Chapter 129 - Chapter 129: Queen Frigga Dies, Everyone Grieves!

But it was too late.

The Dark Elf warrior stormed the control room, destroyed the shield generator, and allowed the Dark Elf fleet to swarm in.

Everything was incredibly tense. At the critical moment, the Ark crashed deep into the palace.

Countless palace guards were crushed.

The massive impact caused parts of the palace to collapse.

Inside the ship, the Dark Elves waited. Suddenly, they launched their attack, easily dispatching the Asgardian guards. The guards, wielding cold weapons (swords/spears), were almost helpless against the Dark Elves' energy blasters and black hole grenades.

Meanwhile, the Dark Elf King Malekith stepped out and casually destroyed the Throne of Asgard.

This action quickly attracted more Asgardian soldiers to the throne room.

In the dungeons, Loki watched the chaos unfold. He still didn't know that his earlier actions would lead to something he would regret for the rest of his life.

The scene shifted again. Odin easily dealt with the invading Dark Elves in the main hall.

But it was useless. He realized he had fallen for a diversion tactic. The enemy's target wasn't him. It was his Queen, Frigga.

Or rather, their true target was the Aether (Reality Stone) inside Jane Foster.

Sure enough, the scene shifted. Malekith had arrived in Frigga's chambers.

"Stand down, creature," Frigga warned. "You may still survive this."

"I have survived worse, woman," Malekith said coldly.

"Who are you?" Frigga asked.

"I am Malekith. And I would have what is mine."

Malekith looked past Frigga, aiming straight for Jane.

But in the next second, Frigga slashed him across the face with her sword, drawing blood.

They exchanged blows. Surprisingly, Malekith, the King of Dark Elves, was completely dominated by Frigga. within a few moves, she had him pinned.

However, just as Thor and Odin (watching the video) breathed a sigh of relief, they saw the Dark Elf warrior (Kurse)—the one who caused the initial chaos—sneak up behind Frigga. He grabbed her easily, catching her off guard.

"You have taken something, child," Malekith said, regaining his composure. "Give it back."

He reached out to extract the Aether from Jane.

But he found nothing. It was an illusion. An illusion cast by Frigga.

Case solved!

Loki's mastery of illusion magic came from his mother. And clearly, Frigga was no slouch—she had completely fooled Malekith.

Realizing he had been tricked, Malekith roared in fury: "Witch!"

Frigga smiled faintly at the insult. Malekith stormed up to her and demanded: "Where is the Aether?"

"I will never tell you," Frigga said defiantly.

"I believe you," Malekith nodded, acknowledging her courage.

In the next second, Kurse stabbed Frigga through the heart from behind. She died instantly.

Thor arrived just in time to see this.

"NO!"

Thor roared, throwing Mjolnir at Malekith. The hammer hit his face, scarring him, but it was too late.

Malekith and Kurse escaped. Odin arrived moments later, also one step too late.

Father and son were both just seconds late. But those seconds cost them their beloved.

Jane Foster could only watch helplessly as Frigga died protecting her.

The scene shifted to a grand funeral.

Odin and Thor watched as the boat carrying Frigga's body drifted away. An archer fired a flaming arrow, igniting the pyre. Her body turned into starlight, ascending into the cosmos.

All of Asgard mourned. Thousands of floating lanterns were released, turning into specks of light that filled the night sky.

Meanwhile, a guard brought the news to Loki in the dungeon.

Loki remained impassive on the surface. But moments later, after the guard left, he lost control. A wave of telekinetic force blasted the furniture in his cell against the walls.

He finally realized: his mother died because of his hint. He wanted the beast to cause some trouble for Thor.

Just a prank.

And it led to this.

The screen went black. The video ended.

In the royal chambers, only the heavy breathing of Odin and Thor remained.

Thor especially. He knew from the diary that his mother would die. But seeing the reality of it—the brutal stab, the helplessness—was devastating.

Grief and rage exploded in his heart.

"Malekith!"

Thor growled, a burst of lightning erupting from his body.

His divine power, which had stagnated for years, surged violently under the stimulus of his mother's death. He broke through a bottleneck.

But immersed in rage, he didn't even notice.

Odin noticed. He saw the lightning crackling around his son, stronger than before.

Although this progress came at the cost of his wife's life (in the video).

Odin felt a mix of sorrow and relief. This vast kingdom would eventually be handed to Thor. He needed to be strong.

Otherwise, would Thor really end up as the "Fisherman King" ruling a village, as Lucas predicted?

That would be too shabby.

"Calm down, my son," Odin said. "Do not let anger control your reason. Learn to control the energy inside you."

"Things haven't reached that point yet, have they? Your mother is alive and well right now. Since we know this will happen, we can prevent it in the future."

Odin comforted his son.

Although his heart was bleeding, he knew this wasn't the time to grieve. It was time to change fate.
