Chapter 98 - Chapter 95: The Power of Refusal

"What the hell happened?"

Withdrawing his hand from the empty space, Darian clenched his fist in genuine surprise. He honestly hadn't thought he had used that much force. When exactly had his baseline strength increased so dramatically?

As a massive spatial and temporal distortion point within the One Piece world, the Rainbow Mist possessed immense, incomprehensible energy. Absorbing the latent energy of the entire anomaly not only violently transported him to the Naruto world, but the residual cosmic energy had seemingly nourished his silicone physiology to a massive degree during transit, granting him sudden, permanent physical enhancements.

Their leader had just been backhanded through a solid wooden wall and sent flying across a dirt street. The remaining Yakuza thugs, completely stunned and bewildered by the sudden violence, took a full ten seconds to recover their wits before they panicked and charged out the hole, yelling and shouting in terror.

"Boss! Boss, are you alive?!"

Seeing the tall, heavily muscled Darian sitting calmly at his table, the restaurant owner rushed over in a panic. Surveying the massive structural damage caused to his izakaya, cold sweat beaded heavily on his forehead.

"Honored Guest... this wall..."

Seeing the boss's nervous, terrified expression, Darian knew exactly what the man wanted to say.

He glanced over at Tsunade and Shizune in the booth. They were the ones who had originally caused the trouble by scamming the casino, but he was technically the one who had destroyed the restaurant's wall. These two women were clearly drowning in massive debt, so they definitely didn't have the money to pay for structural repairs.

Although somewhat annoyed by the interruption to his meal, Darian pulled out his thick, heavily laden coin purse. "I'll compensate you for the wall repairs, old man. But where is the rest of my meat? Are you even trying to keep your shop in business today?"

As he spoke, Darian slammed a handful of solid gold coins onto the table.

"Yes, my Lord! Yes! Please wait just a moment, the rest of your order will be right out!"

Seeing that Darian was wealthy enough to casually pay massive compensation in pure gold, the boss immediately beamed with overwhelming joy. He hurriedly bowed, grabbed the gold, and instructed the shop assistants to quickly clean up the mess and board up the hole.

Perhaps because traveling ninjas often caused massive collateral damage during brawls, the local patrons in the izakaya, seeing that there was no more drama or violence to watch, simply calmed down and continued eating and drinking as if a man hadn't just been launched through the wall.

The boss had secured Darian's compensation, and Tsunade and Shizune—who had successfully and miraculously escaped a brutal debt collection—both breathed a heavy sigh of relief.

But their "meal ticket" that had come to collect the debt had run away, leaving Tsunade with a thoughtful, assessing expression as she looked at Darian.

Although Darian was highly curious about Tsunade in person, he didn't demand repayment from her for bailing her out; his priority was figuring out his situation.

At this moment, Darian, who had resumed eating, felt incredibly unsettled. The fact that he had transmigrated across universes again made him restless, and even the delicious, savory oden on the table suddenly lost its appeal.

Tsunade was indeed an incredibly tempting, legendary beauty, but the world of One Piece also contained Nami, Robin, Vivi, and his entire harem of devoted pirate women. It absolutely wasn't worth giving up an entire, established ocean of beautiful flowers just to pick one difficult flower here.

With his mind entirely preoccupied with figuring out the spatial mechanics of how he had traveled through the world, and desperately calculating whether there was any chance of him reversing the anomaly to travel back, Darian had absolutely no interest in paying attention to Tsunade and her assistant.

"Shizune, let's check out while we still can," Tsunade muttered.

"Yes, Lady Tsunade."

Shizune hesitated before reaching into her kimono for her small wallet; it was the last bit of money they had to their names.

However...

"Huh?! Where's my wallet?!"

Shizune patted her obi frantically, completely dumbfounded! Then it immediately dawned on her. "It was those Yakuza guys from earlier! One of them must have stolen my wallet during the commotion!"

Shizune panicked, her eyes widening in horror, and Tsunade looked completely dumbfounded.

Knowing that Tsunade was a violent deadbeat, one of the thugs who had crawled on the floor and grabbed Shizune's leg earlier was actually a highly skilled pickpocket. While Shizune was distracted by clinging to his leg and feeling guilty, he had taken advantage of her momentary lapse in attention and smoothly sliced the purse hanging from her waist.

Shizune looked ready to cry from the stress, while Tsunade remained remarkably calm, simply sitting back down in the booth with a heavy sigh.

"Owner," Tsunade called out lazily. "Let me write you an IOU for the drinks, and we'll settle the bill next time we pass through town."

If it weren't for the highly public, screaming debt-collection scene that had just happened, the boss might have simply swallowed his pride and accepted the IOU out of fear. But now that he knew for an absolute fact that they were broke and drowning in a mountain of debt, he would only agree if he were completely out of his mind!

"I'm deeply sorry, Ma'am, but we're a small, struggling business," the owner said firmly, crossing his arms. "We absolutely cannot accept late payments or IOUs today."

