Ficool

Chapter 1 - 1

In the midst of the night.

Staring at the cement ceiling before him, the man knew this was not his home.

His home, though comfy, had no ceiling and refined walls, making this entire room a sign that he was not in his home anymore.

Living in a third-world country, his home had an open ceiling allowing him to see the roof, its walls either painted or naked.

Standing up, he looked around the new, unknown room before him.

One bed, one cabinet, one chair, and finally one desk, that was everything inside the room he was in.

Except for that, the entire room barely had any design or details within it.

Checking them more closely, he found them all old and of bad quality.

The bed he was sleeping on just a moment ago had legs like twigs.

Lifting the cushion on it, he found that many of the bars beneath were missing.

Smelling the bed sheets, blanket, and pillow, he found them dirty as if they had not been washed for months on end.

Checking the other furniture, they too were in horrible condition.

As if this room had not been cared for in years, and was only meant to keep someone alive — without caring for his comfort or safety.

Opening the cabinet, he found only three sets of clothes inside.

Finally, he looked at the other door, aside from the exit of the room.

Entering it, he found the inside of it to be the bathroom.

Yet this too was in bad condition; the bathtub was chipped, the shower head was leaking drops from its neck, and the toilet bowl's flushing mechanism wasn't working well.

Most of all, in his findings in this place, there was no mirror for him to use.

"Young Master Merm, please wake up." A maid's voice said from just behind the door of the room, waking him up.

It had been more than three days since he got here.

All this time, he had been trying to gather information about what was going on and what the situation of the body he took over was.

From what he learned so far, this body belonged to a family of the strongest swordsmen of the kingdom.

Hailed for generations as the kingdom's strongest military power.

Every member of their family possessed the class: Magic Swordsman or Magic Swordswoman.

Owning all four basic elements, with some even having the other rare ones.

They were not only known for being great at swordsmanship but also at magic casting.

Some even reach the status of Grandmage without having the Mage class.

And this very family had locked the body he was currently residing in from the day this child learned about his class and elements.

Ensuring no one would know about his existence, along with erasing everything about him, to the point that there's not a single painting or image of his face.

A day ago, he somehow found a way to see his current face.

To his surprise, the only difference between this one and the one back in his world was their skin color.

Everything else was fundamentally the same.

"Coming!" he called out to the maid's voice, bending down near the door of his room.

A second later, a small cut appeared at the bottom of the door, where the maid slid over a blackboard.

It contained a small amount of rice, meat, vegetables, fruits, and finally a bowl of soup.

"Well then, I shall now start the counting. Please eat everything within five minutes," the maid said.

"Thank you for the food," the man residing in the body of Merm said, moving back to the table in the room to eat.

"Still, this family is horrible. I thought I got isekai'd for no reason, but to think the body I have now is considered a problem."

Merm said in a low voice, hurrying to eat everything on the plate.

"They lock me in this room, give me only one meal a day, and even took every mirror in this place so I could never see my face."

He sighed, thinking about how cruel this family was compared to the noble families he had read about in series like this before.

Unlike this family, those horrible families at least provided the MC with a decent life.

Allowing him to move freely around the house, offering meals and service from maids, and even letting their MC try to prove he could do better.

"Thanks for the food," Merm said once again, handing the blackboard back to her.

"I hope you enjoy it, Young Master," the maid said before locking the door from the outside again and leaving the area.

"Hahha, at least the gods are not cruel enough to leave me like this," he said, looking at the panel before him.

[The gods have understood your situation, and because of this, the system will provide you with help.]

"Status," he called out, looking at the class and element affinity section.

[Class: Farmer. Element affinities: None.]

That's right.

The body he was currently in had a farmer class and no elements, unlike what this family was known for.

What was worse was this.

[Class traits: Seed Creation; you can make anything into a seed, in exchange for not having the ability to level up your skills.]

"No wonder they locked me up in this place. Being a farmer class is already bad, but not being able to level up your skills? That just makes this worse."

He said, understanding the family's opinion of him.

"Still, to think they would actually lock up their own biological son because of this. This guy is still level one after all this time."

He said, recalling how this body is an actual child of the family, and not a child from a maid or anything like that.

Looking at his status window and his stats.

"His stats are also horrible," he said, not understanding how this body had lived for this long.

"Well, none of that matters now. So let's proceed with you," he said to the panel.

[You can choose one of the following options that will help you.]

[1. SSS talent for swordsmanship.

2. Another class bar.

3. SSS-rank Necromancer skills.

4. Unique Summon.

5. One stat increased by 1,000.

(+) ← Tapped to expand.]

Checking the options the system gave him, he decided to carefully choose one.

Something that wouldn't just help his current situation, but his future as well.

"The class bar it's talking about is obviously a second class. But I'm not picking that. The talent and necromancer are good…"

"But I'm so done reading series with that kind of stuff, and becoming one of them sounds horrible. So no to those too."

"Besides, I don't even know if this world is at peace with people who control the dead. I might become a wanted person if they're not."

"This summon thing… it's either giving me a summon that shouldn't exist anymore, or one that later turns into a loli that's hundreds of years old, or a thick lady…..so no to that too."

In the end, Merm spent over an hour checking everything the system was willing to give him.

"Yes, this would be it. You guys have locked me up in this place for so long, so none of you probably know how I look."

He said, moving towards the exit door of the room.

"Now, time to unscrew this thing."
