Chapter 62 - Minato as a Teacher! Minato’s Instruction

The reason the two of them exchanged shocked looks was actually very simple—

Overnight, Ning Feng seemed to have grown noticeably again.

What shocked them the most was that in just one night apart, the chakra within Ning Feng's body had become vastly stronger than before.

Both of them were veterans who had traversed the shinobi world for many years. Even without something like the Hyūga clan's Byakugan, they could still roughly judge a person's strength.

"Ning Feng… your chakra increased again?"

Uchiha Fugaku was the first to speak.

Every time he saw Ning Feng, the boy seemed to have made another leap forward. That feeling was simply too stimulating.

Minato Namikaze didn't speak, but a faint trace of envy flashed through his eyes.

As someone who had risen from a civilian background to eventually become Hokage, Minato understood all too well how terrifying clan foundations could be.

Don't be fooled by how effortlessly he used the Flying Thunder God Technique, defeating countless powerful shinobi—his own chakra reserves had never been particularly large. Because of that, he rarely used large-scale, chakra-intensive techniques.

Of course, in the original timeline, this weakness was only truly remedied after Minato sealed half of the Nine-Tails within his body.

"Yeah, it increased quite a bit. I don't really know why—lately, whenever I eat, it feels like my chakra just skyrockets,"

Ning Feng replied casually.

"By rough estimate, I should already have chakra on par with a chūnin."

Naturally, he couldn't mention anything about the Akimichi clan's secret medicine, so he brushed it off lightly.

Sure enough, after hearing this, the already shocked looks on Fugaku's and Minato's faces deepened yet again. It took them quite a while before they finally recovered.

After a long silence, Fugaku adjusted his mindset and spoke again:

"Since Minato is now your teacher, he is effectively also a teacher of the Uchiha clan. Feng, you must study ninjutsu diligently under Minato-sensei."

As he spoke, Fugaku turned his gaze toward Minato.

"Minato-sama, if Konoha ever encounters trouble in the future, our Uchiha clan will absolutely not hesitate to act."

Minato's heart leapt with joy at those words, and he nodded heavily.

How could he fail to understand the meaning behind Fugaku's statement?

"Don't worry, Father,"

Ning Feng shrugged, sometimes feeling that the doting look Fugaku gave him was even stronger than the ones from Itachi and Shisui.

"Mhm."

Fugaku said no more, turning around and leaving.

Minato didn't stand on ceremony either. He had Ning Feng grab onto him, and in a flash, the two vanished without a trace—

It was the Flying Thunder God Technique!

When Ning Feng's vision cleared again, he discovered that Minato had already brought him to a dense forest. The two of them were standing quietly atop a tree branch.

"Although I've taught a class of students before, I'm actually not particularly skilled at teaching ninjutsu,"

Minato began, looking at Ning Feng with a gentle smile.

"But since you've already grasped space–time ninjutsu, learning my techniques should be much faster for you."

"All right, no more talk. Show me your Flying Thunder God Technique first."

Ning Feng nodded. He knew this was where the real lesson began.

With a few sharp whooshing sounds, he reached to his waist and pulled out several razor-sharp kunai. Each one was engraved with space–time markings.

"Not bad. You already know to use kunai to create directions and establish coordinates for Flying Thunder God,"

Minato praised.

Back then, it had taken him a long time to come up with this method himself. Seeing Ning Feng grasp it so naturally only confirmed his extraordinary talent.

As Minato was thinking this, Ning Feng casually flicked his wrist.

Whoosh—whoosh—whoosh!

Kunai shot out in all directions, embedding themselves firmly into nearby tree trunks and branches.

The next instant, Ning Feng's figure began to flicker rapidly, appearing at each kunai's location in turn. The speed was so fast it looked like pure teleportation.

"Very good. Your mastery of Flying Thunder God is solid, especially your control over space–time chakra,"

Minato said approvingly.

"But in real combat, if you want Flying Thunder God to reach its true potential, you still need to further refine your control over space–time."

As he spoke, Minato casually threw out several kunai of his own, pinning them into surrounding branches.

In the blink of an eye, his figure began flashing as well, teleporting continuously.

At first glance, Minato's movements looked similar to Ning Feng's.

But only Ning Feng—thanks to his exceptional perception—noticed the real difference.

Every time Minato teleported to a new location, he would casually toss out several more kunai to other positions.

In other words, after each use of Flying Thunder God, Minato was simultaneously creating the conditions for the next use.

What shocked Ning Feng even more was that Minato remembered the exact position of every kunai he threw—clearly and precisely.

"Feng, remember this,"

Minato instructed.

"Once your Flying Thunder God has been exposed, skilled opponents will secretly memorize the positions of your kunai."

"That can become a serious obstacle—but it can also create new opportunities."

"If your space–time marks are left on the ground or in obscure places, your enemy might not even notice them."

"In short, space–time markings must be placed silently and flexibly."

As he spoke, Minato demonstrated everything in real time.

Although Ning Feng had seen the few battles involving Minato in the original story, those scenes offered limited insight. They were nowhere near as valuable as Minato's personal, hands-on instruction.

Under Minato's guidance, Ning Feng quickly learned how to leave space–time markings around him while using Flying Thunder God, especially in hidden locations.

He could also clearly feel that with Minato teaching him step by step, the chakra consumption of his Flying Thunder God Technique had dropped significantly, while its speed had increased noticeably.

Before this, Ning Feng had thought Flying Thunder God was mainly for instant movement and surprise kills.

But Minato's demonstration completely opened up an entirely new door for him—

A massive door into the true potential of space–time ninjutsu.

Just like that, the night passed, leaving space–time markings scattered all across the forest.

After an entire night of training, Ning Feng was already able to keep up with Minato using Flying Thunder God alone.

"Feng, you've more or less mastered Flying Thunder God now,"

Minato said calmly.

"Next, it's time to give your Flying Thunder God greater destructive power."

"This is a complementary technique I developed specifically for Flying Thunder God—the Rasengan. Familiarize yourself with it first."

"I'll be waiting for you here again tonight."

With that, Minato straightened up, gave Ning Feng a fond look, tossed him a ninjutsu scroll, and vanished without a trace—as if he had never been there at all.

Ning Feng picked up the scroll.

Sure enough, the technique recorded on it was none other than—

The Rasengan.
