"That's why everyone placed their hopes on Lin," Racheal added quietly, her voice carrying traces of lingering doubt. "They believed he would be the one capable of stopping his brother. That was why we suspected him first when Lin died."
Damian silently observed the fear lingering within his wives and Rin, yet he himself remained strangely calm.
This was not the calmness born from ignorance nor was it the confidence of someone blind to danger.
Deep within him existed a crawling instinct that whispered one thing repeatedly.
