Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Handling the Matter, Guzheng, and Let's Have BBQ

This was originally a trivial matter. Mitsui Hisashi had a foul mouth and a bad temper; there wasn't a single Uchiha working in the Public Security Division who didn't know that. In fact, many things that the villagers thought the Public Security Division didn't know, the Division actually knew better than the villagers themselves.

It could be said that for someone like Mitsui Hisashi, with a mouth like his, it would be abnormal if he didn't attract trouble. The villagers didn't like the Uchiha of the Public Security Division, and the Uchiha of the Public Security Division similarly disliked people like Mitsui Hisashi.

The five Uchiha exchanged glances and quickly decided how to handle the situation:

First, Mitsui Hisashi, stop talking nonsense and stop making trouble, or else you'll be thrown into the Public Security Division's prison to enjoy a few days in a high-priced premium cell.

Second, apologize to the guests and provide them with a certain amount of compensation, and then this matter will be considered settled.

Third... the third point didn't have much to do with Mitsui Hisashi, the guests, or the villagers.

The third point was to report to the Public Security Division and conduct a targeted "dragnet search" across all of Konoha. This kind of search was often of little practical use, but the purpose wasn't to actually find anything, but rather to serve as a "warning"—to let the little rats hiding in the shadows recognize their place and not cause trouble for the Public Security Division at this time... There was nothing wrong with this method of handling things.

Ino, Nana, and Kana watched the song and dance performance for a while, and then went to scoop goldfish. Nana and Kana were very enthusiastic about the little game of goldfish scooping, but their technique was poor; they spent a long time without successfully scooping a single one.

The nets for goldfish scooping were made of thin paper, which broke very easily once they got wet. Often, the little goldfish would struggle and break through the small net pouch, falling back into the water.

As for that "Mitsui Hisashi"... Ino didn't even have the intention of looking back—not being able to turn back and admire her own masterpiece was quite unsatisfying.

However, in Ino's memories of her "previous life," there was some professional criminal investigation experience she had seen on the internet:

A murderer often returns to the scene to see the results they created.

This mistake often leads to the killer leaving behind extra clues and getting caught. This habit can be easily changed—just pay attention, don't be overly curious, and suppress the impulses in your heart.

After spending a full fifty Ryo on goldfish and still coming up empty-handed, Nana and Kana reluctantly gave up on the game.

Ino happened to notice a musical instrument store and suggested, "There's a music shop over there, let's go in and take a look..."

Inside the shop, a very capable-looking woman wearing a business suit with her brown hair tied up stood up to greet them as she saw people entering.

"Welcome... Do you need any assistance? We have various string instruments, wind instruments, pianos..."

The woman introduced them one by one, while Ino walked on her short legs, inspecting the various instruments and listening to the woman's explanations.

Ino walked up to an ancient-looking Guzheng and lightly plucked the strings with her small hand, sweeping out a series of notes.

"This one is nice... Tell me the price. If it's reasonable, we'll take this instrument..."

"This one is thirty-seven thousand Ryo, what do you think..."

The woman was asking Nana and Kana.

Ino, on the other hand, performed a mental conversion between the current prices and those of her "previous life," finding that this Guzheng was actually surprisingly cheap. For a decent Guzheng in her "previous life," if you just swapped the "Ryo" for "Yuan," the price wouldn't feel out of place at all. She had also tested it just now; the tone and sound quality of this Guzheng were very good.

She might not understand other instruments, but the Guzheng... thanks to a sincere love that once stood before him in his "previous life," his girlfriend had been a professional student of the Guzheng.

His girlfriend had unexpectedly discovered his extraordinary talent for it and, enjoying playing the role of a teacher, taught him some Guzheng techniques—whereupon he went from beginner to proficient. The speed of his learning made his girlfriend gasp, stating frankly that he had missed the best time to learn and that not following this path was a waste of talent. Now, no matter how hard he worked, he could only be an amateur.

Whether the sound of a Guzheng was good or the price was expensive, he truly had insights and experience from playing it. Seeing it now, he couldn't help but want it.

Ino said, "Deliver this Guzheng directly to the Yamanaka Clan residence. Just say Ino Yamanaka bought it, and the money will be given to you then. We didn't bring that much cash with us."

After leaving the music shop and wandering for a while longer, Ino felt hungry, so she led the two of them to a Yakiniku Bar.

Upon entering the Yakiniku Bar, they saw that the tables were all full. At one table sat three uncles from the Akimichi Clan; with the three of them sitting together, even the table looked miniature.

The owner of the Yakiniku Bar was an ordinary person who employed three young men wearing red overalls with a cartoon "Q" pattern on the chest.

This was very different from the setting in some "fanfiction" works Ino had seen, which claimed the Akimichi Clan ran restaurants—

Thinking about it, it made sense. How could a group of big eaters who eat constantly and strive to eat all day run a restaurant? How could they possibly sell BBQ?

The Akimichi Clan selling BBQ could practically be used as the first part of a two-part allegorical saying, with the second part being "the customers starve to death and the shop goes bankrupt." From the moment the meat went from raw to cooked in the kitchen, it wouldn't even have a chance to appear on the dining table; it would be eaten as soon as it was grilled. In fact, if there were two or more Akimichi members in the back kitchen, they might even fight and snatch it from each other.

No one could snatch food from a member of the Akimichi Clan—except for their closest friends, and even fewer people could get them to gift food.

Not even for money.

"Fanfiction misled me..." Ino lamented in her heart, but then she thought: "But thanks to fanfiction, otherwise, how could a casual reader like me, who only saw up to the Chunin Exams, know what happens later?"

It had to be said—

"Fanfiction" was a very magical existence—it was often more exciting than the original work. One could read fanfiction with great interest while the original felt as bland as chewing wax, making it impossible to continue.

In this regard, the three major'shonen' series—Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece—as well as the ancient manga Dragon Ball, were all the same. One might lose interest halfway through the serious manga and toss it aside, but fanfiction would allow one to see the things that happen later and know the future plot... Another example was Huang Yi's novels, especially the epic 'Twin of Brothers.' Many people even learned about Twin of Brothers through fanfiction and then went to read the original, only to be discouraged and quit right at the beginning.

Um... like Ino's "previous life."

"Give us a private room, a quiet one." Without Ino having to speak, Nana said to the owner, asking him to prepare a private room for the three of them.

The owner led the three people—two adults and one child—to the second floor, to a small private room just large enough for three. He told them to "wait a moment," and in a short while, a waiter came in and handed them a menu. "Hello, guests, what would you like to eat..."
