Chapter 4 - Resonance Domain

"Resonance Unleashed: The Eternal Mountain's Heart!"

Terra planted his sword firmly in the ground. The instant the blade touched the earth, everything changed. The resonance was no longer a mere audible vibration; it was a physical pressure that engulfed the space. The wind died down instantly, and the bamboo stalks in the air stiffened. Even the black noise that had surrounded Karen ceased to expand, as if it had suddenly lost its bearings. Terra raised his head, his golden eyes shining steadily. "Resonance... raw energy, an incomplete vibration." The field began to expand. A pale golden circle shot from Terra's sword, enveloping the entire battlefield. Terra continued, clenching his fist. "But when the user understands it, when they cease to force it into obedience... resonance transforms into resonance." The black noise struck the invisible edge of the field and recoiled violently. Karen took a half-step back, laughing recklessly, though his laughter masked genuine tension. "Hey... are you serious?" Damn it!

Tera didn't turn to look at him, but glanced at his students out of the corner of his eye: "When the resonance is released, a field is created that seals off the battle. No exit, no entry, no outside interference." He turned his sharp gaze back to Karen: "Welcome to the heart of the Eternal Mountain." Outside the battle circle, Yara felt the rock within her harden to steel, while the raging flame resonance in Ratsu subsided, submitting to the field's orderly rhythm. There was no room for chaos here.

"In this field...", "My resonance fills the air, the earth, and every atom within my dominion." In a desperate impulse, Karen slammed his hand into the ground to create a noise and break the field. But the blow vanished as soon as it left the ground. The void swallowed it instantly. Ren's eyes widened in shock as he watched this complete annihilation. Terra slowly raised his sword: "Any move you make will be futile." "In short..." Terra tilted his head and smiled smugly. "You're now within my trap." A distrustful laugh escaped Karen. "Huh... so this is Resonance, Terra?" He clenched his fist, feeling the field's gravity crush him. "I'm completely isolated..." But he suddenly raised his head, his eyes gleaming wildly. "But I passed the peak long ago!" Terra didn't give him a chance to breathe. He swung his blade back, and with the weight of a collapsing mountain, he launched it straight ahead, crushing everything in its path. "Rock Echo Art, Fourth Form: Brutal Peak Fall!" A devastating blow, channeling the entire field's energy into the blade's edge, shot forward with the force of a destructive rockfall. Boom! The blade slammed into the remaining halo of noise. A tremendous white resonance exploded, slamming into Karen and throwing him dozens of meters backward, smashing giant rocks with his body until he crashed into the edge of the field. Cough... cough! He coughed. Karen spat violently. Dark drops of blood slid from his mouth, staining the ground. He stared at his blood in genuine shock, his hands trembling: "Ugh... Impossible."

Tera took one step forward, and the entire field shook. "In the field of resonance... I'm not striking you." Terra raised his sword again, ready for the final blow: "I'm resetting you."

Karen's hysterical laughter erupted, then abruptly fell silent. A calm smile spread across his face as he slowly began to rise. His body rose and fell steadily, his wounds healing rapidly.

Tera raised an eyebrow. "Oh... it seems you can stand. No one I've killed has survived that blow. Did I misplace the source of the noise? Anyway... I'll keep crushing you until this flesh stops healing."

Here... Karen laughed again, but it was a human laugh, completely calm. "You really are stupid, Tera... and you'll never change."

The slimy black aura around him suddenly shrank. It receded, vanishing as if pulled inwards. Yara's eyes widened. "The noise...?" Ratsu clenched his fist. "It's gone?!"

Karen's voice rang out, clear and crisp, without a trace of demonic distortion. "Enough with the act, then." In an instant, a completely different aura emanated from Karen's body. It wasn't black or suffocating, but a translucent gray aura, moving fluidly like a deadly mist. *Grrrrrr!* Terra's sphere trembled for the first time. The rock's brow furrowed in shock: "This is impossible..." Karen slowly raised his hand to his sword, the mist swirling around him: "Noise isn't the only way... it's just the easiest way."

The mist spread around him, thickening until it obscured his features. "The art of mist echo..." Karen smiled coldly:

"Round two begins now, Terra."
