Yubin was with his mother at the hospital, checking on the possibilities of stomach replacement surgery. "The person's stomach looks healthy, and their blood type is compatible with your son" The doctor noted every detail while Yubin's mother noted every detail. "Okay, so that's all?" She asked, and the doctor nodded, "We'll just need to do blood, urine, and stool tests to find out if the person who suggested euthanasia actually has a blood type compatible with your child," The doctor confirmed this before releasing them.
Yubin sat in the hospital reception area, where he watched his mother talking to the receptionist about scheduling a blood test, when a woman, coincidentally the same one who was going to perform the euthanasia and give her stomach to him entered the room where he had been was before; it was a woman named Kyu Nagyung.
Yubin continued watching Nagyung enter the room; she was the same age as him, with short greenish hair. He didn't know how to talk to her.
When Nagyung's appointment ended, she sat next to him while her mother scheduled the blood test. "So... You're the boy who's going to receive the stomach transplant, aren't you?" Nagyung asked. Yubin, not knowing what to say to her, simply nodded.
"I understand, you're not much of a talker, are you?" Nagyung chuckled slightly while Yubin trembled the whole time. Suddenly, their mothers arrived. "Our children seem to be getting along well, don't they?" Yubin's mother spoke to Nagyung's mother, which made Yubin tremble even more. "We could go out, the four of us today, couldn't we?" Nagyung's mother said, and everyone there nodded.
8:00 PM
Yubin, Nagyung, and both their mothers were in a square near a shopping mall in Dobong. Nagyung was ordering whatever food she wanted, while Yubin couldn't eat anything. Suddenly, she looked at him and said, "Don't worry, I'm eating... for you." She placed a hand on Yubin's shoulder, and he smiled. "I thought you were cool..." Yubin smiled.
That made Yubin genuinely smile; he hadn't expected such a kind gesture—especially from someone he had just met—so, as a way of saying thank you, he bought her some food.
