Under the amber glow of the chandeliers, the Black Pearl sang. She was a vision of mahogany skin and smoky yellow silk, her voice carrying a weight of wisdom that felt impossibly ancient for a girl her age.

"When you are old and your hair is white, and slumber takes you... recall your youth by the fire."

The hall went deathly silent. The contrast was the key—a breathtaking maiden singing a wistful dirge of aging and memory. It was a masterstroke of performance. When the final note of the flutes and lutes faded, the crowd erupted.

"Black Pearl!" "Black Pearl!"

High above, leaning against the marble balustrade of the third floor, Sea Lord Ferrego watched the spectacle. His eyes were hooded, reflecting the torchlight.

"That song has a philosophy that penetrates time," Ferrego murmured to his First Sword, Quilo. "To think a teenager wrote those words... he is either a genius or he has lived a thousand lives already."

"He is just below us on the second floor," Quilo noted, his hand resting on the hilt of his dragonbone-pommeled sword. "Do you wish to meet the Silver Traveler?"

"No," Ferrego shook his head slowly. "The Iron Throne is a dangerous enemy to make for an uncertain future. Let us see if this dragon can do more than just whistle before we invite him to the table. Let us wait."

Back in the private box, the atmosphere was thick with a different kind of tension. Viserys found himself surrounded by a constellation of Braavos's most powerful women. The Black Pearl had brought her peers: the Nightingale in her Lysene yellow; Moonshadow, vibrant in white and silver; and the Daughter of Darkness, a cool, statuesque beauty in a gown as black as a starless night.

Viserys knew their secrets as well as their names. Moonshadow and Nightingale were the voices of the Moonsingers, but the Daughter of Darkness... she was the shadow of the House of Black and White.

"This is the Silver Traveler," the Black Pearl announced, her eyes gleaming with pride. "The one who gave the Nightingale her wings and me my soul."

Moonshadow's eyes lit up as she scrutinized Viserys—his silver-white hair, his hauntingly beautiful violet eyes, and the sharp, razor-like lines of his jaw. "I thought the author would be a world-weary old man," she laughed. "I didn't expect a prince of such... impactful beauty."

"I'll give you a kiss for the next song," she whispered, leaning closer.

"I am honored," Viserys replied with an elegant bow, though his mind was already moving toward the dinner table.

The meal was a staggering display of Braavosi wealth. Huge platters of lampreys, clam meat, honey-glazed quail, and red-wine-soaked foie gras were laid out. But Viserys's eyes were fixed on the sea snails and a newly served dish of blue lobsters.

As the Courtesans picked daintily at their food to preserve their figures, Viserys began to eat with a focused, almost predatory intensity.

[STRENGTH ATTRIBUTE ↑] [TOUGHNESS ATTRIBUTE ↑]

The blue lobster was a revelation—a dense, magical protein that hummed with the same attribute-boosting energy as the snails. He devoured them one after another, his metabolism converting the luxury into raw power.

"How can he eat so much and remain so slender?" Moonshadow whispered to the Daughter of Darkness, watching in a mix of horror and fascination.

"He is a dragon," the Daughter of Darkness replied, her gaze cold and analytical. "And dragons are always hungry."

She leaned in, her voice a low silken thread. "The Black Pearl says you are a friend, not a guest. But if the exiled king ever finds himself in need of a... deeper kind of silence, you should seek me out."

Viserys didn't stop eating. "I'll talk after I'm full," he grunted, cracking a Sea King crab claw with his bare hands—a feat of strength that made the Black Pearl's eyebrows shoot up.

"Eat a little less," the Black Pearl warned, her hand resting on his arm. "You still have to dance with me later. The Sea Lord expects the opening waltz to be perfect."

Viserys looked up from a half-eaten lobster. "I never agreed to dance."

"I am the Black Pearl," she said, her smile turning dangerous. "In this city, no one refuses me. Not even a dragon."

"Can I refuse?" Viserys asked.

"Probably not," she shook her head. "Don't worry, Viserys. I won't eat you. I have far more interesting plans for you than that."
