Chapter 66 - Kidnapping Gaara

The Uchiha Clan Members hiding in the vicinity were so excited they wanted to dance.

He can control it! He really can control it!

The Sharingan really can control Tailed Beasts!

The time for the Uchiha to rule the world has come!

Pairs of blood-red eyes were filled with frantic ambition. However, standing before this ambition was the figure named 'Hiromi'. If he said go east, they would only go east.

This was the will of the Uchiha clan, the faith of the Uchiha clan!

Suddenly, an object was tossed over by Hiromi. The Uchiha Root Members instinctively caught it, discovering it was the unconscious Gaara.

"Take him back." Hiromi said.

"Yes!"

The Uchiha Root Members did not hesitate for a second.

Baki's pupils shrank as he shouted in terror, "Hiromi! Do you intend to provoke a war between Konoha and Sunagakure and start the Fourth Great Ninja War!"

He actually intended to take away the Jinchuriki of their Sunagakure!

The Uchiha Root Members acted as if they hadn't heard a thing. Without pausing, they carried Gaara and rushed quickly toward the Land of Fire. They didn't care if it would cause a war between the two villages nor did they care if it would provoke Hiruzen's fury. In their eyes, Hiromi's word was absolute.

Witnessing such a scene, the murderous Ōnoki felt somewhat bewildered, unable to fully grasp the current situation.

Why did Hiromi want to take Gaara back? Was he not afraid of provoking a war between Sunagakure and Konoha? Was he not afraid that Iwagakure and Kumogakure would get involved, turning it into a Fourth Great Ninja War targeted at his Uchiha clan?

If it were anyone else, he would have seen it as an opportunity. But having seen Hiromi make it so Hiruzen couldn't gain any advantage, he believed Hiromi was no fool.

If that was the case, what was his goal in doing this?

Ōnoki couldn't see through it. This gave him an uneasy feeling that the situation was slipping out of control, a feeling that grew more intense in his heart.

...

Orochimaru narrowed his eyes as he saw the Uchiha Root Members take Gaara away.

Although he had his sights set on Hiromi's eyes, and even his body, he never forgot that Hiromi was the one who had actively sought him out.

Now he had kidnapped Gaara...

His gaze flickered. "Hehehe, interesting."

He turned to look at Sasori, whose expression was shifting beside him, and smiled. "It seems the Fire Release Chakra Mode counters you quite a bit."

Sasori's aura was very oppressive, it was impossible to tell what he was thinking. He glanced at the departing Gaara, then at Hiromi. Finally, he turned and left without saying a word. His direction was toward where Gaara had been taken.

As Sasori's teammate, Deidara hurried to catch up, chattering and complaining about how cold Sasori was.

Jūzō leaned against a rock, his gaze fierce and arms crossed. His expression was grim, and he didn't say a word.

But Orochimaru could tell that his teammate was silently saying: 'I'm not getting involved in this.'

Orochimaru gave a raspy laugh and walked toward Hiromi. The look he gave Hiromi was full of desire for a deeply coveted prize. He couldn't help but imagine the scene of Hiromi lying on his experimental table.

...

On the field.

Seeing Gaara truly being taken away, Baki gritted his teeth in disbelief. He lowered his head and stared intently at Hiromi.

How dare he!

He actually intended to cause a war between the two villages!

Was he not afraid that Hiruzen would hand him over as a sacrifice?

From his throat, he let out a suppressed voice. "Temari, Kankuro, go back and report to Kazekage-sama."

Kankuro nodded hurriedly, a sigh of relief in his heart. At this moment, he only wanted to escape from Hiromi.

But Temari looked at Baki uneasily. "Sensei, you aren't..."

Baki didn't speak, but Temari could already tell that he intended to stop Hiromi, to go to his death.

"Sensei! He's not someone we can deal with! Let's escape together!" She pulled on Baki's arm.

She didn't want Baki to die.

Baki was furious and wanted to scold her.

At that moment, Hiromi's voice drifted over.

"Forget it, I won't kill you. Go and keep him company."

Hiromi had originally planned to kill these three. After all, he couldn't let them go back to Sunagakure to report, and capturing them was too much trouble, killing them was best.

But seeing Temari's concern for her teammate made Hiromi feel that there was no need to kill Shikamaru's future wife.

However, Baki did not understand Hiromi's kindness.

"Uchiha Hiro—"

Baki's angry voice and his movement of rushing forward with a death-defying resolve froze in an instant. His whole body froze in mid-air, his eyes became dull and lifeless, and his strength vanished. He knelt on the ground like a statue.

"Sen—" Temari's expression changed drastically.

Her hands quickly formed seals, wanting to help Baki break the genjutsu again. But in the next second, she also froze. Her eyes became dull, and her hands hung down powerlessly.

Kankuro broke into a cold sweat. He didn't even dare to lift his head, turning and running away. Chakra Threads were connected to his hands as he controlled Karasu, carrying Temari. He was in a state of utter panic and wretchedness.

"Take them back."

Hiromi glanced over and turned his head toward the middle-aged man in a black cloak with red clouds walking slowly from his right—Kakuzu.

"Yes."

The Uchiha Root Members were extremely fast. With overwhelming speed, they arrived in front of Kankuro in an instant.

"Damn it..."

Sweat soaked Kankuro's hair, leaving him in a wretched state, but his gaze was ferocious as he prepared for a desperate struggle.

But at that moment, a pair of Three-Tomoe Sharingan caught Kankuro's eyes. In an instant, he fell into a genjutsu.

Two Uchiha Root Members picked up Baki, Temari, and Kankuro, and quickly departed.
