Noctis's pov.
"They say the soul is a flame. I disagree because we can't see the soul, isn't that common sense?" I talked to myself like a maniac at the top of a tree.
"Oh well, guess you'll never know." I smiled as i climbed down, cracking my neck. "I've made up my mind." I walked through the white ground. Scanning my surroundings.
"I'm going to go back, check out everything that has happened... And maybe I can probably do something." Mist comes out from my mouth when i breathe.
I heard voices. Multiple. So i hid behind the closest thing next to me. A big ass tree. 'FUCK. Where... How?!' my heart slammed against my chest as i heard the voices fade away.
'i have to move slowly, Very. Slowly.' i shook my head and peeked out, spotting nothing before continuing to move silently.
I spot one of them all alone, so vulnerable. 'its a trap. They know I'm here.' i ignored him before turning around and just making a break for it.
Somehow, by some miracle, I got out unnoticed. But I kept running. And running. Untill I reached a familiar pathway.
I scanned the ground before seeing a body with an arrow lodged in its eye, covered under the snow. "Poor guy... anyway! I think this is where I came from... Uhh, so i guess I'll just trackback."
A few minutes later and using a makeshift shovel i dug up a grave for him and buried the man with an arrow in his head.
"It's a shame. You were a good man... Well for the while i talked to you." I sighed before turning around and tracking back.
The air was cold.
I wanted to go back home. And I was unable to keep killing like that. "I can't keep doing stuff like this just for myself to survive."
I killed people who also just wanted to survive.
"There's no good or bad in this. Just two bloodlusted countries and their stupid politicians and nobles who want extra cash." I ranted to myself for on and on and on.
By the time i got finished with everything I had to say to myself my jaw was hurting.
So I shut up and kept moving instead of looking like a person who's losing their mind.
I walked for hours, taking small breaks in between and spotting familiar checkpoints.
I stopped as the fog cleared. A castle revealed itself, big, grand. And hostile.
"These fuckers." I cursed and cursed. My breath trembled and my eyes started shaking.
Anger. For no reason, or that i could think of. Maybe it's for the people I uselessly killed. The blood i could've not shed.
The lives of people who were ended for just... A castle for some royal family's marriage?
"Why... Is it like this? Every single time... Why?" I muttered under my breath before finally getting a hold of myself before doing something in Anger that I will regret.
I thought it was a good idea to go back home. I spotted a crossbow with arrows laying next to it on a box.
I snatched it swiftly and walked off, not before hearing a "who the hell dares to take my crossbow!" Being screamed out.
'probably some noble little shit.' i scoffed at the thought and kept on moving to my home.
I looked up... "The weather is even more depressing." I strained my neck so I just stopped and kept walking.
I walked through the town and finally found my home. The dark wood and the
Beautiful view of the snow. A house of solitude. a quiet place of this miserable world.
Now just felt lifeless. Empty. I moved through to the porch and tried opening the door, locked. My heart strained.
I tried again, fail. My stomach turned. I had no choice but to knock.
So i did, three soft little knocks that felt louder than the screams of dying men.
A voice of a young woman.. "coming!" She opened the door and peeked her head out.
I only stared, black short hair that only reached her shoulders.. that stupid little home dress. Those glasses on her face that made me feel almost angry, almost.
"Uhh, can I help you?" She said. Looking up at me through the door I installed. "Hey... Sorry to bother at such a time since you were clearly... Y'know busy." I gestured vaguely at her before continuing
"this... is my house. I used to live here since i was like two. I was forced to join the multi blah blah blah." I rolled my eyes and looked her in the eyes.
"Care to explain what's going on. You look like you'd know something." She almost closes the door on my face before deciding against it.
"Uhm.. first of all, I didn't know you lived here. Second, this territory is officially owned by the royal family of our country. They said the homeowner was dead."
She says it so indifferently like she doesn't know what's even going on.
I tapped my head "well no he's fucking not I'm right here that's my house... This is... Wow. Are you enjoying the coffee reserve?" I said sarcastically
before we both sighed loudly at my
joke.
"Well.. what do you want now? You want me to leave and come back in?" She said as she looked up at me with those green eyes that i just can't explain.
"I mean.. i have three bedrooms. It's a family house. You don't have to leave." I shrugged and she sighed in relief as she was secretly almost pissing herself because of the blood all over me.
I finally realized what was happening and looked down. "Mind if i shower? No wait why am i asking it's my house." She giggles and opens the door and I walk in.
Taking a bath in hot steaming water.
"...damn." i said. Blankly. As I stared at the roof.
