Chapter 63 - Chapter 63: A Very Satisfying and Exciting Anime

"Who are you? How do you know about this channel?"

"Who I am doesn't matter. If you want to win, trust me."

"I learned a valuable lesson. The key to real combat is still... humans?"

"You bastard, who the hell are you?"

"Long time no see, brother. I am Lelouch vi Britannia, the eldest son of the late Princess Marianne, and the seventeenth in line to the imperial throne."

"Lelouch? But you should have..."

"Died... right? I'm back, Your Highness, to change everything!"

"Pretty words alone can't change the world."

"We must create a world where Nunnally can live happily."

"Don't get the wrong idea. The enemy isn't the Britannians, it's Britannia itself! If you want to rebel, start a war. Don't drag the people into it. Be prepared to fight and uphold justice!"

"Don't make me laugh. How can we trust someone who just talks the talk and hides their face?"

"I understand. I'll show you. But I won't show you my face—I'll show you my power. If you see me turn the impossible into reality, you'll believe me then, won't you?"

"You're mistaken, Jeremiah. He's not the killer. I killed Clovis!"

Weeks passed, and episode after episode of Code Geass aired.

The first episode offered little plot insight, but by the second, the world-building began to take shape, and the story began to unfold.

The narrative grew increasingly captivating.

Though he had obtained the King's Power from the mysterious C.C., the Male Lead remained trapped in a vortex of conflict. Soon, an enemy pilot in a Knightmare Frame tracked him down.

Initially, he considered simply ordering the pilot to surrender the machine. However, he soon realized he needed to see the person in person to use the King's Power. He then impersonated a duke's son, luring the pilot down before successfully using the King's Power to seize the Knightmare Frame.

From a hidden location, he remotely commanded the so-called "terrorists," leading them in fierce battles against the Empire's forces.

The entire conflict resembled a game of Chess. Under his command, the Empire's Knightmare Frames were systematically destroyed. Had the enemy not deployed the Lancelot, a more powerful machine, the Male Lead might have secured a decisive victory.

After evading Lancelot, the Male Lead used his King's Power to infiltrate the enemy's stronghold.

Just as the "terrorists" were about to be found and captured, the Male Lead took the Third Prince hostage and forced him to order a ceasefire, saving their lives.

At the end of the second episode, the Male Lead's true identity was revealed: the eldest son of the late Empress Marianne and the seventeenth heir to the imperial throne.

The third episode began by addressing the Male Lead's situation.

The empire believed he had died during the occupation of Neon. The Third Prince urged him to return, but the Male Lead retorted, "Do you want to use me as a diplomatic tool again?"

This led to the story of his mother: a Knight Duke of noble status, yet born a commoner. This made her an eyesore to the other princes and princesses, ultimately leading to her assassination. The Male Lead's own use as a diplomatic tool was also tied to his mother's death.

The Male Lead pressed the Third Prince to reveal who had ordered his mother's assassination, but the prince vehemently denied any involvement.

Later, the Male Lead used his King's Power to extract the truth: the Second Prince and Second Princess were the ones who knew.

After obtaining valuable intelligence, the Male Lead shot and killed the Third Prince.

The battle ended, and the story shifted to the daily routine at school, while also elaborating on the King's Power.

A female classmate the Male Lead had barely seen before came to school. This girl, Karen, turned out to be one of the "terrorists" from back then.

The Male Lead used his King's Power on Karen to question her about the incident. However, unaware that the King's Power could only be used once on the same person, he was quickly suspected by Karen. Fortunately, he quickly used his intelligence to dispel her suspicions and avert the crisis.

During this time, there was also a scene of Karen taking a bath. Though plot-driven, it served as a bit of fan service.

The end of the third episode saw Suzaku arrested for the murder of the Third Prince.

This was a frame-up, as the Third Prince had clearly been killed by the Male Lead.

In the first episode, Suzaku appeared to have been shot dead, but he had actually survived and been rescued. In the second episode, he was the one piloting Lancelot, the mech that had ruined the Male Lead's plans.

The Male Lead remained unaware that Suzaku was piloting Lancelot. He continued to regard Suzaku as his closest friend and was determined to rescue him. Furthermore, he needed to win over Karen and her allies, securing their loyalty for his own purposes. In the fourth episode, he donned a black suit, tied on a black cape, and put on a black helmet. Operating under the codename "Zero," he used the King's Power to put on a public spectacle.

Unfortunately, despite successfully rescuing Suzaku, the latter did not approve of the Male Lead's methods and soon returned to the court to face trial.

Fortunately, the Male Lead voluntarily confessed to killing the Third Prince. Moreover, during the rescue, he used the King's Power to frame Jeremiah, the leader of the enemy forces, making him the primary suspect. Ultimately, Suzaku was cleared of all charges.

Though he failed to recruit Suzaku into the rebel army, the Male Lead had at least achieved his goal of rescuing him. Moreover, his actions successfully earned the trust of Karen and her allies, making the operation a resounding success.

Over three consecutive episodes, the pacing has been expertly controlled. Despite a series of major and minor crises, the Male Lead successfully resolves each one using his King's Power or his own intelligence, avoiding any sense of frustration and instead leaving viewers feeling exhilarated.

Each episode ends with a cliffhanger. The second episode concludes with the Male Lead holding the Third Prince Clovis hostage and revealing his identity. The third episode ends with Suzaku being framed as the murderer of the Third Prince.

The ending of the fourth episode is particularly brilliant. While Nunnally, the Male Lead's beloved blind sister, is watching a television report about Suzaku, the mysterious C.C. suddenly appears behind her, her intentions unknown.

The suspense, coupled with the animation's continuously thrilling plot, naturally sparks intense discussion among viewers.

As viewer discussions grow, the animation's popularity steadily increases.

Thanks to the momentum from Death Note, Lelouch already had a very high level of popularity after its first episode. Within just three weeks, its popularity surged, transforming it from a popular animation to a super-popular one.
