Chapter 4 - The Flow of Calamity

(A/N: When no one else can understand me, when everything I do is wrong)

Matteo looked up from his spot. He was outside the school, and from where he was at, he could see where the other three students had gathered for club activates.

Itadori had told Matteo that the tomorrows club activity was seeing what creature the student council president was weaker than.

'Sukuna draws near' Matteo realized.

So, Matteo asked for a few minutes to go outside and do something. That something had to do with the small box with double doors on a post that was next to him.

The box that held the sealed finger of Sukuna. Matteo was going to take it home.

The only reason that cures came out of the woodwork to grab the finger, causing Itadori to eat it, was because it was unsealed, if Matteo made sure it wasn't unsealed then he could stop Itadori from eating it.

Whitch would allow Itadori to have a good life and stop Sukuna from killing a bunch of people.

Sure Sukuna would incarnate at some point in time, and more people would die due to Sukuna's Fingers because Itadori wasn't eating them, but Kenjuku's plan would be messed up and that was enough of a upside for Matteo.

So, he grabbed both doors and opened the box to find...

"Ow!" Matteo exclaimed

As soon as Matteo went to open the doors, a soccer ball from the field had hit his hands and knocked them away from the box.

"Hey! Can you throw that back?" a student asked from the field.

"Yes, of course," Matteo hesitantly responded throwing the ball back.

Turning back to the box, Matteo saw that it was completely unharmed from the ball.

So, Matteo simply reached for the box once more and..

Wind blew through the trees knocking a few leaves off. As Matteo reached for the box, the leaves brushed against his skin leaving several scratch marks on his hand.

"What!" Matteo exclaimed, "Those leaves barley brushed me and now I need to go to the nurse's office!" he said looking at his hand.

Prying his eyes from his hand, Matteo looked at the bloody leaves that cut him.

'A cursed technique?' Matteo wondered walking over to the leaves.

Looking closer at the leaves, Matteo couldn't see anything about them that would make them partially sharp.

Matteo walked over to one of the bloody leaves and picked it up. Carefully, Matteo slid the leaf along his hand, however the leaf simply bent causing no damage to his skin.

Matteo took a few steps back and looked at the old box. He was confused, frustrated, and simply wanted to break the box.

"Hey Matteo!" Iguchi said waving at Matteo, "Are you ok?" Iguchi then asked worried at Matteo's hand.

"Sorry," Matteo apologized, "Just tried to open the box and got frustrated," he explained.

"What happened to your hand?" Iguchi asked pointing at Matteo's bloodied hand.

"A few leaves brushed me," Matteo responded.

"Leaves?" Iguchi asked, "Do you think the box is haunted?" he then said.

"...Yes," Matteo responded after a small pause, "I think the box is fighting against whoever's trying to open it," Matteo told Iguchi.

'Maybe if he thinks it's haunted, he won't open it' Matteo thought.

"Haunted huh," Iguchi muttered, "Time to see how haunted thins thing is!" he then exclaimed reaching for the box.

"Iguchi!" Matteo exclaimed trying to stop him.

But Matteo was too late, Iguchi had already opened the box.

"I guess it's not that haunted," Iguchi said reaching into the box.

'Why could he open it when I couldn't!' Matteo wondered, 'Was it because I did something wrong, or was it because I tried to defy fate?' he thought.

"Here it is!" Iguchi said pulling out a small rectangular wooden box with a white seal on it, "I'll put this in the club room for tomorrow night," he said putting the box in his pocket.

"May I see it?" Matteo asked holding his hand out.

"Well, the plan it to show it to everyone tomorrow night, you can see it then," Iguchi told Matteo.

"I just want to see the box that caused my hand to be all scratched up," Matteo said holding up his bloodied hand.

'I'll take the box and make a run for it! There's no way he's as fast as me!' Matteo thought.

"Oh sure then," Iguchi pulling back out the box and handing the box out to Matteo.

As the box from Iguchi hand hit Matteo's hand, a sickening crack rang out as Matteo's wrist snapped down to a straight ninety-degree angle.

