Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: A Walk! Hand-holding! Rhodey, both affectionate and a scoundrel!

In the restaurant, the atmosphere was romantic.

Rhodey raised his glass and clinked it with Gwen's across the table.

"Cheers!"

Gwen's cheeks were flushed, and even though her glass contained juice, she felt as if she were drinking alcohol.

"Tell me about your band."

Rhodey put down his glass and then said.

When her band, which she formed with her friends, was mentioned, Gwen immediately became much more energetic.

Her speaking speed couldn't help but quicken.

"Actually, to be precise, it's not my band, but ours," Gwen said, "I'm the drummer in the band, Betty is the bassist, Glori plays the guitar, and Mary is the lead singer."

"This band is our brainchild; it doesn't belong to any one of us, but to the collective."

When Gwen talked about the band, it was as if she suddenly had an endless supply of things to say.

When she was Spider-Woman, because she didn't want to expose her identity, she never talked to Rhodey about anything related to the band.

This might have made Gwen feel a bit pent-up.

So this time she said a lot, almost as if she had written their band's chronicle and then narrated it to Rhodey from beginning to end.

Rhodey didn't show any sign of impatience.

Instead, he listened carefully to Gwen's narration, occasionally offering his own opinions.

This made Gwen very happy.

She felt that they had common topics.

Dinner lasted more than two hours.

Because it was still relatively early when they ate, it was just past five o'clock.

Therefore, when they left the restaurant, it was still not yet eight o'clock.

"I feel like I ate so much, my stomach is a bit full."

Gwen rubbed her belly and said.

"Then how about we go for a walk in the nearby park?"

Rhodey suggested.

Hearing that, Gwen nodded without thinking.

Only after agreeing did she realize if she was being too immodest at the moment.

Would Rhodey think she was a casual girl?

Gwen felt a little uneasy.

However, Rhodey didn't think as she did; if others didn't understand Gwen, would he not?

This girl usually either studies or forms a band with a few good girlfriends.

And recently, she gained the identity of Spider-Woman.

How could she have time to fall in love!

Even;

Gwen had never even held another boy's hand; she was a complete novice in love.

Her level, in Rhodey's eyes, was simply at the level of being easily conquered.

Of course!

Gwen was different from ordinary girls; other girls would only cry when bullied by their boyfriends.

But Gwen might directly break the other person's bones!

And if she got extremely angry, she might even twist off the other person's head.

After all, she had the strength to do so.

However, Rhodey certainly wouldn't bully Gwen like that.

Although he was a rather generous person.

But for good girls, he would still cherish and dote on them.

He wouldn't treat them like the women who usually appeared around him, forgetting their names the next moment.

....

In the park, there were many people taking a walk at this hour.

Most of them lived nearby.

After all, if it got any later, it wouldn't be suitable to go out.

Rhodey and Gwen walked side by side.

They continued talking about what they hadn't finished discussing at the restaurant earlier.

At this moment, several mischievous children came from the opposite direction, running towards them while playing.

"Watch out!"

Rhodey took Gwen's small hand and pulled her closer.

The children quickly ran away.

However, Rhodey had no intention of letting go of her hand.

Gwen looked down with a blush, and she also had no intention of pulling her hand away.

They tacitly held hands and continued their walk.

It felt as if time had slowed down at this moment.

Everything around them seemed to be moving away, while the distance between them was infinitely closing!

Gwen didn't even know when she was embraced by Rhodey.

When she realized it, she quickly ran away like a startled rabbit.

"Um... it's late, I should go home."

Gwen lowered her head, nervously clutching the hem of her clothes.

"It is quite late." Rhodey looked at the time on his watch; it was almost 9 o'clock without him realizing it, no wonder there were only a few people left in the park.

There were even a few homeless people appearing.

"Let's go, I'll take you home."

Rhodey said.

Then he reached out and took Gwen's small hand, leading the girl who kept her head down, too shy to look at him, towards the park exit.

Behind him, Gwen looked down at their tightly clasped hands, feeling a sweetness in her heart, a feeling she had never experienced before.

"Is this what love feels like?"

Gwen thought to herself.

However, on the surface, they had only just met today.

Gwen wondered if this development was too fast.

Although they had actually known each other for several days.

But Rhodey didn't know she was Spider-Woman, did he?

"He must be very good at making girls happy, right?"

Gwen looked at Rhodey, who was walking ahead, and thought.

Thinking that Rhodey might have treated other girls as well as he treated her tonight, Gwen felt a little uncomfortable, even a bit sour.

Leaving the park, Rhodey took Gwen back to the car.

After getting in the car, he noticed that Gwen's mood was a bit off; she seemed to be intentionally avoiding his gaze.

Rhodey thought for a moment and probably understood the reason.

"What are you thinking?"

So Rhodey asked proactively.

Hearing that, Gwen also looked up at him and said, "Have you had many girlfriends before? All those things just now, you've practiced them on other girls, right?"

"I don't deny that I have many women around me," Rhodey said, "But as for girlfriends, to be honest, I only had two during my student days, and the last one was when I was in college."

"Only two?"

Gwen was a little disbelieving.

Rhodey was simply too good at it, making Gwen feel that he must be an Aquaman.

"Only two, no more," Rhodey said, "But those who weren't girlfriends, they never stopped coming."

Rhodey's honesty made Gwen not know what to say next.

Blame him for being too promiscuous?

But before today, they hadn't really met in the true sense.
