Chapter 2 - [A glimpse of the past]

The Blue Star, the planet that surpassed the age of extinction, is considered the mother planet by all creatures scattered in the region within the icy bodies. It is also the planet that contains the World's First Tower, making it impossible to abandon despite the scarcity of habitable land on it.

While many cities managed to survive the Abyss monsters with the help of walls and warriors, this does not negate the fact that many creatures cannot even enter those cities. As the class system and royal rule returned, the residents of the areas outside the cities were considered below the rank of slaves within the cities. It is not rare to find many slave traders trying to herd them like animals and profit from them; if a person is still a Tower Master, their value is higher and better.

At the same time, the residents outside the cities still try to obtain an entry ticket to the city as if they were entering paradise. The only way is to save money to buy a visit ticket, then pay a massive amount to obtain citizenship.

But not everyone. There are those who do not care about entering the city or obtaining citizenship and did not want to live in it. Among these are many powerful individuals who established safe zones, led them, and profited from them.

It is said that 1,500 years ago, before the appearance of the Tower Masters, humans resisted the appearance of the Abyss only by developing their weapons and bodies through potions and materials, or even merging their bodies with parts of monsters' bodies. At that time, the general public worked on building safe zones, and because there was no safe place on the surface, many underground cities were built, which are now considered the only habitable areas in the wilderness, away from the Abyss.

Nevertheless, their safety is not absolute.

Among these areas, Ray lives in one near City H. He was not born in this place but in the wilderness on the surface. He had a large family, even a kind mother and sister, and a strong father who tried to help everyone reach this safe zone after the last area they were in was destroyed. The masters of safe zones welcome immigrants—or more accurately, manual labor.

When he came into this world from his mother's womb, the previous area had been destroyed, and by the time he was five years old, he had reached this area. During these five years, he watched the number of those close to him decrease every day, including his father. When he entered the safe zone, his life did not improve.

His mother, wanting to protect herself, disfigured her face before entering, and his sister, who was always smiling, lost her hand and her ability to speak due to trauma. It didn't take long before she lost her life inside the safe zone because of some villains who tried to assault her; while resisting, she was killed unintentionally.

The mother, who was enduring pressure day after day, collapsed after finding her daughter dead and lost her mind. Perhaps due to anger at everything and at this world, with eyes full of blood and tears, his mother sacrificed her life and unleashed her power.

But the master of this area intervened, and in the end, she died at his hands in exchange for him receiving some permanent wounds. Ray, who was left in shock behind them, became the scapegoat who had to bear the hatred of the area's residents, even though none of them were harmed by this battle or even witnessed it.

All of that happened in just the 2nd year of their presence in the safe zone. His life continued as a slave to everyone around him until the age of 10, before someone from the city master's side came and charged Ray the price of all the damages that had occurred. Thus, he was sent to dig in the underground mines for a meager return. Despite changing his job more than once, all he gained from working for 10 years was this simple room after paying off all debts.

The biggest reason was that he awakened a powerful skill at the age of 16, thus enabling him to enter hunting teams, where monster materials could fetch a respectable price.

Despite that, he did not think of revenge against anyone. He possessed no power and did not know who harmed his sister. He only locked away his anger at the area master and repeated his day, waiting for the time when he could enter his private tower to obtain enough power to enter the city and leave this place.

Thus, on the last day, he finished work quickly, returned, and slept while waiting for midnight, when he would complete 20 years and his tower would open. However, the person who woke up was someone else with other memories...

In this narrow room, Ray stood after wiping the sweat, searching for any mirror inside the room, but in the end, he found nothing and returned to his seat frowning.

"Well, I understand the absence of any mirrors," Ray sighed and looked at the screen in front of him. "So, let's communicate with another dimension and leave this aside."

"The time now is 13:25. Let's begin."

Fortunately, this dimension is the only one that can overcome the Abyss of Fear, and also the only dimension that hides its location. Even the guardians of this dimension, no one knows anything about them, or even if they exist. In fact, no one is sure this dimension even exists; it's just rumors that appear and disappear according to the story.

This is its description in the story, and among all the novels I wrote, only the Prince of Darkness novel and the Guardian of Fear novel were the ones that obtained the most information about this dimension.

