The IBD headquarters elevator doors opens, Alex and his team step out of it, all covered with blood.
"What a hack of a day team, well done you did a great job...you may now be dismissed."
Team members leave and go to the Locker Room in the IBD, and the Tracy comes out of the Tech Room holding a tablet.
"Any news regarding the next generation?"
Tracy opens the tablet and shows it to Alex.
"Yes sir, I came here to show you updates. So our scanners picked some heat signatures in three different areas tonight, thus the Major Team is there now looking if that's our new Elementals that we detected.
"Call if that's our next generation you detected...but can you do some quick research for me."
Tracy switches off the tablet and listens to Alex.
"So in all of our mission today fighting our friendly bad guys something seemed off because most of them were Mutants but not strong ones, some of them were regular Mutants we have encounter...but some of them were new. Meaning the Crage supply has increased rapidly and villains all over the city is getting them easily."
"So Sir you want me to look into it."
"Yeah I need you to look for the supplier before things get out of our hand...don't mention this to the leadership or anybody else this ends between us."
"Okay Sir, got it you will get full report by the end of the night."
Tracy gets back in the Tech Room, and Alex went to the Locker Room.
The next day at the cemetery, in the funeral of the last Elementals that had died. The graveyard was full of people attending the funeral, the families of the Elementals were there, some of them were crying, due to the loss of their loved ones, Alex stood there in a black suit up in the trees where he can not been seen by people and he was drinking alcohol from a tin cane.
A woman approaches him from behind and stands besides him, Alex looks at the woman and sips his alcohol.
"Why ain't you with the rest of the people?"
Alex counties to drink his alcohol ignoring the woman for a second before he could respond to that question.
"Last time I've checked this is a private funeral, and I don't think I've seen you with the deceased before."
The woman responded while looking at Alex takes a look at the funeral.
"Well I guess the guys never mentioned me before...well I don't blame them there."
"What do you mean by that?"
"It's not important now, but I didn't come here to stay, I actually came to see my fellow friends that have never talked about me to other people before for the last time."
The woman walks away from Alex heading towards the direction she came in by earlier. Alex turns his head towards the woman.
"Hey...what's your name?"
The woman continues walking without answering Alex's question, until she was gone. After the funeral Alex went to the families shared his condolences to the families that had lost their loved one's.
[Few Hours Later]
During midnight Alex went to the IBD headquarters, once he arrived went to the Tech Room. Opens the and entered, thus he sees some Tech personnel doing their jobs and Tracy is monitoring them.
Alex walks towards Tracy, and she notices Alex and by the looks of it Alex is drunk a little bit.
"Sir you shouldn't be here at this time of the hour, plus given the situation your in right now."
"Don't worry Tracy, I can never be too drunk given the circumstances, I'm just here trying to look for any updates about the favor I asked you to look up."
"Sir about that, we did not find any leads where that substance came from or who moves around people in the city."
"Well guess we have to go off the books for this one."
Tracy gets surprised upon the words spoken by Alex about going off books thus that could lead to problems.
"Wait Sir you have to consider this, that's against the rules you can get arrested for that."
"Tracy crime doesn't rest, especially now bad guys know that the faces of this country are dead...I have to try and minimize this problem for the next generation I owe it to them."
"Well Sir I won't say that I support your decisions now...but if you need anything I'm here."
"I appreciate that, the only thing that you can help me with, is holding my meeting until I come back...because I'm going to leave for a week for this operation."
Tracy understood what Alex said and thus she got back to her job in monitoring the Tech Room and Alex leaved the room.
Alex went to his place and took a sports bag started to pack, preparing to leave for an undercover mission here was about to go to.
He leaves and goes to the city while it's still night time. The city is said to be the place where the fittest survives and the weakest is easily eliminated.
Alex heads to a club, and as expected there's partying, people are having fun and Alex heads to the VIP section. Where the fittest are found, because he knows inorder for his plans to work he needs connection from the fittest.
While about to enter the VIP, his path was blocked by VIP bouncers, for which it is common knowing if he wants to meet the big guys in the VIP he needs to flex his strength.
"Well boys, I'm not here to make any trouble I'm here to meet your boss."
"Our boss doesn't have meetings today, now leave before we spill your blood."
"Well I'll meet your boss, one way or another."
Alex takes out a scarf from his sport bag and rolls it onto his fists, puts down his bag and shapes to fight and one of bouncer come to him planning to knock him out, the bouncer throws a punch, Alex dodge it at punched that bouncer in the middle of the stomach and the chest, making that bouncer fall on his knees, then down.
The second bouncer comes at him ready to punch him, thus again Alex dodges and lands fatal blows on that bouncer on his face and that knocked him out.
Alex continues moving to the VIP where he sees a man sitting with pretty young girls all smiling and laughing charmingly, and the man in a luxurious suit, by the looks of the man, he's a big dog in the game in the city.
Alex sits down across a table from the guy and girls, and that table was filled with alcohol of all kinds, thus Alex takes a champagne bottle and drinks from it.
That court the eye of the man in the luxurious suit and the pretty girls. The man saw his bouncers lying on the floor and saw Alex is the one responsible, thus she sends the girls away.
"Mhmmm."
The man takes a bottle of scotch on the table and a glass and pours himself and he drinks it like everything is fine.
"I wonder who might you be turning up in my club and doing that to my boys. Hope you got a good reasons why I should not kill you."
"I'm not looking for trouble, I asked your boys nicely for a pass but they refused, but I'm here to explain that."
"I'll give you a minute to convince me not to kill you."
"Well simple, I'm reliable unlike your boys over there, and once I start something I finish it."
"What do you want from me"
"So I heard you run this city, so I thought you might give me something for a fresh start."
"Why would I give a guy who just took out my boys something."
"The fact I'm alive right now, means you see potential on me, so give me a test to prove myself."
"I don't trust you, but since you took my boys out I'll give you a task, prove yourself and your in."
The man snaps his finger twice and a guy holding a bag with a note on top comes and hands over the bag to Alex and he leaves.
"I don't know you but if you pick my stuff from a gang that hasn't pay me for this week and deliver that bag from that address...then will talk business."
"Fine by me seems easy."
"I didn't get your name boy."
"You can call me Rench."
Alex takes that bag he was given and he leaves the club. The man in the suit calls the some guy.
"Make sure you kill him painfully."
The guy flows after Alex going to honor the request of the man in the luxurious suit.
