WHOOSH!
THWACK!
Shinka's fist struck the flat side of Raymond's wooden sword.
A flash of surprise was shown by Raymond as he blocked the attack.
WHOOSH!
Using some force, the man pushed the boy with the flat part of the sword.
'He adapted well to the increased gravity.'
Raymond watched as Shinka ran towards him at great speed and prepared.
WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!
With quick movements, he dodged all of Shinka's attacks.
'He hasn't gotten stronger, at least not physically, nor more agile, yet something changed now.'
Shinka, who was in the air, launched a spinning kick towards Raymond's head.
He, leaning his body back, managed to dodge the kick without much difficulty.
'Yesterday Shinka thought a lot about his attacks, but now he seems to act by inertia. It's like primitive fighting instinct. I imagined he had delegated the lowest instincts to Shinka No. 2, but this even exceeds a bit what I had foreseen.'
WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!
Again, Raymond dodged all the strikes.
'Although the control of his body is occupied by his "Id," these are not random or conventional blows. He's using martial arts.'
Raymond was extremely satisfied.
THWACK!
Raymond had been lost in his thoughts for a few seconds. He felt as if something grasped his foot, preventing him from dodging a jab from Shinka.
'Clever.' He thought with a smile.
Raymond lightly struck Shinka's right arm to deflect the attack.
With his other free hand, he grabbed Shinka by the clothes and jerked his body sharply.
BOOM!
Shinka's feet impacted the ground, but his body didn't touch the floor.
'Does he know how to stop a grab?' He wondered instantly.
Raymond, feeling a sudden grip on his clothes, looked with amusement as Shinka's hands grabbed him and with force, lifted him.
'Judoka?' Raymond felt the strength of Shinka's grip sending him to the ground.
BOOM!
Raymond's feet touched the ground with force and delicacy, avoiding the effective blow from Shinka.
"You almost managed to surprise me there, Shinka 'Id'."
Agilely, Raymond released the sword and with another arm, grabbed and threw Shinka a few meters forward.
Quickly taking the wooden sword, the man began to harass Shinka with slashes.
SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!
Shinka dodged each slash effectively.
"You can't dodge forever!" Raymond shouted.
Shinka dodged the slashes by spinning backward.
THUD!
Shinka's back touched a wall.
Raymond's eye flashed, and he launched a quick slash.
WHOOSH!
SLASH!
In less than a second, Shinka had used the wall as support and jumped.
SHFFF!
Shinka's hand dragged across the ground to stop his speed and not move too far from Raymond.
"How agile!" the man shouted, having turned.
Before he could continue praising, Raymond felt a tug on his right foot.
He quickly looked down and saw Shinka's Grasping Magic dragging him swiftly.
Raymond prepared and made a sweep with his free foot. Shinka was forced to jump, but with force, he lunged with a kick towards the man's chest.
BOOM!
The wooden sword stopped the blow.
'That thing would have broken if I hadn't reinforced it with magic!' A drop of sweat ran down Raymond's cheek, but he continued smiling confidently.
With force, he pushed the wooden sword, and Shinka jumped.
WHOOSH!
In the air, a powerful kick from Raymond sent Shinka flying to the ground.
...
In the mental world, Shinka glanced sideways at the fight.
He was absorbed reading one of his memories, more specifically looking at the magic matrix in the room.
He could already use that magic if he wanted, but the problem was that it was limited to a specific, immovable point.
He couldn't use it on his body, and that was what he wanted most right now.
It was a bit complex because if the magic was cast on a biological body, nothing bad would happen, but when you wanted to move at a certain speed, the magic circle would break instantly.
So Shinka thought of a simple solution.
He had been doing tests, and the circle could deform its shape to cover a room that was constantly changing, but not in motion.
So Shinka thought it was a good idea to use his Mana Field magic to create a thin coating around him, which instead of being hard and resistant to withstand blows, would be elastic and moldable so his body could move at will.
Immediately, Shinka's body was enveloped in a translucent blue field, which gradually became invisible.
Subsequently, a magic circle formed, reflecting on Shinka's back, but without being in direct contact with his skin, but with the invisible field.
As soon as the circle glowed, it deformed, completely enveloping the energy field and also became invisible.
WHOOSH!
Shinka made a sharp movement.
CRACK!
The deformed circle manifested again and broke like a mirror.
The logic behind the experiment was that instead of the mana field moving in the direction Shinka was going, it would deform towards that direction, making it seem like it was moving, but simply being in a state of continuous deformation.
"I would save myself the whole mana field trick if I could quickly level up the gravity magic, but I don't have time for that..." he whispered while looking at his system.
