Chapter 15 - No Way

"How are you… Tiger?"

A voice.

It didn't echo through the air.

It echoed inside his bones.

He freezes.

"K–What?"

The same voice echoes again.

Tiger realizes he's lying on the ground. He looks around.

The ground felt unreal — like stone shaped from memory, not matter.

The same place.

"Yes," the voice answers calmly. "You're exactly where you were."

Tiger lifts his head. The sky above holds thin clouds, fading little by little. As his focus sharpens, the fog clears.

"That's you…"

"Yes. It's me."

The same God he met before.

The light around him wasn't warm.

It was sterile.

Like judgment disguised as divinity.

Now fully visible.

A radiant white royal throne floats behind him, glowing with divine light. The God descends the stairs of his throne gracefully.

"Don't be afraid. Fear wasn't the problem.

Control was. Tiger thought.

I won't throw you away this time."

"Afraid?" Tiger mutters.

"I don't even know what that feels like."

The God pauses mid-step.

Before he can continue speaking, Tiger walks past him, climbs the stairs, and casually sits on the throne. One hand rests along his jawline. One leg folds over the other. The throne didn't reject him. It adjusted.

The God finishes his sentence with closed eyes—

Opens them.

"…Where did he go?"

"I'm above you."

The God slowly turns his head upward.

Tiger sits on the throne.

"How… are you sitting there?" the God asks, stunned. "Didn't the barrier stop you from climbing?"

"Barrier?" Tiger replies. "Nothing stopped me."

"That's impossible. For the first time, the sky flickered.

No one can sit on my throne without permission. No matter how powerful."

Inside, the God thinks: This wasn't rebellion.

This was displacement.

As if the hierarchy itself had shifted. No fear. No hesitation. This is pure disrespect.

Tiger tilts his head. "Are you going to keep staring, or do you have something to say? I don't have all day."

"Get off my throne!" the God shouts.

Tiger's blue eyes shift—

Crimson. Not anger.

Not rage.

Authority.

A deathly red glare locks onto the God.

Silence crushes the air.

Even the light around the throne dimmed slightly.

The God's voice softens instantly. "T–Tiger… would you please step down?"

"Fine. It's not that comfortable anyway."

Tiger rises. As he steps down, the God moves upward. They cross paths on the stairs, exchanging a cold stare. Tiger's red eyes glow brighter, sending a chill even through divinity.

The God quickly reclaims his throne.

Tiger stands below, arms folded across his chest.

The God clears his throat. "You won't… do that again, right?"

"I can't promise."

The God presses a hand to his forehead. What kind of Tiger did I choose?

"Listen carefully," the God continues. "I am your Main God."

The word "Main" carried weight — like there were layers above him too.

"Main God?"

"There are many like me. But I chose you.

Chosen.

Or selected as a piece? Not anyone else."

Tiger narrows his eyes. "And what did you gain by choosing me?"

The God smiles faintly. "Perhaps… the chance to witness true omnipotence. The possibility of the strongest existence—one no one can defeat. I didn't expect you to bypass my barrier… or sit on my throne."

He steps down and paces in the limited space.

"To be honest… I'm interested in your fate. Interest.

That meant experiment.

Your future."

Tiger blinks once.

His red eyes return to blue without him noticing.

"This was only my introduction," the God says. "Next time we meet, we'll discuss the real matter. And… try not to disrespect me again."

Tiger opens his mouth. "My dre—"

Clap. The sound wasn't loud.

It rewrote the scene.

The sound echoes.

Tiger jolts awake.

"No… What does that mean? What are these gods going to tell me about my future?"

He exhales slowly and checks the clock.

2:00 A.M.

The silence of his room felt heavier than the divine realm.

Morning comes.

School feels normal.

But his mind isn't.

Whatever was coming…

It wasn't asking for permission.
