Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Jonouchi: This is Tech Magic!

"Now it's my turn."

Wearing a conspicuous Duel Disk on his left hand, Jonouchi looked at the bound Kyoko Sakura and spoke.

He used his right hand to draw one from that thick pile of cards.

"Come on!"

"Tiger Axe!"

The strange card slapped on the Duel Disk generated a materialized monster appearing.

That was a tiger holding a giant axe and able to stand.

Roar!

"!"

Hands unable to move, Kyoko Sakura tried to make the long spear held in her hand produce extension and change.

But suddenly finding it unsuccessful, she could only hurriedly retreat backwards.

Bang!

The giant axe slashed on the ground, smashing out tiny cracks.

"Roar!!"

The tiger chased up roaring, continuing to wave the giant axe to slash.

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Even bound by the strange hexagram, Kyoko Sakura's flexibility wasn't affected too much; she dodged the attacks very sensitively every time.

"Lancer! Why not counterattack?"

Kayneth asked doubtfully looking at Kyoko Sakura who could only dodge passively through the familiar.

"Of course I can't do it. This strange magic circle sealed my attack ability."

As if hearing his questioning, Kyoko Sakura responded indignantly.

If she could counterattack normally, she would have done it long ago.

Precisely because she couldn't do it, she appeared so wretched.

"Lancer's Magic Resistance should be very high."

"Even so, is she restricted by Caster's magecraft?"

"It seems the opponent is not as simple as we imagined..."

...

"Tsk, normal attacks won't work?"

Trying several times, absolutely no intention of being able to break free, in desperation she used another ability.

Crack!

Chains like brambles shuttled in the air, then pierced through the tiger in front.

"Only sealed ordinary attack abilities..."

Judging this point, Kyoko Sakura subsequently looked at that conspicuous machine on Jonouchi's left arm.

"That is the root of your use of magecraft, right?!"

Without any meaning of politeness at all, she aimed at that point to attack.

Whoosh!

Like iron chains, the red brambles rushed over.

"This won't do..."

Facing the raid very calmly, Jonouchi quickly slapped another card on the Duel Disk.

"Oh!"

This time appearing was a warrior wearing a helmet and holding a heavy axe in one hand.

He waved the axe, bouncing the incoming bramble chain lock away.

"Now! Launch attack!"

Issuing instructions, the warrior jumped up approaching Kyoko Sakura.

"Hmph, who would be hit by this kind of slow attack!"

Looking disdainfully at the slash jumping down from the high sky, Kyoko Sakura dodged her body to the side.

Bang!

The giant axe chopped on the ground, stirring up shocks.

"!"

But before Kyoko Sakura could say anything, she suddenly sensed a sound coming from another direction.

Whoosh!

In an emergency, she dragged the bramble strip to carry herself away from the original position, avoiding the surprise attack.

"Is the familiar able to be summoned more than one?"

Looking at the exactly same warrior holding a heavy axe, Kyoko Sakura frowned and said.

Theoretically looking, Caster himself wasn't some tricky guy, but the magecraft and familiars he could use were quite special.

It was a kind of thing people had never seen before...

"Movements are really flexible..."

"Seems it's not easy to make you hand over the Dragon Ball simply over there."

The pincer attack of two monsters failed to achieve results; Jonouchi was a bit surprised.

Compared to the rigid turn-based offense and defense of duels, actual combat had more possibilities of dodging.

Bang!!!

Clang!

Simply couldn't hit the opponent...

'Cannot completely treat it as a duel...'

Although the form adopted was very close, it wasn't a duel in the true sense.

'Dragging on like this is not a solution either.'

Glancing at the Life Points on the Duel Disk, Jonouchi had a headache.

Because he lacked a so-called "Master," the magical energy source became a problem. To not exit, he needed to maintain "LP" continuously.

In the case of no Master... Life Points would decrease continuously; he couldn't risk too much to fight.

Judging from the girl in front being able to defeat "Gearfried the Iron Knight" with one blow, the attack power was at least 1800 or above.

If hit, he would be very dangerous...

'Gamble...'

Glancing at the set cards and hand cards, Jonouchi also had a decision.

He reached out to draw the card at the top of the deck.

'Here again, it's a card not in my deck again...'

Simply unable to view what cards were exactly in the deck, the drawn cards were also unknown.

What Jonouchi was distressed about was exactly this point.

Some cards he recognized were fine; those he didn't recognize were prone to cognitive short circuits.

Change of Heart

'This should be Bakura's card, right?'

'Control? According to the previous situation, it should also be able to control this girl...'

'But just controlling, I can't possibly make her commit suicide.'

Inserting that green Spell Card into the Spell & Trap Zone, Jonouchi struggled.

He came to seize the Dragon Ball, but didn't harbor such extreme thoughts in fighting.

"Right..."

"Come on!"

Thinking of a very useful method, Jonouchi subsequently activated that card.

"What?!"

A white and a black girl appeared on the scene; Kyoko Sakura suddenly had a bad premonition.

Invisible ripples transmitted over; for a time her eyes became dull.

"Now, go help me bring your Master's Dragon Ball over!"

Although still not knowing how long the duration was, Jonouchi believed it shouldn't be too short.

So he issued such an order immediately.

Whoosh!

Looking at the disappearing opponent, Jonouchi suddenly thought of a matter.

"At this time should I lift her restriction?"

Thinking that the opponent's ordinary attack ability was sealed by "Spellbinding Circle," Jonouchi realized later.

...

"Caster seems to have controlled Lancer?"

"This is too strong, right?"

Hiding in a certain place, witnessing that scene throughout, Waver was a bit panicked.

Whether summoned familiars or that mysterious magecraft...

None were things he had seen; now even the hostile Servant could be manipulated...

"The most unstable opponent?"

Lelouch remained silent, giving a continuously high evaluation after a while.

If it were him, the first time he would definitely let Lancer commit suicide, and then go to the Master himself to seize the Dragon Ball.

That would reduce a lot of risks; after all, he still didn't know what Noble Phantasm and trump cards Lancer possessed.

Originally trusting the ability of Geass very much, he was also a bit unwilling to face Caster at this moment.

Because he couldn't figure out how many ambushed backhands this Caster exactly had.

Judging from the machine on the arm, the opponent had already inserted full of unknown cards there, which meant "traps" existed at any time.

Attacking and facing would both trigger the opponent's magecraft, so meeting with this person would be quite dangerous.

The best way was to snipe him from far away...

The mecha held in his hand seemed to be the best means...

But the problem came... Would ultra-long-range attacks and area attacks trigger Caster's magecraft?

[TN: Change of Heart: Select 1 monster on the opponent's field to activate. Gain control of that monster until the End Phase. Just like the effect description, it is controlling the opponent, only having a time limit. But having excessively high resistance can also shorten the controlled time. Can only say fortunately it was Jonouchi encountered; if changing to other unconscionable ones, the Lancer Class would have to embark on the joyful "tradition" again.]
