Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 : Unknown Paths

Noticing the figures disappearance, Toro started to panic as he searched each of the rooms because none of what the figure told him included how to leave this place. As a saiyan this place was nearly perfect for cultivation but it had one major flaw

There was no food

He didn't remember seeing food in any of the rooms he looked in. A normal person can only go so many days without food not to mention a saiyan with their ridiculous appetite. As for water, he wasn't really worried, push come to shove, he could drink from the healing pool. Since it could increase the bodies recovery, it should be edible

" wait a minute " muttered Toro as he face palmed before he turned his attention back to his chest.

Instead of the previous light, there was now a tattoo that resembled the Omni tower he was currently in. He touched it expactantly and his figure suddenly vanished. Unbeknownst to him

" and they say saiyans are unintelligent brutes, seems they're exceptions to every rule " muttered the figure as they looked at the place where Toro disappeared before disappearing as well

Toro breathed a sigh of relief after seeing himself back outside, glad that his idea worked.

His relief didn't last as he instantly collapsed to the ground, twitching as the pain of his injuries once again filled his mind. Seemingly even worse than before because of his actions in the tower

Toro started to feel lightheaded as his vision started to darken. Feeling his life starting to slip away, he used the last bit of strength he could muster to touch the tattoo of the Omni tower, his body instantly disappearing

Immediately after entering the tower, Toro fell to his knees, cold sweat dripping down his brows. He had never felt so close to death in either of his lives

After calming himself after an unknown amount of time, he stood up and looked down at his body with a frown, he had only now noticed that his injuries had disappeared. But based on what just happened that's only in the Omni tower

' I'm still injured, but I don't feel the pain of my injuries. Which made me forget I was injured, on top of that, they don't affect me while I'm in here ' thought Toro as he analysed his situation

' not to mention that my actions within here still affect my injuries. Meaning if I were to train under my current condition, I'd more than likely die the instant I leave the tower '

Coming to this thought, his face grew grave as he instanly made his way towards the healing pool. Anything else could come after he's healed

Stepping inside, he looked around, taking the time to see what was around unlike the cursory glance before when he was showed around. The room was about 10m long x10m wide. There was a clothes rack and several baskets which contained towels and what looked like soap

The so called healing pool was 8m long x10m wide, taking up most of the space. The water was crytal clear with a reddish hue as if someone added a bit of dye

Shrugging, he walked towards the rack and took off his combat armor, his thin frame was already scarred from his multiple battles, nothing anyone would expect on a 5 year old child. While for saiyans it seemed common place

Without any time to waste he stepped into the pool, shivering slightly from the cold water, after sub merging himself up to his neck, he suddenly felt his body grow warm as he let out a comfortable sigh. Before he could react a panel appeared in front of his face causing him to step back in surprise

{ Name : Toro } { Race : Saiyan } { Age : 5 } { Power Level : 50 }

[ Status : Fatally injured 80% ]

Toro carefully read the panel, his face darkening as he looked at his status. Thanking God for the vitality of saiyans as he turned his attention to a smaller panel in the corner of his eye

{ Level 1 Healing pool : Heals 20% of injuries, rather internal or external }

[ Duration : 60 Minutes ]

[ Cool Down : 24 hours ]

This panel made Toro frown before he shrugged. Something was better than nothing. Go outside and die with his current injuries or stay here and heal, it wasn't difficult to pick the correct option.

It'd just mean that he couldn't exercise or do anything strenuous for the next 4 days. He didn't have to hunt as he could just eat the creature he killed, it was more than enough to last him a few days

With this in mind, he just sat against the edge of the pool waiting for the hour to pass, his eyelids getting heavy as he unconsciously fell asleep

***

After an unknown amount of time, he awoke. Looking around in a daze, he found that the pool no longer had the reddish hue and had become crystal clear. Climbing out, he walked towards the rack and picked up his armor and found that while it was still tattered it was completely clean

" nice " exclaimed Toro as he clothed himself before touching the tattoo on his chest to leave

The moment he came back outside, he let out a groan as he stumbled forward, having to brace himself against a rock, finding that he underestimated what it meant to be 60% injured. While his wounds were no longer fatal, he could barely function as his body wasn't responding