"Argh!" Matteo exclaimed in pain while holding his hand.

"Man are you ok? What happened?" Iguchi asked confused.

"The box! It broke my wrist!" Matteo exclaimed.

"It is haunted! And it doesn't like you," Iguchi said.

"I'm going to the nurse's office, do me a favor and either put that box in a place no one's getting to it, or throw it away," Matteo said as he walked away to the nurse's office.

'There is no way that that box is nearly heavy enough to break my wrist!' Matteo thought, 'Did something accelerate it?' he wondered.

"Oh my baby," Ms. Unmei said seeing her son with a cast on his arm, "What happened? Is someone bullying you?" she asked.

"No mom, something heavy just fell on my wrist," Matteo said trying to ease his mother's worries.

'I know she's a jujutsu sorcerer of some kind due to that thing she short at the curse a few days ago' Matteo thought, 'If she knew what fell on me, she may try to...take the finger away!" he realized.

"It was really weird though; it was this small container that was in a box on campus," Matteo explained, "My club member picked it up just fine, but when I tried it broke my wrist," he said.

"That is odd," Ms. Unmei said, "Well I'll call the principle tomorrow and see what he knows about it," she told her son.

'She doesn't know it's Sukuna's Finger!' Matteo realized, 'And if I say too much, she'll realize that I know too much about jujutsu sorcerers!' he thought.

"Thank you," Matteo thanked, " Oh yeah, and I'm staying over at school late to help my club," he told his mom.

"Look at you, being a good clubmate," she said, "Just remember not to push yourself too hard with your broken wrist," his mom asked.

"Yes ma'am," Matteo responded.

'I don't know how powerful of a sorcerer mom is, but if Sukuna incarnates I don't want her to be hurt because I'm trying to stop fate' Matteo thought.

A day had passed.

Matteo could barely pay attention to class, about the whole day passed by him like a blur.

"Matteo?" Itadori said.

Fate was coming was coming like a freight train, and Matteo felt like he had no power to stop it.

"Matteo?" Itadori asked again.

"Yes?" Matteo responded turning towards Itadori.

"Class is over dude," Itadori told Matteo.

"Oh, yes of course," Matteo said quickly getting up.

"See you at the clubroom!" Itadori said.

"May be a bit late, my wrist and all that," Matteo said putting up his wrist.

"Got it!" Itadori said before running away.

"Two, three, five, seven, eleven, thirteen."

Just a few hours ago Megumi Fushiguro had looked for Sukuna's Finger and failed to find it in the spot that he was told it would be.

He was annoyed that the simple mission he was given became slightly more complicated. He was also worried that his failure to find Sukuna's Finger would cause someone to be hurt.

Thinking that a student had taken the finger, Fushiguro decided to come to the school right after it ended to see if he could sense the finger's signature on a student.

To his luck, many students have rushed outside to watch a student and teacher compete in a physical challenge.

Frankly, Fushiguro didn't understand why so many kids had ran outside just to see a student and teacher compete.

If he was a student at the school he was at, he would have gone to the library and ignored to competition.

But he wasn't a student at a normal school. He was a jujutsu sorcerer, and he had a job to do.

"Four sixty-one, four sixty-three," a student muttered.

Fushiguro turned to the student muttering numbers, and as he did his eyes widened.

There was cursed energy flowing out of him. He obviously had enough cursed energy to be a jujutsu sorcerer, but Fushiguro had never seen or heard of the student before.

Suddenly, the student stopped muttering a turned to Fushiguro.

It was like a veil was put around Fushiguro and the student. Fushiguro couldn't focus on anything else as the student walked up to him.

He almost summoned his divine dogs but quickly realized that he was in an area with several other students, if a fight broke out where they were people could get hurt.

Fushiguro began to make a plan, one that would allow him to-

"Megumi Fushiguro," the student called out pointing at Fushiguro.

Hearing his name from the man, Fushiguro became worried that what lied in front of him was a hired curse user sent to kill him.

"A question," the student asked walking closer, "Do you believe in gravity?" Matteo asked Fushiguro
