The next day, the sunlight was perfect.
Qianshuo had planned to use his day off to sleep in, but the training rhythm he'd maintained for so long had already carved itself into his body—so he still woke up early without meaning to.
Today, since they were going out, Heith dressed him in clothes she'd prepared in advance instead of his usual training outfit.
An off-white linen shirt paired with khaki cuffed trousers—comfortable enough not to restrict movement, yet clean and sharp enough to make him look tall and neatly put together. The fierce edge he carried in battle faded away, leaving only the crisp freshness unique to a twelve-year-old boy.
Heith's smile was radiant. She was clearly extremely satisfied with her own taste.
Qianshuo was already pale and fine-featured, his porcelain-white skin tinged with a healthy blush. A few stray bangs fell over his brow, giving him that unmistakable youthful, slightly shy air.
Heith stepped back to inspect him from head to toe, and her eyes gradually brightened.
The simple outfit—linen shirt, khaki trousers—should have been plain, but it unexpectedly highlighted the boy's upright frame. It was the posture of someone who'd held a sword for years: relaxed shoulders, straight spine like a pine, standing still yet looking as if he could draw at any moment.
And yet, that sharpness was softened by a face that was far too young.
His fringe draped across half his brow, the visible eye dark as unmelted ink. His skin was almost excessively white, making him look like he'd stepped out of a wash-ink painting—clean, light, untouched by the dust of the world.
Heith pinched her chin thoughtfully, then suddenly laughed.
"Kid, do you know what you look like right now?"
Qianshuo blinked.
"Like a cute little girl."
"Heith-jie."
"Relax, relax—I'm joking."
Laughing, Heith ruffled his hair, scattering some of that distant, untouchable vibe.
"No difference, really."
"Don't be shy. Come on—today you're actually going to loosen up a bit. For more than a week you've been training like you don't value your life. It's time to let that constantly tensed body relax."
She patted his shoulder lightly, then took his hand and led him out of the manor.
Qianshuo listened to her concern and nodded, letting her guide him obediently.
Heith's care for him—daily life, meals, health—was meticulous to the point of being almost overbearing.
Within Freya Familia, Qianshuo's connections were about as "special" as it got.
Freya was effectively his guardian, Hedin was his master, and Heith was like a big sister—or even a mother. No wonder the other members looked at him with envy so thick it practically turned into resentment. Anyone would.
Leaving the battle wilds behind, Qianshuo finally saw a piece of Orario for the first time.
The battle wilds lay toward South Main Street, so to register his adventurer identity, they needed to head north and ultimately reach the Adventurers' Guild on Northwest Main Street.
As they walked, the scene that greeted Qianshuo was a bustling, extravagant district. Rows of shops rose tall and broad, their exteriors lavish and gaudy in a way that screamed wealth. There were also high-end taverns for nobles, casinos, grand theaters—entertainment facilities you didn't see in most parts of the city.
South Main Street lived up to its name as the lively district: noisy, crowded, dazzling.
"It gets even more exciting at night," Heith said, tugging him along while explaining the city. "When we get the chance, I'll take you to the night market. There's tons of good food and fun stuff."
"Too bad we've got errands today," she sighed, stretching lazily—her curves outlined flawlessly by the motion. "Otherwise I'd take you around properly."
After all, today wasn't just adventurer registration. They also had to buy him more suitable clothes.
Freya herself had specifically instructed it before they left: pick out outfits that fit the child. Heith had promised she'd make the goddess happy.
They also needed to stop by the Hostess of Fertility so Qianshuo could recognize the place.
Sometimes you came back from the Dungeon starving and couldn't make it back to the manor in time—then the Hostess of Fertility was where you went to fill your stomach.
Heith did find it a bit odd that Freya wanted Qianshuo to go there specifically, though.
Was the goddess hoping he'd get along with "Mama Mia"?
Thinking about it that way, it suddenly seemed perfectly reasonable.
Under Heith's guidance, Qianshuo stepped into the Guild hall—constructed of white marble. Adventurers and staff moved back and forth constantly, busy with requests and paperwork.
"By the way, kid," Heith asked as they walked, "when you start going to the Dungeon, will Hedin be the one taking you? With his personality, he doesn't seem like the type to babysit you in the upper floors."
She remembered Qianshuo's goal wasn't to train in the battle wilds—he wanted to enter the Dungeon.
And Freya Familia wasn't like most exploration-focused familias. Their members mostly trained in the battle wilds, and only went on expeditions once their strength was sufficient.
Even their expeditions differed from others. There wasn't much teamwork. Most of the time, they brute-forced everything with individual power.
Heith had plenty to say about that. Every time she thought about expeditions, her head hurt—but without expeditions, the familia couldn't keep its finances running.
"I'll mainly explore on my own," Qianshuo said after thinking it through. "If I meet like-minded companions along the way, even better. If I want to clear deeper floors, I'll go to the hall and try to form a party."
Freya had already talked to him about this, so he'd prepared himself mentally.
"That works," Heith nodded. "If I have time, I'll go with you too."
As they chatted, they soon found a Guild counter with a shorter line. There were only two people ahead of them.
Then Heith saw a familiar silhouette and her eyes widened slightly in surprise.
That gem-green hair—there was only one person in Orario with hair like that.
And the figure wore the robes of a high-tier mage, radiating a sacred, untouchable presence.
"Lady Riveria," Heith called out. "It's been a long time."
The elf at the counter—who was helping another young elf girl with her paperwork—turned around in surprise.
And in that moment, Qianshuo saw Riveria clearly.
She was beautiful—stunningly so. A kind of perfection that could rival even a goddess's breathtaking face.
"Heith," Riveria said with a soft smile. "I didn't expect to run into you here."
Although Loki Familia and Freya Familia were famously "at odds," their personal relationships were not necessarily hostile.
Back during the Great Feud, Heith had served as a core member of Freya Familia's medical unit, and she had fought alongside Riveria. They knew each other.
"And this child is…?" Riveria's gaze settled on Qianshuo.
"Our familia's new member—Qianshuo," Heith said with a smile. "I brought him today to register as an adventurer."
Then she paused deliberately.
"Hedin's disciple."
The air seemed to freeze for a heartbeat.
"Kid," Heith said, turning slightly, "this is Lady Riveria—Level 6 mage. She's considered one of Orario's strongest mages, alongside your master Hedin."
"Hello, Lady Riveria," Qianshuo greeted respectfully.
He respected the strong, and he followed Heith's lead in how he addressed her.
"Hedin's disciple…?" Riveria's refined face showed clear surprise. Her emerald eyes narrowed slightly as she studied him again—this time with unmistakably greater seriousness.
Given what she knew of Hedin's temperament, he wasn't someone who accepted disciples lightly.
For a child to be chosen and trained by him, there had to be something exceptional about him.
It seemed Freya Familia had produced a remarkable new talent.
