Chapter 156 - Chapter 69: The Great War is About to Begin, Athena and Poseidon's Bet

"Lancelot, you..."

Gawain stared, stunned, at her subordinate's pierced chest. Not only her, but even Lancelot was stunned. She hadn't expected the other party to not even block her casual attack. She had no intention of harming the other party, yet the other party had charged directly into her sword. Suddenly, a thought popped into Lancelot's mind.

"This is a conspiracy. No, I can't leave the Queen in such a dangerous place."

Thinking of this, Lancelot no longer hesitated and walked towards Nasha, who was holding Zeus. She now needed to 'rescue' the Queen; leaving her here would allow ill-intentioned people to harm her.

"What are you doing, Lancelot?"

Seeing Lancelot walking towards Zeus, Mordred instantly stepped forward, blocking Lancelot's path. She didn't want her beloved mother to be touched by this purple-haired person, or she would definitely go crazy.

"Move aside, Mordred, I need to take the Queen away. It's too dangerous here."

"Don't even think about touching the Queen."

Hearing Lancelot's declaration, Gawain instantly became anxious. She hadn't expected the other party to attack the Queen again. Gawain quickly rallied the remaining team members and began to surround Lancelot. But even so, she still felt uncertain. She was very familiar with the combat prowess of this First Knight; even now, she hadn't even forced out half of her strength.

"As a fellow Knight of the Round Table, you should understand my strength. I don't want to add the blood of comrades to my hands. Please move aside."

Lancelot said, looking at Gawain. But her attitude and tone when saying such words made Gawain, as a Knight, even more furious.

"How dare you still call yourself a Knight, Lancelot? If you still have a Knight's sense of honor, come with me to see the King."

"Why waste so many words on her? Take her down first."

Before Lancelot could reply, an enraged Mordred, wielding Red Lightning, slashed at Lancelot.

Seeing that an explanation was futile, Lancelot sighed helplessly in her heart; she had no choice but to fight.

"How is this possible? How can you be so strong?"

After barely managing to fight Lancelot for over a hundred rounds, a knocked-down Gawain and Mordred stared in shock at a panting Lancelot.

Even with both of them together, they couldn't take down Lancelot.

Gawain fainted after her exclamation, while Mordred gritted her teeth and stood up again.

She refused to lose to this person who had ill intentions towards her Queen Mother; she wanted to protect her Queen Mother, a wish she had held since childhood.

"I won't let you get close to the Queen; give up, Lancelot!"

At this moment, Nasha, who was guarding in front of Zeus, also stepped forward.

Although her direct combat strength wasn't strong, it didn't mean she couldn't fight; she, too, had to protect the master she served.

Lancelot silently glanced at the two who looked ready to die, then turned and walked away.

If she didn't leave now, she might not be able to later, and then the person behind the scenes would have an even easier time framing her.

"Who?..."

Nasha breathed a sigh of relief, seeing Lancelot's figure gone, but suddenly a strange presence came from behind her.

She was about to turn around when her vision went black and she collapsed.

"Why are you here?"

Mordred looked at the woman in front of her, with whom she had just allied these past two days.

She pretended to be relaxed on the surface, but her heart was extremely tense; the dangerous aura of the other party was still fresh in her memory.

"Of course, to tell you the next step of the plan."

Liang's eyes subtly glanced at Zeus lying on the chair, then she smiled and spoke to Mordred.

"Next step of the plan?"

"Yes, that's right. 'The Queen has been abducted by Lancelot.' Report it to King Arthur this way!

This way, our lovely Queen won't be able to interfere in the matters between you and your father.

You can better deal with your father and become the new King of Great Britain."

"What about Queen Mother?"

Although she spoke nonchalantly, Mordred kept a tight grip on Red Lightning.

If the other party intended to harm her Queen Mother, she would engage in a righteous Knight's duel with them.

"Give her a room with good ventilation and light, and have a few maids accompany her until you become King."

The other party's answer greatly satisfied Mordred.

She gazed adoringly at Zeus, knowing she wouldn't see her for a long time.

Then Mordred sighed, drew Red Lightning, slashed her own arm, and quickly ran out of the backyard.

After Mordred left, Liang lovingly embraced Zeus, as if holding the entire world.

"It's been over ten years; I've thought of you every moment.

Now you're lying quietly in my arms; it feels so good."

Liang murmured, walking and expressing her longing.

With her abnormally increased strength, Liang moved incredibly fast, leaving no trace as she vanished from the palace's rear garden.

After Liang left, other patrol teams, seeing a 'battered' Mordred, gathered around in surprise.

"What happened to you?"

"Take me to the King immediately."

In less than half a day, the news of Lancelot's defection and abduction of the Queen struck all of Great Britain like a bomber.

"King, I am willing to lead a team to rescue Her Majesty the Queen."

"I am willing to go too, King, let me go!"

"Let me personally slay the traitor, Lancelot, King!"

Enraged by Lancelot's actions, the Knights of the Round Table began to petition their great King.

Lancelot had not only stolen their 'dream lover' but also abducted their long-time beautiful chef.

They weren't being so eager just for food, it definitely wasn't for food.

"Enough, quiet down."

Lia scolded with a grim expression.

This was the first time they had seen their King's expression change, so they all obediently sat down.

"Sir Gaheris and Sir Gareth, you two go search for Sir Lancelot's tracks.

Our people are currently suffering from hunger, and we need to contend with Rome."

Saying this, Lia turned and left the conference room.

She had no idea that this decision of hers would push all of Great Britain towards ruin.

After Lia left, the Knights around the Round Table exchanged glances.

They couldn't understand why the King was so indifferent to such a major event as the Queen's 'abduction'.

A Knight named Tristan deeply admired Zeus.

She was profoundly attracted by Zeus's 'virtuous wife and loving mother' demeanor.

She swore that in the future, she too would find a woman with the same temperament as the Queen.

Seeing the King's 'indifference' to such an important matter, it was as if her faith was being trampled.

Thousands of words were stuck in her throat, desperate to be spoken, but the other party was her King.

After a long silence, she finally muttered, "King Arthur doesn't understand people's hearts," and then closed her mouth, walking out of the conference room with difficulty.

She didn't know that her simple sentence had planted a thorn in the hearts of the Knights of the Round Table.

In another world, Hades looked at the stone slab before her and fell into deep thought.

This was given to her by Gaia's sister, Uranus.

According to Uranus, it contained a method to comprehend the Tenth Sense, but Hades had been studying it for decades without any clue, which made the usually calm Hades a bit irritable.

While Hades was studying the stone slab, Poseidon was in a very bad mood because she had once again encountered Athena, that annoying little brat.

She had first set her eyes on this beautiful city built by humans on the Aegean coast, but unexpectedly, the other party suddenly interfered.

This made Poseidon somewhat suspect if the other party was somehow incompatible with her...bah! Poseidon, Poseidon, you, a God King of the Greek Pantheon, are actually believing in Eastern metaphysics; it truly disgraces the Greek gods.

"I say, little girl, how come you're everywhere I go?"

"I'm also very curious why you, this brainless fellow, always block my path."

Hearing Athena's words, Poseidon's lungs nearly burst with anger; she hadn't expected the other party's sharp tongue to have gotten even worse recently.

"You want this city, don't you? Then let's make a bet!"

"How do we bet?"

Seeing Poseidon take the bait, Athena revealed a smile of unknown meaning.
