Chapter 122 - 122: Our Combined Form Can Defy the Sea God

Gu Yue gave a firm nod, her gaze hardening with a serious intensity. She explained that when she first took human form, she inherited the elemental manipulation capabilities of the Silver Dragon King. In contrast, she noted that Naer had inherited the immense physical body strength of the Silver Dragon King.

Naer remained silent, listening intently without making a single interruption.

Gu Yue went on to say that while the bloodline power of the Golden Dragon King is incredibly violent and far beyond what any normal human could ever hope to endure, Naer was a different story. Her eyes locked onto those of Naer as she spoke each word with heavy emphasis. She pointed out that although Naer's physical body was not currently at its peak strength, it originated from the exact same source as the Golden Dragon King's bloodline. Because of this shared origin, there would be no difficulty at all when it came to the fusion of that bloodline into her own being.

Since Naer possessed the physical essence of the Silver Dragon King, she held a natural compatibility with the power of the Golden Dragon King. For a regular human, any attempt to absorb such a potent bloodline would lead to nothing but their body being torn apart from the inside out.

While both girls were transformations of the same original being, it was obvious that Naer was far more human than Gu Yue. Her personal habits and the way she carried herself often confused Gu Yue, yet her reactions were perfectly aligned with how a typical human girl would behave.

However, when the conversation turned toward matters of survival and power, Naer also became remarkably solemn. Her beautiful, small face was now masked with a layer of heavy gravity. Her purple eyes shifted back and forth as she mentally processed every detail and analyzed whether Gu Yue's plan was actually feasible.

After a long pause, she finally spoke up. She questioned whether Huo Yuhao really had the ability to strip that bloodline away from the body of Tang Wulin. She also reminded Gu Yue that Tang Wulin still carried the protective measures placed upon him by the Sea God. She asked if they were truly certain that the Sea God would not interfere this time, especially since it had not been very long since the disaster involving Di Tian.

Gu Yue did not look worried at all when she heard this concern; it was clear she had already worked through the logic. She spoke in a measured tone, explaining that the current situation was entirely different. She noted that during the last encounter, if Di Tian had succeeded in pulling the bloodline out, Tang Wulin would have died instantly. She reasoned that the Sea God only stepped in to keep Tang Wulin alive, suggesting there was a very close personal link between the two of them.

Her tone then became sharper as she continued her explanation. She pointed out that although Di Tian had failed before, his actions had destabilized the Golden Dragon King's bloodline. Now that the bloodline was actively erupting and going out of control, even the hidden seals left by the Sea God were becoming useless. If they did nothing, Tang Wulin would eventually die from his own power. Because of this, she argued that now was the best time to act. She believed that if they were the only ones who could save Tang Wulin's life, the Sea God would have no choice but to stay out of their way.

Naer drifted into a deep state of thought after hearing this reasoning. Her purple eyes looked down at the ground, and her long eyelashes fluttered slightly as she weighed the risks of the proposal. A short while later, she looked back up, and a sudden smile spread across her face. She remarked with a light chuckle that it seemed Di Tian's previous injuries had not been suffered in vain.

Gu Yue watched the smile on Naer's face and asked if she was finally in agreement.

Naer gave a casual shrug, her expression turning indifferent. She replied lazily that since Gu Yue was the main body, she really had no choice but to follow her lead. After a brief pause, she added that with both of them working together, they could handle the Sea God even if he did decide to show up.

She spoke with a sense of absolute certainty. They were, after all, the Silver Dragon King. If they performed a body integration, they would possess enough power to challenge even the Sea God in person. Furthermore, the version of the God King currently on this world was nothing more than a fading clone.

Gu Yue nodded with a look of satisfaction. She had accomplished exactly what she came here to do. She then asked Naer when she would be able to travel back to the East Sea with her.

At that moment, a waiter arrived and placed four cold drinks neatly on the table in front of Naer. She picked one up and took a long sip. As the cold liquid traveled down her throat, she squinted her eyes in pure comfort. She told Gu Yue that she would have to wait until the academy went on break.

As the words left her mouth, she saw Gu Yue's eyebrows pull together in a frown. Naer quickly put her drink down and pointed a finger at Gu Yue, telling her not to make that face. Her voice sounded a bit hurt and frustrated. She reminded Gu Yue that she was the one who made her join Shrek Academy as a lonely orphan, and now she had become the most important disciple of Yun Ming. If she just disappeared without a word, there would be too many questions. She asked if Gu Yue really thought Yun Ming would just let her walk away if she told him she was leaving with people from the Spirit Pagoda.

Gu Yue's face began to relax as she listened to the explanation. Even though she often looked down on Naer for being too emotional or flighty, she had to admit that the logic was sound.

Seeing that Gu Yue was no longer annoyed, Naer continued speaking. She promised to spend the coming days making arrangements so that she could arrive at the East Sea exactly when the break started. She blinked her eyes playfully, looking just like a clever little fox that had managed to steal a prize.

Gu Yue stayed quiet for a moment before she eventually gave a nod of approval. She stated that the plan was settled.

...

Back at Shrek Academy, on the Sea God Island.

The temperature inside the private cultivation room belonging to Ma Xiaotao was climbing higher and higher. A dim, dark red light began to swirl around her body, resembling flames that burned without making a sound. Her eyes, which were usually pink, now showed a faint tint of dark red as if a hidden force was trying to break free from within her. The air in the room was so hot that it had become distorted; any ordinary person would have been forced to leave the room long ago.

Huo Yuhao stood off to the side, completely unaffected by the heat. His face was as calm as a still lake. Because he possessed the power of Ultimate Ice, he was essentially immune to the effects of both extreme cold and extreme heat.

His mind wandered to historical texts he had read, which mentioned that ten thousand years ago, the founder of Shrek Academy, Tang San, also had an immunity to ice and fire. However, he knew that Tang San's spirits were the Clear Sky Hammer and Blue Silver Grass, neither of which had anything to do with those elements. He wondered how Tang San had managed to get such a power. He couldn't find a clear answer. He figured that the famous ancestor must have kept many secrets that were never written down in the history books.

"Junior..."

A weak voice snapped him out of his internal monologue. Even though the dark red energy was clouding her eyes, Ma Xiaotao was still clinging to a tiny bit of her consciousness. She clamped her teeth together, fighting through the agonizing pain of the evil fire that was trying to burn her body, and looked toward Huo Yuhao. She told him that she was placing all her trust in him for what was about to happen.

Huo Yuhao cleared his head and gave her a steady nod. He told her she didn't need to thank him.

A soft blush colored the cheeks of Ma Xiaotao's lovely face. Huo Yuhao simply assumed it was a physical reaction caused by the heat of her evil fire. However, he had no idea that the blush had nothing to do with her condition.

Because of his knowledge of the past, Huo Yuhao only thought of Ma Xiaotao as someone who would be like a sister to him in the future. But at this very moment, Ma Xiaotao was thinking about the advice her teacher, Yan Shaozhe, had given her.

He had told her that Huo Yuhao was a boy with incredible talent and a strong heart. He had also pointed out that his Ultimate Ice was the perfect medicine for her evil fire. He suggested that if they could become a couple, it would benefit both of them. He told her he wasn't forcing her into anything, but he wanted her to think of it as a great opportunity.

Those words had been stuck in her head for several days now. Because of that, she no longer saw Huo Yuhao as just a younger student. To her, he was now someone she was considering as a potential partner.
