The sheer, staggering shock of the localized spatial tremor caused Teach to completely drop his guard, and the kinetic shockwave smashed into his chest dead-on.
Cough!
The crushing pressure wave tore clean through Teach's dense muscle and fat, jarring his internal organs. He violently coughed up a thick spray of dark blood as his massive frame was blasted backward across the sand, leaving a deep furrow in the beach.
Although Darian's vibration technique lacked the scale of Whitebeard's fully unleashed Tremor-Tremor Fruit (Gura Gura no Mi), the kinetic punch—amplified thirtyfold under the sheer power of Third Gear—was devastating enough to rattle the entire coastline.
The tremors rolled across the bedrock of Jaya, causing the entire landmass to shake. On the eastern shore, the sudden seismic upheaval caught the immediate attention of Mont Blanc Cricket, who had been preparing his salvage divers to search for the lost City of Gold.
"What in the world is happening out there?!" Cricket muttered, gripping the railing of his half-castle home as the ground vibrated beneath his boots. "Is the Knock Up Stream about to erupt early?!"
A few miles out to sea, Nami expertly piloted the Little Fish away from the immediate harbor zone to keep the vessel safe from stray artillery and falling debris.
"Marianne! How does the battle look from up there?!" Nami yelled toward the crow's nest, her hands tight on the helm as she cast a worried glance toward the smoking shoreline.
Perched on the observation deck with her brass binoculars, Marianne squinted through the rising plumes of black smoke. "I can't see the details clearly! The buildings are collapsing, but they're definitely still fighting!"
Standing near the mainmast, Robin calmly crossed her arms in an X-shape, blooming several eyes across the palm trees lining the coast to observe the skirmish firsthand.
"There is no need to fret, Navigator," Robin spoke smoothly, a tranquil smile gracing her lips. "Our Captain has maintained the upper hand from the very beginning."
Hearing Robin's calm assessment, Nami let out a quiet sigh of relief, though a pang of internal frustration lingered in her chest.
Darian took on every dangerous battle alone, keeping her and the crew fiercely shielded from harm. While she appreciated the safety, it left her feeling completely powerless in critical moments. Her physical conditioning had improved significantly through their nights of Dual Cultivation, but she lacked combat experience. Watching the distant explosions, a fierce determination began to take root in Nami's mind—she needed to find a way to become genuinely strong.
Back on the shattered shoreline, Teach hauled his bruised, heavy body out of the sand. Wiping the blood and sand from his mouth, his initial fury morphed into a low, sinister rumble of laughter.
"Zehahaha! So you're the 'White Emperor' Darian! Your strange abilities aren't recorded anywhere in the Devil Fruit Encyclopedia, yet you wield both raw natural lightning and the power of tremors! What an incredible haul... I'll gladly take both of those abilities for myself! Zehahahaha!"
Teach spread his thick arms wide, dark, shadowy tendrils of black smoke beginning to billow from his pores.
"Let me show you the true, absolute terror of darkness!"
Teach extended his open right palm directly toward Darian, aiming to generate a vortex of gravitational pull.
Kurōzu (Dark Water)!
Darian remained completely composed.
"The Dark-Dark Fruit, huh?" Darian sneered, hovering slightly above the sand. "I understand its fatal mechanics far better than you do, Teach."
The gravitational pull of Dark Water could indeed forcefully drag a Devil Fruit user toward Teach's palm, disabling their abilities upon physical contact. But the technique possessed strict mechanical limitations: Teach had to actively aim his palm at the target, maintain focus, and physically clasp the opponent's body to nullify their power.
Against an opponent possessing thirtyfold supersonic acceleration, landing that grip was a statistical impossibility.
BZZZZT!
Darian blurred out of existence, breaking the sound barrier as he circled Teach at blinding velocity. In an instant, dozens of concentrated bolts of blue-white lightning cascaded down upon the pirate from every blind spot.
"GAAAAAH! IT BURNS! IT BURNS!"
Teach shrieked in agonizing torment as the electric arcs tore through his back and shoulders. To maintain his gravitational pull with one hand, he was left with only a single arm to defend himself against a supersonic barrage. The Dark-Dark Fruit absorbed the elemental energy, but the curse of doubled pain turned every lightning strike into agonizing torture.
"Damn you, rookie!" Teach roared through gritted teeth, his eyes bloodshot with homicidal rage.
