Chapter 26 - Someone Unwanted in the Bathing Chamber
Haron took her next on the floor of the bath chamber and the second debt was paid.
By the time he was done, he was the only one on her mind, the evidence of his pleasure filled her to the brim, and the maps of passion that his teeth had left behind still made her neck painfully sore.
He was still in her, his body still pressed against her from behind.
His fingers hovered over the cut on her scalp and despite her panting, she stiffened.
"I'm sorry," he said, "I didn't mean it."
It was about slamming her against the wall.
"Haron—"
"Your Majesty!" Someone yelled as he rushed into the bed chamber beyond the door.
Ismena's gaze snapped to the door.
What was going on?
Why had Rulo, one of Haron's closest guards, rushed into the room like that? Why had he shouted with so much urgency?
"Go. Away."
"But your Majesty," Rulo sounded closer to the door, but he would not open it.
That made Ismena even confused.
