Ruby clenched her fists so tightly her knuckles turned pale. Every instinct in her body screamed at her to pounce across the room and give Rah a piece of her mind. The only thing stopping her was the composure displayed by Hazel and Racheal. They were just as furious as she was, perhaps even more, yet neither of them made a move. That alone was enough to force Ruby to remain seated.
"If you think my darling would choose a nobody over the women who stood beside him from the very beginning, then you may as well declare yourself insane." Hazel sneered disdainfully, her golden eyes narrowing into dangerous slits.
Her words were met with mocking laughter.
Rah threw her head back and laughed openly. The sound echoed through the room like a challenge. When she looked back at them, her fangs were fully exposed and her crimson eyes glittered with amusement.
"You are either living in denial or you've mastered the art of lying to yourselves."
The words landed heavily.