True, there are other novels, but I did not give a name to that dimension; among them was a novel where the main character had a skill that forced them to enter this dimension, and there was another novel that welcomed the appearance of a wonderful character for a few moments, who would have been a friend of the Guardian of Fear if I had continued writing.

Among everything, this world is the one I did not link with the rest of the novels except because of one element present with one of the hero's friends.

It's not that there are no other treasures, but according to the story, they are only for those who deserve them. When the hero gets something, it is never by something like a coincidence. Because of that, I said these are stories not suitable for publishing; they never depend on characters but on the world view.

More accurately, all my novels were only increasing the details of this world, adding depth and a new concept to it.

Anyway, this dimension is also easy to enter.

I don't know why the key to entering the strongest dimensions is easier than entering the lower dimensions. I hadn't noticed this before, but thinking about it, it makes sense. The condition for entering this dimension is simpler than the first; all I have to do is remember the name of this dimension.

[The Sea of Oblivion]

Ray smiled while looking at the screen in front of him.

"The clock jumped to 14:12."

It worked, but I cannot remember anything that happened during this time that passed.

"On the contrary, I didn't feel even a single second passing, but it's impossible for there to be a malfunction in the clock since it's from the World Tower."

The time jump and forgetting what happened was something I expected. After all, this is Dimension No. 100, and it is said that there are only 99 named special dimensions, except that the Sea of Oblivion is the end of all forgotten worlds, events, monsters, and even universes, worlds, and forgotten dimensions existing inside this dimension. "And if I die now, my fate will end there."

I don't want that. Wandering aimlessly in eternity inside a sea of infinite memories. Fortunately, the connection succeeded, but this is also unfortunate, as such a connection may alert the guardians.

I hope I am considered an insect not worth glancing at and they ignore the matter. I might not die, but as I said, the fate that awaits my likes is worse than the fate of the heroes who lived inside my stories.

"Well, it's better not to think about that anymore."

It's okay if I know, but when those memories are fed by intent, that will reflect on the Sea of Oblivion and return to existence, and the first to catch these memories that left the Sea of Oblivion will be Special Dimension No. 44.

"I only hope that during this lost time, I was not exposed to the Winds of Oblivion. If that happened, I might have forgotten something and I don't even know what I forgot, and I will never know as my mind will fill the gap."

But it doesn't matter; if my plan succeeds, I will recover any lost memories. And as it is said, he who knows much will not live long, and this method will protect me from the danger of exposing the information I know.

"Well, there is no achievement notification since even the world forgot this achievement, but when the prize is obtained, it will be reinforced by the Sea of Oblivion or a gift from the Sea of Oblivion will be sent alongside it."

"But this is not enough to get that thing."

"Speaking of Dimension No. 44, maybe I can benefit from being the author more with this."

Special Dimension No. 44 is the only dimension that was not linked to any main character from the characters I wrote, nor even a side character; it only appeared as a complement, a cause, and a contradiction to the Sea of Oblivion.

It is a complement to all dimensions as well, and it is the information tower for many guardians. Therefore, even during the dimension reduction wars, no entity from any dimension encroached upon it, and it was considered one of the neutral dimensions.

And of course, it is not a hypocritical type of neutrality, but absolute neutrality, as it helps even those who try to destroy it without bias toward anyone, as long as the paid price is acceptable.

"But I am not strong. Obtaining and communicating with this dimension... although all special dimensions are branched in all parts of the Main Dimension, and it's not hard to notice if you've done something special."

No, on the contrary, perhaps since thinking about the Abyss of Fear dimension and the Abyss's response, I have thereby caught the attention of all dimensions, and they are watching to see what I will do.

So, it only remains whether there is a way to communicate with them.

Dimension No. 44 is a dimension that carries the name "The Sky Registry," and as the name suggests, it is a dimension that resembles a library, as it possesses a copy of all the knowledge that existed from the beginning of the cycle to its end.

"I can communicate with this dimension only if I possess Dimension Currency and the intent to communicate with the Sky Registry. Despite having the intent, Dimension Currency is something impossible for me to find, even if I got the help of all creatures in this world and the world itself."

Unlike the Abyss of Fear, this dimension is not truly generous. Thinking about it, there is another way, but I am not sure if it will succeed. Let's try; it won't be hard, I think.

