Chapter 6 - CHAPTER SIX : CLASH BENEATH Shaking EARTH

The forest no longer felt alive.

It felt watchful.

Every rustling leaf carried tension. Every shadow hid intent. Even the wind moved cautiously, as if aware that blood would soon stain the earth again.

Hidden among trees, rocks, and underground tunnels, the beastlings prepared for war.

Anugus stood at the center of his people, silent and composed.

Around him, warriors moved swiftly—burying weapons, setting traps, marking escape routes.

"Divide into smaller packs," Anugus ordered calmly.

A bear beastling bowed slightly. "To confuse their advance, Leader?"

"Yes," Anugus replied. "Humans rely on order. We will give them uncertainty."

Rabbit scouts planted mana-charged spears beneath fallen leaves. Panther archers climbed trees, blending into darkness. Wolf warriors sharpened blades glowing faintly with nature mana.

Rio approached nervously.

"Chief… do we truly stand a chance?"

Anugus looked toward the distant horizon.

"Victory is never certain," he said quietly. "Only our resolve is."

The March of Steel

Miles away, synchronized footsteps shook the ground.

Captain Liam Skycross marched at the front of a massive army.

Two thousand soldiers advanced like a moving fortress.

Shields locked together.

Cavalry guarded the flanks.

Mages walked behind defensive ranks, hands glowing with mana.

"Maintain formation!" Liam commanded.

A lieutenant spoke cautiously. "Forest visibility is poor, Captain."

Liam narrowed his eyes.

"That means they're already watching us."

The air suddenly grew heavy.

Then—

WHOOOOOSH!

Arrows rained from above.

Mana-infused spears followed.

"SHIELDS UP!" soldiers shouted.

Explosions erupted on impact.

Fire spread across the ground.

Water blasts shattered formations.

Lightning surged through armored ranks.

Several soldiers fell instantly.

One spear struck the earth—

BOOM!

A violent shockwave tore through the formation.

"Ambush!" a mage cried.

Liam's expression hardened.

"Forward!" he roared. "Do not slow down! Break through!"

The army surged deeper into the forest.

Rangers on the Move

Far behind the battlefield, Ashura's rangers moved silently through the trees.

Arthur led his squad.

His face was calm—but his eyes carried worry.

A young ranger whispered, "Do you think peace is still possible?"

Arthur shook his head slightly.

"Not after this much blood."

An elf ranger added, "We observe first. We intervene only if necessary."

Arthur tightened his grip on his sword.

"…Let's hope we're not already too late."

The Battlefield

The dense forest suddenly opened into a wide plain.

Liam's army halted.

Across the field stood the beastlings.

Weapons raised.

Silent.

At their center stood Anugus.

For the first time, the two leaders faced each other.

Liam studied him.

A young leader… yet fearless.

Anugus stared back.

This man carries too many victories.

Wind passed between them like a warning.

Liam raised his blade.

"CHARGE!"

Human forces rushed forward.

Archers released volleys.

Mages launched blazing projectiles.

Fireballs and wind blades tore through the air.

Anugus didn't move.

He simply spoke—

"Now."

Hidden archers unleashed another rain of arrows and spears.

But this time—

"Barrier Formation!" Liam commanded.

Golden shields formed overhead.

Explosions crashed harmlessly against magical defenses.

Human soldiers laughed.

"Your tricks won't work twice!"

Anugus watched calmly.

Then he smiled.

A small, knowing smirk.

Liam noticed instantly.

…and his instincts screamed danger.

The ground trembled.

Then violently—

CRAAAAACK!

Massive holes opened beneath human ranks.

Soldiers fell into hidden pits.

From underground tunnels, beastling warriors erupted upward.

"SECOND PACK — ATTACK!"

Chaos exploded.

Steel clashed.

Magic collided with raw instinct.

The war had begun.

Battle Unleashed

A wolf warrior lunged forward.

"Nature Fang Strike!"

Green energy tore through shields.

A human mage countered—

"Flame Burst!"

Fire expanded outward.

Lightning flashed as Anugus moved.

"Volt Step."

He vanished and reappeared instantly, electricity trailing behind him.

Meanwhile Liam advanced relentlessly.

"Magma Edge!"

His blade burned molten red, melting weapons upon contact.

Duel of Leaders

Liam thrust toward a fallen beastling—

CLANG!

The strike was blocked.

Anugus stood before him.

"So," Liam said with a faint grin, "you're their leader."

"And you," Anugus replied calmly, "are the storm chasing my people."

"War doesn't chase," Liam said. "It conquers."

Lightning sparked around Anugus.

"Not today."

They clashed.

Elements Collide

Fire met lightning in a violent explosion.

"Magma Cleaver!" Liam roared.

Molten energy split the earth.

Anugus dodged.

"Thunder Veil!"

Electric currents surrounded him, accelerating his movements.

Roots burst from the ground to bind Liam.

"Predictable," Liam muttered.

"Infernal Surge!"

Flames incinerated the roots instantly.

Their battle shook the battlefield itself.

Liam fought with overwhelming destruction.

Anugus fought with adaptive precision.

The Nature of Mana

Across the battlefield, elemental forces collided.

Mana's nature depended on:

Bloodline

Environment

Personality

Mastery

Four Primary Elements existed:

Fire

Water

Ground

Wind

Combined elements formed advanced types:

Electricity

Ice

Metal

Magma

Fog

Poison

Light

And whispered only in legend—

The Fifth Element.

Aether — Space itself.

A power few believed real.

Its time had not yet come.

The Fall

After nearly an hour of battle, exhaustion spread.

Anugus staggered.

Liam seized the moment.

"Magma Descent!"

A devastating strike slammed Anugus into the ground.

Dust filled the air.

When it cleared—

Liam stood with his foot on Anugus's chest.

"Enough!" Liam declared.

The battlefield froze.

Beastlings dropped their weapons.

Liam raised his sword.

"Witness humanity's victory!"

Before the strike could fall—

A voice echoed.

"Stand down."

Light flashed across the battlefield.

Explosions forced human soldiers backward.

Ashura's Rangers had arrived.

Arthur vs Liam

Arthur dashed forward.

Their swords collided instantly.

CLANG!

Shockwaves spread outward.

Liam's eyes widened.

"…You."

Arthur's voice was calm. "This ends here."

They exchanged rapid strikes.

"Have we met before?" Liam asked while blocking.

Arthur answered with action.

"Wind Breaker Strike!"

Compressed air forced Liam backward.

Liam smiled slightly.

"So Ashura sends monsters now…"

Ashura's Declaration

An elf ranger stepped forward.

"These people are now under Ashura's protection."

His voice echoed across the battlefield.

"Return to your empire."

A pause.

"If you advance again…"

"Ashura will enter the war."

Silence followed.

Liam clenched his fists.

"…Retreat," he ordered finally.

Human forces withdrew.

Aftermath

Rangers healed the wounded.

Anugus was lifted carefully.

He looked at Arthur.

"…You saved us."

Arthur shook his head.

"We stopped a war."

He extended his hand.

"From today… you are under Ashura."

Anugus accepted.

"You are no longer outsiders."

"You are one of us."

For the first time since battle began—

Peace touched the battlefield.

But far away, unseen forces were already moving.

Because wars never truly ended.

They only waited.
