Chapter 204 - 204. How: A fish head works?!

Maki walked to the elevator while thinking about what he should do today.

This idiot fish-head was leisurely wasting his free time, like his school days didn't matter to him at all. Or had he already forgotten about them?

Unlike him, the other new students of UA were preparing the things they needed.

Some were practicing diligently, some were feeling nervous, some were thinking about what kind of character they could use to impress others, some were making out while they still had time, some were fulfilling their lust through every cheap means possible, and some were setting their mindset to the peak.

But Maki?

He didn't care about anything like that.

This fish-head had already completely forgotten about that part.

Inside his fish brain, he was thinking about the island turtle and where he should place it.

Ting—

An imaginary bulb lit up above Maki's head as an idea suddenly came to him.

Which was a rare occurrence.

His thinking regarding the giant turtle was extremely shallow.

He was really going to release Isobu like it was some normal turtle.

This madafucker didn't know the value of the Three-Tails at all.

As his fish-head thought about many things regarding the damn turtle, the elevator rose toward the very top floor.

Then his fish brain suddenly stopped thinking about the turtle and jumped to another topic once again.

He was still deep in thought, but this time it was about the recent event and the rewards he had received.

He still hadn't checked his system, and he didn't know whether the update had already finished, so he decided he would check it later.

Yup, check that later.

After black coffee.

Coffee came first, he muttered to himself.

He nodded to himself, and once again his fish brain wandered toward the new song he had just posted. He was thinking about making another cover song, but this time he planned to post a different genre or vibe.

Maki knew that his guitar alone couldn't truly portray and mimic the original one, but he had already somehow formed a plan that would help him.

As his mind drifted through many random thoughts, the elevator stopped at the designated floor and opened.

He walked out while snapping his fingers, producing a melody.

He walked toward the condo door and naturally opened it before entering inside. He then turned around and closed the door again like a normal human being.

He removed his outdoor slippers and changed into indoor ones because he didn't want to wear his dirty Crocs inside Nemuri's condo.

Then he walked past the living room and headed straight toward the kitchen because he wanted his fucking black coffee.

He grabbed the mug he usually used before going toward the coffee machine where the black coffee was still warm, and he treated himself to a morning coffee.

After making his coffee, he walked toward the living room and placed the mug on the table near the sofa before taking a seat on the soft couch.

Then he suddenly remembered the blonde girl who was more proactive than anyone he had ever met.

Maki chuckled as he leaned his back against the sofa.

He closed his eyes and, using his consciousness, opened the system.

Ding—

The system interface appeared.

Dark golden-scaled serpent dragons danced on each corner of the system panel.

He inspected it carefully.

Nothing had changed except for his points, which kept rising nonstop.

It was now almost eight thousand.

Then he pressed the next page of the system.

The system flashed from the main page to the second panel.

[2nd]

The three categories of Bleach, One Piece, and Naruto appeared before him.

He pressed on the categories and saw that the boxes were still cooling down.

Seeing that everything was normal, he pressed the back button.

After a while of inspecting the second panel, he pressed the next button below the system panel once again.

[3rd]

The chains were still there, and the dragon head remained at the very center like some kind of guardian.

Just below the dragon head, he saw that the loading still wasn't finished.

The loading panel had only progressed to [18%] from zero percent yesterday.

Maki nodded after seeing that it was still loading.

He didn't particularly care about its slow process.

After all, he had been trained to wait patiently.

He pressed the back button below the panel twice, causing the system panel to return to the very first page.

His gaze then landed on the obsidian-golden dragon-eye chest.

Below it was the [1000] points button.

He stared at it for a while before nodding his head.

Using his consciousness once again, he chose to make a single draw.

The process was brief and simple.

He pressed the draw button, and his points got sucked away.

On the points counter, it automatically deducted one thousand points, causing his eight-thousand-plus points to drop to seven-thousand-plus in total.

The dragon eyelids shut.

Then the chest violently shook.

The chest lid burst open like the FBI breaking down a door in meme videos.

Then an obsidian orb came out from inside.

It hovered above the chest, waiting for someone to claim it.

He looked at the craftsmanship of the orb once again, and this time the obsidian orb had a human skull crafted onto its surface.

His eyes lingered on it, and like a dog that naturally barked, he also voiced out his own instinctive mannerism.

"Cool..."

He muttered as his eyes marveled at the craftsmanship of the skull face.

He really couldn't get used to the sight of it.

It looked like a real human skull.

Someone must have killed a person and stuck their skull onto this stone.

Talk about realistic.

After being mesmerized for a while, he clicked on the obsidian skull orb.

The moment he clicked it, the obsidian skull orb shook violently, like the skull desperately wanted to get out from the orb.

Cracks began to form across its surface.

Boooom—

The orb shattered into pieces, and an item appeared from within.

He looked at it carefully.

"Hmm... what is this thing...?"

Just as he examined the item, it vanished.

Naturally, the item was instantly stored inside the system storage.

He looked at what the item was.

It looked like a compass and a toy at the same time.

[Inventory]

[ONE PIECE]

[ITEMS]

NEW! > Log Pose

He read the item's name.

"Log Po-se..." he murmured while studying the compass-looking toy.

The thing was designed like a wristwatch.

Its main body had a transparent glass sphere, and inside it was a needle.

Like a compass.

"Really good item," he muttered.

He knew how useful a compass could be, especially when sailing.

But its design didn't look like the one he had before.

The one he previously owned had been a gift from his father.

It was like a necklace that hung around his neck. It was made of rusted gold, and he could open its lid.

There had been no glass covering it like this one.

From the looks of it, this thing looked more like a watch than a compass, with a bubble-like glass covering its top.

"What should I use this for?" he calmly asked himself.

He didn't particularly know what it was.

Only its design was giving him hints.

There were no details stated on the Log Pose at all.

Maki, who wasn't accustomed to thinking too deeply, simply appreciated the Log Pose and kept it stored away.

He didn't materialize it because he didn't want to damage the item.

"Better keep it safe..."