Gritting his teeth, he limped his way towards the creature, it was about 10m long and 3m tall. It resembled a enlarged sabertooth tiger, it's teeth and claws were the key contributors to his current state. Ignoring the slightly rancid smell, he made his way towards one of it's open wounds. Hesitating slightly before he opened his mouth and took a bite

With his current injuries, there was no way he could cut off any of the meat to roast on a fire. So he had to adjust

In his previous life, he had never eaten any raw meat but compared with the memories of his past few years of survival on this planet, this was a delicacy and quite frankly he didn't have a choice

So he suppressed his nausea and continued to eat mouthfuls until he was full. Wiping the blood from his mouth, he glanced around before he made his way towards the creatures cave. He had found it when the creature tried to run away during their battle

This was the most powerful creature on this planet, so they shouldn't be any other creatures in the surrounding area, at least for the time being

It's only a matter of time before other creatures notice, but by then he should be fully healed

After finding a comfortable spot to sit down, ignoring the musty smell, he touched the tattoo on his chest and entered the tower. Upon entry he walked towards the meditation room. Since he couldn't train, he'd meditate

Inside the room, there was a thick cushion on the floor and a table. The table had a vase which contained red incense sticks which aroused his curiousity as he reached out and touched one. A panel appearing before him the moment his fingers connected

{ Level one Meditation Room : Calms the mind and increases comprehension by 20% }

[ Mental Incense : Increases comprenhension by 10% ]

[ Duration : 2 Hours ]

[ Restocks 1 Insence every 24 hours ]

After reading the panel, he took out the insence he was holding. The tip instantly lighting the moment it left the vase. He walked towards the cushion and sat down. Holding the incense, he closed his eyes and took deep breaths trying to calm himself. Finding that the slightly manic urge that was within him subsiding some what as memories of his past battles unconsciously surfaced within his mind

He found himself analysing these memories and noticed flaws in his movements and thought of ways in which he could move more efficiently.

He lost track of time as he fell into his thoughts...

Toro suddenly opened his eyes and exhaled deeply, his eyes turning towards the ash in his palm from the incense that completely burned out calling an end to the extra 10% in comprehension. When he read the panel, he didn't understand what an extra 10% could do but now he did

To give an example. Say his iq is 100, while in the meditation room, his comprehension was now 120. You may be confused as to what a difference of 20 could make, it makes sense when you look at the difference between scoring 60 on an exam and scoring 80. Just 20 marks, big difference In result

Not to mention the difficulty of increasing from 60 to 80

The same could be said for an extra 10% untop of that, 80 marks on an exam is great, but it's no where close to being able to score 90 plus

Every mark above 80, becomes a chasm to cross

The incense couldn't be wasted, he was going to leave them for when he was trying to learn a new move like teleportation . Shaking away the extra thoughts, he closed his eyes and continued meditating

***

2 days came and went quickly. He found that his body naturally recovered by 10% everyday when he ate his fill, so he healed much faster than expected. Because of this, it only took 1 day before he could once again eat cooked food.

These 2 days consisted of healing, eating, meditation, more eating that was then followed by more meditation. He found that he could use meditation to replace sleep, so he spent almost 24 hours meditating. This had it's due benefits

He found that his control of his body had improved significantly, not to mention fighting prowess. To the point where he believed he could beat 2 of himself from 2 days ago. His power level had also reached 62, an increase of 1 for every 3 hours of meditation

Unlike the past 2 days, he walked towards the gravity room, intending to finally experience gravity training now that his body was healed

Upon entry he found that the room was empty, as he stepped forward a panel appeared before his eyes

{ Level 1 Gravity Room : Automatically adjust gravity to the limit of what the user can bear. Creates work out plans based on current fitness level. Increases training speed by 20% }

Toro's eyes widened in surprise at the words contained on the panel which was then followed by elation. Personal fitness room with built in trainer. What more could a man ask for.

He excitedly clicked on the training plan, his expression freezing as he looked at the 2 options

{ Ki Training }

or

{ Physical Training }
