[Connection Established]
As the Mother Box extended its interface and linked to Cyborg, he confirmed the connection—and immediately opened a Boom Tube.
"Good. Then let me send you all back to your home!"
With no interference this time, Cyborg now held full control authority over the Mother Box.
A Boom Tube yawned open in the sky. Under Cyborg's command, every Parademon was seized by a colossal suction force and dragged back toward Apokolips.
Now, only one enemy remained.
"RAAAH!"
Behind Darkseid, another Boom Tube snapped open. Its pull tried to haul him back as well.
The agony in his eyes threw Darkseid off balance, and the Boom Tube opening behind him ignited pure fury.
He resisted with brute force, ripped the foreign objects out of his eyes, and forced himself to stabilize—he needed to recover fast.
Then he slammed both fists into the ground.
A shockwave detonated outward, flattening everything within a five-hundred-meter radius into bare, blasted ground.
Wonder Woman blocked the force with her bracers. Shazam endured it on the endurance of Atlas and the courage of Achilles.
Cyborg's position in the sky was outside the attack's reach. The Flash sprinted out of range—and returned the instant the shockwave dissipated.
Meanwhile, Ben was dragging Superman's body away from the frontline.
He didn't rush back.
He needed Superman awake—and restored.
Heatblast's species, the Pyronites, radiated energy similar to sunlight.
Even though it was Ben's first transformation and his control was still basic, he gambled on a thought:
Could he simulate yellow sun radiation and recharge Superman?
"I… how long was I out?"
Under the yellow-sun-like light Ben produced, Superman's injuries visibly healed.
"How long was I down?"
His eyes opened fully. Awareness returned. Then he rose into the air on his own power.
"Not long. This is perfect timing."
Ben looked up—Cyborg had already opened Boom Tubes and was sending the Parademons back. The endgame had arrived.
If they could send Darkseid back and close the Boom Tube, they won.
Superman accelerated toward the battlefield in a blur. Ben ignited his whole body and rocketed after him.
At the center of the fight, Shazam clenched lightning-wreathed fists and tried to physically shove Darkseid into the Boom Tube.
Even while being dragged by the Tube's pull, Darkseid tanked the blows—and seized Shazam, pinning him to the ground.
"I will crush you—like an ant!"
Darkseid raised his fist to finish it—
and Superman hit him like a meteor.
A punch detonated against Darkseid's body, breaking his balance. Then Superman followed with rapid, continuous strikes, driving him step by step toward the Boom Tube.
"Insolent! I am Darkseid!"
As the Boom Tube loomed closer, Darkseid finally recognized the reality of failure—and his rage spiked.
He spread a massive hand to seize Superman—
but Wonder Woman's Lasso of Truth had already bound his right arm.
At the same time, from inside the Boom Tube itself, a streak of blazing green light shot out—snaring Darkseid's left arm and hauling him deeper toward Apokolips.
Hal Jordan surged out of the Tube with Batman in tow.
Batman landed directly onto Darkseid's body, unclipped his utility belt, and triggered the micro-thrusters packed inside.
"Now, Cyborg—close the Tube while you can!"
Ben arrived back at the battlefield and saw Darkseid already halfway forced into the portal, still struggling violently.
He shouted up to Cyborg, urging him to seal it immediately.
"I'm closing it!"
Cyborg was already doing it—but the Mother Box flashed an alert:
insufficient power.
"Damn it! I don't have enough energy to close the Boom Tube—I need a massive energy burst!"
Hearing that, Shazam—just back on his feet—shot straight up to Cyborg.
"Leave it to me!"
He and Cyborg disappeared into the clouds.
Ben touched down, palms gathering and compressing flame.
Darkseid was restrained and nearly expelled—but he was still fighting like a beast.
Ben briefly considered reverting to human form and scanning Darkseid's DNA… and discarded it immediately.
Too risky. Better to get Superman's DNA later.
"Shazam!"
Shazam's voice rang from the sky.
A magic lightning bolt crashed onto him and Cyborg—instantly charging the Mother Box to full.
Sensing the Boom Tube beginning to shut, Darkseid felt a humiliation unlike anything before.
But if he was going to lose—
he would take a souvenir.
A bargaining chip for the next invasion.
With a desperate surge, Darkseid broke free—shaking off the "toys"—and grabbed Superman, yanking him close.
"Kryptonian. You're coming with me!"
"Like hell I am!"
Superman's eyes blazed. Heat vision slammed into Darkseid's ruined eyes.
The pain forced Darkseid's grip to loosen.
Superman immediately drove a brutal headbutt into him, staggering him—Darkseid's hand slipping away completely.
"Explosion!"
That was Ben.
He hurled the flame sphere he'd been compressing—dense light and heat packed tight—into Darkseid.
The impact detonated outward.
The fire didn't truly hurt Darkseid.
But the shockwave from the blast was the last push they needed—
it knocked Darkseid backward through the closing Boom Tube.
The portal sealed cleanly behind him.
"Haa… finally. It's over."
Hal exhaled and waved at Cyborg descending from the air.
"Nice work, buddy! Where's that big guy with the personality of a kid?"
Hal remembered it was Shazam who had delivered the final charge—so why had only Cyborg come back?
"He's… busy. Uh. Important date."
Cyborg, now sworn to secrecy, answered awkwardly.
Ben caught the weirdness and smirked—then smoothly redirected:
"Hey. Before we talk about that—bring back the people who were taken."
Cyborg immediately acted, reopening the Boom Tube and returning every captive civilian.
Hal flew in to help catch and guide them down safely.
"The enemy could come back at any time."
Batman didn't relax for a second, staring up at the Boom Tube linking Earth and Apokolips.
Even with Cyborg holding Mother Box control, Apokoliptian tech could always produce another Mother Box and try again.
With the crisis resolved, Ben's transformation finally timed out.
The Omnitrix clicked, and he reverted to a fifteen-year-old boy again.
Grinning like he'd just won the greatest game of his life, Ben pitched an idea:
"Right. To deal with crises like this whenever they happen—we should form a team! How about calling it… The Dad-Worriers?"
