match with Ravenclaw for fun!"

Edgar ran over excitedly to invite him, clutching his broom. Behind him, several eager Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw students had already gathered.

"I don't know how to play," Lynn answered honestly. His knowledge of Quidditch rules was limited to knowing you had to throw the ball through the hoops and that there was a small golden thing.

"It doesn't matter! I'll teach you! The rules are simple; I guarantee you'll learn!"

Edgar patted his chest in assurance, his face brimming with enthusiasm.

This conversation… why did it feel like such a strong sense of déjà vu?

Well, fine. He'd treat it as experiencing flight and complete the mission while he was at it.

"Alright then," Lynn agreed readily.

Soon, both houses had formed their own temporary teams.

With his passion and familiarity with the rules, Edgar was naturally the best choice for Seeker.

Because Lynn seemed relatively agile—at least he didn't trip over his own feet while walking—he was assigned as a Chaser, responsible for getting the red Quaffle into the opponent's goal.

William wasn't very interested in this kind of sport and volunteered to be the referee, holding a whistle borrowed from Madam Hooch, ready to maintain order in the "match."

"Match start!" William blew the whistle.

A dozen or so brooms rose wobbling into the air.

Lynn mounted his broom and felt surprisingly good.

The magic broom seemed to have some kind of cushioning and body-fitting magic; it didn't feel as uncomfortable as he had expected.

[Ding! Mission complete! Reward obtained: Perfect Bodily Control]

Before he could even carefully experience this new ability, a red Bludger came whistling through the air, heading straight for his face!

It was an attack initiated by Anthony Goldstein from Ravenclaw!

"Watch out!" Edgar shouted from a distance.

In that split second, Lynn suddenly exerted force, his upper body leaning back as if snapping, and he was almost instantly hanging upside down on the broom handle, his movements as fluid as an acrobat's!

The Bludger brushed past the tip of his nose, while his feet were still firmly hooked onto the broom, not affecting his control over the flight direction at all!

"Whoa~!" Anthony Goldstein, whose attack missed, wasn't frustrated but instead let out a sincere exclamation of praise. "He could even dodge that?!"

Having completely familiarized himself with broom flight and integrated his new ability, Lynn felt as if a door to a new world had opened! (>y<)

After catching the Quaffle passed by a teammate, he steered his broom like a slippery fish, weaving through the chaotic aerial arena.

The Ravenclaw Keeper, Terry Boot, was on high alert, but Lynn could always send the ball into the goal from the most tricky angles using incredible body contortions and wrist flicks.

Diving into the bottom corner, bypassing the Keeper's armpit, or even a feint that looked like a pass but was actually a shot!

"Another one! Lynn scored again!" The cheers from the Hufflepuffs grew louder and louder.

The Ravenclaw Beaters tried to use the Bludgers to stop this seemingly cheating Chaser, but the balls they hit were either easily dodged by Lynn with a bridge-like backbend,

or avoided by a weird right-angle turn he made while controlling the broom.

Once, he even did a sudden mid-air flip while flying at high speed; the Bludger almost grazed the tail of his broom, a sight that made hearts race with fear.

Lynn's heart remained calm, and he even felt like laughing: [Peters Jolt] predicted the dangerous trajectory, and [Perfect Bodily Control] executed the extreme dodge. Kid, how are you going to hit me? ╮(─▽─)╭

As William blew the whistle, Edgar finally, amidst the chaos, quick-handedly caught that golden flash—the Golden Snitch!

"Yay! We won!" Edgar raised his fist excitedly, then subconsciously looked up, wanting to see the final score…

The scoreboard clearly displayed: 310:0

Edgar rubbed his eyes, wondering if he had seen it wrong. (⊙_☉)

"Wait… how did this score happen?"

He was dazed, muttering to himself, "Ravenclaw… did they just not defend at all?"

He looked toward where his team was gathered, only to find that no one cared about him, the "hero" who caught the Golden Snitch. Everyone was crowded around Lynn, chattering with faces full of excitement and disbelief.

Edgar squeezed into the crowd and asked, "What's going on? Why are you all surrounding Lynn?"

"Edgar! Didn't you see just now? It was amazing!" a student said, incoherent with excitement.

"Lynn! By himself! He scored 15 goals! Fifteen! Ravenclaw couldn't stop him at all!"

"What? One person scored 15 goals?!"

Edgar gasped and suddenly looked at Lynn, who was surrounded in the center with a small, smug look on his face.

"You… how did you do it? Didn't you say before that you didn't know how?"

Lynn looked at Edgar and said something that left Edgar and everyone around him completely baffled:

"Oh, wow~ it's so good!"
