Everything happened without warning. One moment I was standing, and the next this terrible pain threatened to wrench my soul apart. I turned over on the ground and clawed my fingers against the stone as the pain tore at me from the inside out, like something was being stitched into the fabric of what I was and my body wanted no part of it.
"Hey! Kid, are you okay? What's wrong?!"
I heard Archer's voice, but it kept drifting further and further until I couldn't hear it anymore.
I saw white as another wave of pain crested… then the next thing I knew, I saw nothing at all and wasn't aware of myself anymore.