"Fortunately and unfortunately, it seems that the memories of my previous and current life are accurately clear, and because of that, I remember some things I wish the Winds of Oblivion would blow and take away."

Ray sighed and held his chin.

"Anyway, what I can remember depends on my next path, so think about which era I wrote and placed this world's novel in."

First, since the special dimensions exist, this is definitely not the First Era, the Formation Stage, and this alone provides me with a huge amount of information that the Sky Registry does not possess.

"But perhaps the guardians managed to recover much information about that era, and I don't know what remains for me to use. However, there is a chance because the First Era is divided into 5 stages, and each stage has a different history."

Then comes the Second Era, the Age of Chaos. I remember I wrote that there is a Cosmic Cancer devouring worlds and even the universe itself, but since the Main Dimension in it is a Multiverse dimension, it was possible to suppress the danger. But because of this external enemy, there was chaos in all parts of #### approximately, and until this moment, special dimensions did not exist.

"There were also no guardians; rather, everything depended on the Domain Kings, Spirits, and Observers, and the most important person, [The Wanderer]."

The Age of Chaos is divided into only 3 parts: first, War; second, Destruction; and finally, Reconstruction. In the final stage, the special dimensions were born, as was the Cosmic Planet in the Main Dimension.

"Thinking about it, the end of the tower is an infinite continent. Although I did not describe the nature of this place, isn't it the Cosmic Planet, [Repton]?"

Even if it isn't Repton, it will at least be one of the ### or planets on the Repton rings.

"No, wait a second. All creatures in this world possess their own tower supported by Dimension No. 50, which is what transcends the causality of a small planet."

Damn, I didn't finish writing this novel, so there is a lack of information. But I can guess the path since all the novels I wrote revolve around [The Reality Key].

"True, thinking about it, the residents of the infinite continent can visit this planet, and this proves something important."

This planet—no, this world, this galaxy, and even this entire domain of galaxies—lies within one of the Repton rings.

"Because it is impossible for a small world like this to bear enough energy to support the operation of a tower for every rational creature, with the possibility of opening gates between this world and the infinite continent. Dimension No. 0 would not allow that, for it is a violation of the Boundary Law."

This is good in one aspect, which is that this world can grow and thus will not restrict anyone's power. But on the other hand, this means this world feels a great danger that made it request help from the Cosmic Planet, which linked it to Dimension No. 50.

"Most likely, I was going to destroy the planet upon getting bored with the story, and perhaps this is being fulfilled now. Well, I won't blame myself since I didn't expect to enter a novel; if I had known, I would have made it a romance novel only with astronomical ages."

Ray sighed and continued.

"Anyway, this proves that I am in the 3rd Era."

Because the Cosmic Planet is a planet created from the Reality Key, it has the ability to grow, endure, adapt, evolve, and some other side abilities. It was created to save the #### that are on the other side.

Which means all cosmic cancer and all cosmic trash go to this planet, and with time it grows from the size of a moon to a size that transcends the universe in volume, gaining thousands of rings around it that maintain its stability. Each ring has thousands of galaxies, and one of those galaxies is the galaxy I am in.

Perhaps...

"Fortunately, the 3rd Era is a peaceful era in Stage 1, and I hope we are in Stage 1 because Stage 2 starts a war between special dimensions, and I know how it will end."

Even that remains better than Stage 3, which is the last. I remember that one of the Wanderers will discover the existence of a rift in ####, and then an order will be issued that shakes every entity from the Wanderers' side urging the collection of the Reality Key fragments.

Because of that, all wars stop, and all guardians and Wanderers move against another enemy, the Sea of Chaos. Also, every universe will release a large amount of energy to develop all its private worlds and reduce useless worlds. Even the Underworld, which devours worlds to expand, will release a large amount of energy to help the underworld creatures grow to confront this catastrophe that targets everyone.

In the midst of this fear, fights are inevitable, but the mission remains to search for the Key fragments. No one knows in which dimension or in which world they exist, but the important thing is that if that rift is not fixed and chaos energy is allowed to enter the Main Dimension, that will be the end.

That is the final stage: Annihilation.

[Side Info: The Key is divided into almost an infinite number of atoms to hide itself. It is the way and the pen with which the existence of this world can be redrawn. In the hands of all guardians are many fragments, and in the hands of the Wanderers even more, but #### did not know until the discovery of half of the fragments.]
