Chapter 20 - (Chapter 20) {First Class of Second Life}

Scene – Inside Aplika Academy, Tianzhu, Madan, Dana, and Rekha are sitting in the classroom. Suddenly, a female teacher enters, stands near the table, and introduces herself.

Sima:

Hello everyone. I am Sima, your class teacher. I'm not interested in your names, so without wasting time, let's continue with the class.

Tianzhu (in his mind):

Serious woman…

Madan & Dana:

Rekha:

Hm..!

Sima:

First, let's talk about ranks. There are a total of seven ranks:

Normal < High < Pro < Heroic < Exillant < Master < Grand Master.

Tianzhu (in his mind):

But in that book, there were only four… half knowledge. -_-

Sima:

Normal and High ranks are commonly seen, but Pro rank is quite rare. For example, Principal Pathak is a Pro magician.

Tianzhu:

And Head Principal Nandu?

Sima:

He is a Heroic-rank magician.

One more thing—Pro, Heroic, and above are all powerful ranks. As rank increases, power also increases. That means you can raise your rank if you work hard enough.

Madan:

Ma'am, how is this decided? Anyone could say they're Grand Master rank.

Sima:

Good question. That's why a rank badge is given. It automatically upgrades with your rank.

To go into more detail—each rank has four levels.

For example: Normal Rank Level 1, 2, 3, 4.

Then High Rank Level 1, 2, 3, 4—and the same applies to all other ranks.

When you clear Level 4, your rank upgrades.

Dana:

And how does the badge rank up?

Sima:

Soldiers guarding borders, people hunting monsters for the kingdom, or adventurers killing monsters—all of them increase their rank and level based on the monsters they defeat.

For example, after getting a Normal Rank Level 1 badge, you must kill monsters to advance.

The required number increases as you level up and jump even more when changing ranks.

Tianzhu:

So if Normal Rank Level 4 needs ten thousand monsters, then next rank would need two hundred thousand?

Sima:

No, that was just an example. In reality, to go from Normal Rank Level 1 to Level 2, you only need to kill one monster.

Then it doubles each level:

Level 3 → 2 monsters

Level 4 → 4 monsters

To advance to the next rank, it requires ten times more, so 8 × 10 = 80 monsters.

Tianzhu:

I see.

Sima:

Besides this, there's an easier method. The more magic spells you learn, the higher your rank becomes.

This doesn't increase levels, but it directly raises your rank.

Normal Rank users usually have 7–8 spells, while High Rank users have around 10–20.

Tianzhu (in his mind):

So Mom and Dad have 10–20 spells?!

Sima:

That's all for magic ranks. Now let me tell you about the kingdoms.

In our world, there are four kingdoms.

Our kingdom is the Human Kingdom — ARYAWARTH.

Then the Demon Kingdom — ASURATH.

The Elf Kingdom — PREVELF.

And the Dragon Kingdom — SKYDRATH.

These are the four kingdoms of our continent.

Wars and fights often break out among them, but for quite some time now, everything has been silent.

Rekha:

Ma'am, what is the name of our continent?

Sima:

Our continent is called TASIA, the only continent on the planet BHARATAHA.

Tianzhu (in his mind):

These names sound familiar… Oh! Remove "T" from TASIA and it becomes ASIA, and remove "AHA" from BHARATAHA and it becomes BHARAT.

What the hell?! Seriously, couldn't they come up with better names?

Sima:

Now, let me teach you about magic—

Tianzhu:

Ah! Ma'am, when will we get our badges?

Sima:

Don't worry. Everyone will receive them. You should get yours in two or three days.

If it breaks—which is very difficult—you'll have to get a new one made yourself.

Tianzhu:

I see…

Scene – Meanwhile, the elf enemy from the last battle is shown standing inside a room. A male elf is sitting on a chair in front of her.

Female Elf:

That kid killed both of my dogs.

Male Elf:

You were defeated by a kid?!

Female Elf:

Well… he was powerful. None of our attacks worked on him.

Male Elf:

What do you mean?

Female Elf:

My dogs launched many attacks. Even the humans around him were getting damaged, but that kid wasn't affected at all.

Male Elf:

How is that possible?

Female Elf:

He used some kind of magic.

Male Elf:

Of course he did. Otherwise, how could he take no damage?

But what kind of magic was it? A barrier? Cover? Shield?

Female Elf:

I don't think so. He didn't block or stop the attacks.

When attacks hit him, the damage didn't nullify—the attacks passed straight through his body.

Male Elf:

I don't understand.

Female Elf:

Yes. Every attack passed through him as if he wasn't even there.

Male Elf:

What about his attacks?

Female Elf:

They were normal, but extremely powerful. He has very strong magic.

Male Elf:

Hmm… find out where this kid came from.

He could become a serious problem for us in the future.

Female Elf:

Hmm. (nods)

Male Elf:

And keep an eye on that kid.

Female Elf:

Yes, sir.

Scene – A knock on the door. A maid enters.

Maid:

My king, my queen.

Scene – The female elf sits beside the male elf.

Maid:

Dinner is ready.

Female Elf:

Okay, you may go. We're coming.

Maid:

Yes, my queen.

Scene – The maid leaves. A mosquito sitting on the wall flies away and travels far, landing on a man's hand atop a mountain.

Mosquito:

Bzzz… bzz…

That Human:

I see… so now their target is Tianzhu…

Scene – It's Rundie, sitting on the mountain. He suddenly vanishes, leaving the air flowing.

Scene – Three days later, inside Aplika Academy classroom. Tianzhu, Madan, Dana, and Rekha are seated. Sima enters holding a small box.

Sima:

Okay everyone, your badges have arrived. Come one by one and take them.

Scene – Everyone takes their badges. The badge is brown and diamond-shaped.

Dana:

Wow… it's so cool.

Scene – Dana touches it to his shirt, and it sticks to it.

Dana:

!!

Sima:

Once you touch it to your clothes or body, it sticks permanently. No matter what happens, it won't come off unless someone removes it intentionally.

Rekha:

Nice…

Sima:

And Tianzhu—Principal Nandu has called you to his office.

Tianzhu:

Me? But why?

Sima:

I don't know. Go.

Tianzhu:

Yeah… okay.
