Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The Path Forward (Part 1)

Author's Notes

It's been a month since I last updated the novel. I was busy with my mid-semester exams at university, and I also took this time to think deeply about improving the story and its overall direction. But now I'm back, and I promise to continue working hard and making this novel even better.

While the commotion was going on in the Dimension of Fate, far away from it…

Aether stood in front of the Awakening Stone, carefully checking the result of his awakening. His mind was still dazed as he kept thinking about his class — Progenitor. He couldn't understand it. Why didn't he receive any proper skills from the class? Other than the special skill given by the Universal Records to those who awaken a Unique Class, there was nothing else.

This made him feel confused and slightly uneasy.

While he was lost in his thoughts, a loud voice suddenly shook him out of his thinking.

"Number 46!"

It was the guard who was responsible for the awakening of the participants.

"You have awakened a D-Rank Non-Attributed Mana affinity, with 55% mana control, and a Unique Class called Progenitor. You may now step back into the line of participants and await further orders."

Hearing this, Aether slightly lifted his head and looked toward the guard. He nodded silently, then took a step back. Turning around, he began walking toward the line where the other participants were standing.

As he walked, he could hear faint whispers spreading among the crowd.

"Poor child…"

"He awakened a Unique Class, so he had a chance to enter the Royal Academy of the Great Star Empire…"

"But fate played a cruel joke on him."

"A D-Rank affinity… and on top of that, Non-Attributed…"

"No academy in their right mind will accept him."

Aether ignored all of it.

He returned to the line of participants and began focusing on his thoughts again. He tried to search for information about his class and understand why he hadn't received any class skill like the others.

After a moment, he decided to check his status.

With a thought, a transparent screen appeared within his mind.

After opening his status screen, his gaze immediately fell on his class.

He focused on it.

Then he selected it.

Description:

The Progenitor is a rare Unique Talent Class that allows the user to create, modify, and evolve abilities — including skills, energy cores, bloodlines, and even entirely new races. However, this requires that the user possesses sufficient foundational knowledge about the target they wish to create, modify, or evolve.

Skill:

[%^&%^*%%&^&#$(&^%^3%^](Locked)

To unlock this skill, the user must reach the Mana Refinement Realm.

After reading the description, Aether was completely shaken.

To think that he could create, modify, and evolve abilities, bloodlines, and even races — as long as he had enough knowledge.

This ability was beyond anything he had ever imagined.

But at the same time, it raised even more questions.

His eyes shifted toward the locked skill.

Mana Refinement Realm…

He had no idea what that realm was.

But he clearly remembered one thing.

The abomination that had attacked his village…

It had also been at the Mana Refinement Realm.

A faint chill ran down his spine.

While Aether was lost in his thoughts, the Awakening Ceremony continued without pause.

One hour later, after the final candidate had awakened their talent, the guard responsible for the ceremony stepped forward onto the stage once again.

"The Awakening Ceremony has now come to an end."

His voice echoed clearly.

"All of you will now follow me to the Recruitment Hall, where you will receive offers to join various noble houses, academies, or the army."

After saying that, he turned around and began guiding them forward.

Soon, the Recruitment Hall came into view.

It was a large Western-style building, grand in appearance. At the entrance stood a massive sculpture depicting knights fighting against Abyssal abominations and demons, as if telling the story of endless war.

The guard stopped in front of the building and turned around to face them.

"You will be called according to your candidate numbers."

His tone turned strict and cold.

"If I see any form of indiscipline, you will be immediately thrown out. You will then have to wait for the next Awakening Ceremony to be recruited."

He paused for a moment before continuing.

"Keep this in mind — from this point onward, you are being observed and recorded."

"If you are removed from recruitment, it will be added to your record. And it will make it much harder for you to be accepted in the future."

After hearing the guard's warning, all the sixteen- and seventeen-year-old youths immediately became silent and disciplined.

No one dared to speak.