Realizing he couldn't track Darian's speed, Teach slammed both open palms into the ground.
Black Hole!
A massive tide of pitch-black darkness erupted from his feet, spreading rapidly across the beach like an encroaching abyss, threatening to pull everything into its crushing depths.
Darian effortlessly flapped his electromagnetic iron-sand wings, ascending fifty meters into the sky.
"Relying on the same parlor trick won't save you," Darian called down coldly.
Teach looked up into the sky, his Observation Haki suddenly screaming in sheer terror.
"Thirtyfold Output — Three Hundred Million Volts: Divine Punishment!"
A blinding, celestial pillar of pure blue-white plasma descended from the heavens like the wrath of an ancient god. The sheer brilliance of the lightning strike illuminated the entirety of Jaya Island, turning the afternoon sky stark white.
BOOM!!
The blast completely swallowed Teach's position. The surrounding sea water instantly flashed into steam, and the sand melted into smooth, glowing glass.
When the blinding light faded, Teach was kneeling on the charred ground, his clothes smoking and his skin blistered. The vast ocean of darkness he had released managed to absorb the lethal core of the voltage, sparing his life, but the sheer pain left him trembling.
Looking up at Darian hovering in the air, Teach dropped his shoulders, letting his head hang low as if he were completely drained of stamina and on the verge of collapsing.
Darian remained stationary in mid-air, refusing to descend into melee range.
Seeing that the bait wasn't working, Teach suddenly snapped his arm upward, his palm flaring with dark gravity. "Kurōzu!"
Darian tilted his body mid-air, smoothly evading the gravitational cone before it could lock onto his core.
"Damn it all!" Teach cursed loudly, abandoning his act of weakness as he scrambled back to his feet.
Teach couldn't comprehend how this East Blue rookie possessed such precise, intimate knowledge of a Fruit that had been lost to history for centuries. Darian had deliberately avoided his open palm from the very first second of the clash.
Darian touched down lightly onto the edge of the water, planting Kiyotsuki firmly into the wet sand.
"The Dark-Dark Fruit generates infinite gravity to attract the physical body of fruit users, temporarily shutting down their abilities upon physical contact," Darian said calmly, his voice echoing across the quiet beach. "And more importantly... its unique gravitational distortion allows you to siphon and steal a user's Devil Fruit power right after their death. Isn't that your grand plan, Marshall D. Teach?"
Teach froze completely, the blood draining from his bruised face. His eyes widened in absolute, staggering shock.
"How... how the hell do you know that?!" Teach stammered, his voice cracking. "Have you read the Devil Fruit Encyclopedia as well?! That's impossible... only I memorized the shape and secrets of the Yami Yami no Mi!"
"I don't need a book to know your pathetic secrets," Darian smirked. "Now... let's see how your Fruit handles this."
Leaving Kiyotsuki resting in the sand, Darian brought his hands together in front of his chest. Drawing upon the refined chakra networks he had unlocked in the Naruto world, his fingers blurred into a high-speed sequence of hand seals.
Rat → Tiger → Dog → Ox → Dragon → Bird...
Tapping into the thirtyfold speed of Third Gear, Darian executed the notoriously complex sequence at a blistering pace of ten seals per second. In less than five seconds, all forty-four hand seals were completed seamlessly.
BOOM!
A massive, visible torrent of dense, cerulean-blue chakra erupted from Darian's body, radiating intense pressure as it surged directly into the ocean at his feet.
"Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique!"
When fighting a Devil Fruit user on the Grand Line, utilizing the boundless, natural seawater directly adjacent to the battlefield was the ultimate counter. Darian dumped an immense, unrestrained volume of chakra into the technique, prioritizing sheer scale over subtle conservation.
ROOOAAAR!!
The ocean beside the beach began to boil and violently churn. A massive column of seawater erupted hundreds of feet into the sky, condensing into the shape of a colossal, hyper-pressurized water dragon. The serpentine beast raised its massive horned head, letting out a deafening roar that shook the very foundations of Mock Town.
Standing on the beach, Teach stared up at the towering, ship-sized maw of the ocean dragon looming over him, his jaw dropping in sheer, unadulterated terror.
"What kind of monster are you...?!" Teach screamed as the colossal water dragon bared its fangs and plunged directly toward him!