After thinking a bit, Shinka looked upwards in the temple, and through a skylight in the ceiling, he could observe the real world.
"I have to hurry; it seems Raymond is taking the training more seriously." The boy couldn't help but say upon seeing the fight.
Shinka lowered his gaze and returned to practice.
After a few minutes, finally.
[Fixed Gravitational Alteration Magic Lv.6]
"Good, that will be enough for you, No. 2." Shinka turned off the magic, and with a thought, a small shelf emerged in front of him.
That small shelf contained some scrolls, each of them was magic known to Shinka.
Whatever was inside that small shelf would be the skills Shinka No. 2 could use.
'I can't use my two consciousnesses at the same time, so I can only do this.'
It was like insurance. Shinka was sure that in the future he would have some skill that would be better to use with caution, so to avoid any disaster, at the moment he separated his consciousness, he created a way to limit the other regarding his skills.
Quickly, Shinka introduced the scroll containing gravity magic and mana field magic into the shelf.
...
BOOM!
Outside the mental world, Shinka had just crashed forcefully into the ground.
"Certainly, you improved, but you still have a long way to go. We better finish training for today. Although next time, I want to fight Shinka 'Ego.' You can't depend all the time on your other half." Raymond said as he approached his student's body.
Shinka got up from the ground and brushed the dust off his clothes, then looked at Raymond.
'His eyes are brown again. He's back.' He thought upon seeing him.
Shinka's expression was calm once more, with a smile typical of someone who subverts expectations.
"Wait, I have one last card up my sleeve. Consider it a gift." He whispered, and his eyes turned gold once more right after shouting: "My revenge!"
An energy field formed around Shinka, adjusting to his body, and then a mana circle formed, deforming to take the same adjusted shape as the mana field.
Raymond looked at the event with delight, clenched his jaw, and smiled.
The mana field covering Shinka became invisible, but the deformed magic matrix glowed.
Shinka's speed became extremely fast.
'He became lighter!' Raymond thought in an instant and prepared.
BOOM!
His mana-reinforced wooden sword stopped a powerful blow from Shinka.
'And heavier when he strikes.'
Shinka disappeared again in a blur of light.
THUD!
THUD!
THUD!
Shinka appeared and disappeared suddenly, constantly besieging the man.
THUD!
THUD!
'I'm abusing my Sacred Gear's ability.' Raymond thought while blocking Shinka's blows one by one.
Suddenly, an explosion of golden light caused Shinka to move away.
"Magical Reinforcement!" Raymond shouted, and his body was enveloped in an angelic golden light.
His body moved even faster than Shinka's and reappeared in front of him.
"Training is over." He announced while landing a powerful blow to the boy's stomach.
WHOOSH!
BOOM!
The walls of the church rumbled with Shinka's impact.
The light enveloping the boy disappeared, as did the mana field and the matrix.
"T-That hurt..." he whispered while trying to get up. "A LOT!"
"Welcome back." Raymond said as he approached the boy.
"At least it wasn't as strong as yesterday's." Shinka said, finally standing up with difficulty.
"Let me help you." Raymond extended his hand, and a magic circle formed in front of Shinka.
A warm glow enveloped him, and he felt as if he hadn't just been hit by the force of a truck at full speed.
'Healing magic?'
"Yesterday I had my right arm broken and even internal damage, but when I woke up today I was perfectly fine. I guess you healed me while I was resting... No, even now. You were using healing magic to eliminate my muscle pain."
"Wow, you caught me. Although when I stop using it now, you'll surely feel like you've been run over by a truck. It removes the physical effect, but mentally you'll still feel the pain for a while." Raymond said mockingly. "And by the way, yesterday I didn't leave the church all night just to take care of you. You should thank me."
"Should I thank you even though you were the one who left me like that in the first place? I don't think so. And you should even give me the scroll with that magic." Shinka said shamelessly.
"And why would I do that?"
"You want to use me to protect Takido, so even you would benefit from me having it."
"I'll think about it, I'll think about it... But first, I want to show you something else."
Raymond helped the boy stand up, and they walked out of the training room.
Outside the room, Shizumi and Kaede were watching the spectacle from the door.
"That was a terrible fight. I didn't see technique anywhere, nor real strategy." Kaede said to both.
"Well, it's a test fight. Little Shinka hasn't trained seriously like you two. You should have compassion for him."
"L-L-Little Shinka?!" He whispered with annoyance.
"And where are you going now?" Shizumi asked, seeing her father walking with Shinka following him.
"I'll show our guest the church library. It's time he learns the truth about the world."
A flash filled with a desire for knowledge formed in Shinka's eyes.
'Finally.' He thought.
Finally, he wouldn't be blind to everything happening around his world.