Tsunade hadn't held out much hope for that working anyway, so her gaze naturally fell on the small, plump little pig trembling in Shizune's arms.

However, before the Sannin could even speak, Shizune took a large, protective step back and glared warily. "Tonton is not emergency food, Lady Tsunade! And she absolutely cannot be sold to the kitchen!"

The little pig let out a terrified squeal and burrowed frantically deep into Shizune's kimono, trembling uncontrollably.

Tsunade, having her dark thoughts immediately exposed by her assistant, chuckled dryly. "How could you think such a thing of me? Tonton is so cute... how could I possibly eat Tonton? Cough, cough."

The more defensive she sounded, the more incredibly guilty she looked!

Then, just as Tsunade was mentally preparing to stay and wash dishes to pay off her drinking debts, she noticed the thick, heavy coin purse that Darian had carelessly placed on the table next to his empty plates.

Sitting at his table, Darian absentmindedly chewed his chicken skewers, his mind heavily preoccupied with advanced physics and how to cross the multiverse back to his ship. He didn't even notice that Tsunade had locked her hungry, predatory eyes on him. Returning to his pirate empire was infinitely more important to him than exploring this ninja world.

As Darian struggled to formulate a tactical response to the Rainbow Mist anomaly, a bold, confident voice reached his ears.

"Excuse me, handsome. Could you perhaps lend a lady some money?"

Darian turned his head and looked up. A massive expanse of flawless, pale skin and an impossibly deep, intoxicating cleavage suddenly filled his entire field of vision, making him feel a little dizzy from the sheer proximity.

But Darian was a man who had seen and conquered a lot of beautiful women recently. After a brief moment of aesthetic shock, he quickly recovered his cold composure.

"What do you want?"

Darian looked up at Tsunade expressionlessly, meeting her gaze.

At just over 1.6 meters tall, Tsunade was quite short compared to Darian's massive frame. As Darian sat in his chair, Tsunade stood right in front of him, leaning over his table, her majestic, gravity-defying snow-capped peaks intentionally blocking his view of the rest of the room.

She hadn't noticed from across the room, but now that she was standing so intimately close to Darian and saw his face clearly, Tsunade was momentarily lost in thought. For a split second, looking into his eyes, it was as if she saw Kato Dan—her long-dead lover.

This was the terrifying, passive charm of his specific Devil Fruit. There is a natural limit to how conventionally attractive a normal human can be, but the Human Path abilities had subtly corrected and enhanced Darian's facial features over time, creating a flawless, hypnotic golden ratio of masculine beauty.

As Darian developed his fruit's capabilities more deeply through Dual Cultivation, a woman could almost subconsciously project the specific qualities she found most attractive onto his face. Some women liked young, energetic boys, some liked ruggedly handsome men, and some liked older, authoritative figures. Under the passive influence of the Devil Fruit, almost all of these traits could be sensed in Darian's aura, which is exactly why Tsunade was somewhat dazed and caught off guard.

However, as a Kage-level powerhouse who had survived brutal wars, Tsunade's mental willpower was still incredibly strong. After a moment of stunned, painful silence, she quickly shook her head and came back to her senses.

Seeing Tsunade's somewhat dazed, vulnerable expression, Darian didn't care. He said with a hint of genuine annoyance, "If you don't have actual business with me, don't bother me. Can't you see I'm eating?"

As a seasoned kunoichi, Tsunade thoroughly understood the practical art of seduction for espionage. By deliberately leaning forward and pressing her two massive, soft mounds dangerously close to Darian's face, Tsunade was actively trying to seduce him. This wasn't the first time she'd weaponized her legendary assets; she'd swindled countless lecherous, wealthy men out of their money this way.

After regaining her focus, Tsunade put a hand on her hip, puffed out her proud, heavy breasts even further, and smiled alluringly. "How about lending me some gold, handsome? Just a small loan. I promise I'll pay you back with heavy interest right after I win some money at the local casino tonight."

"Absolutely not. I don't have any money to spare."

As he spoke, Darian snatched his heavy purse from the table and swiftly stuffed it deep into his pocket.

Spending so much time intimately linked with Nami, Darian had unknowingly picked up the navigator's extremely stingy, protective habits regarding treasure. If you weren't incredibly careful while staying by Nami's side, your wallet could be expertly emptied at any time. Darian had learned to guard his gold.

Darian's blatant, unapologetic lying really angered Tsunade. How could such an incredibly handsome man be so rudely stingy when faced with a beautiful woman?

Tsunade lost her patience. She grabbed Darian by the collar of his designer shirt and angrily leaned down, practically pressing her face against his.

Holy crap... Darian thought, his eyes crossing slightly. I'm going to burst into a tirade if she doesn't back up.

As a result, Tsunade completely disregarded the honorable code of the shinobi and actually attempted to use a low-level visual 'genjutsu' of seduction on him! The overwhelming sight of her snow-white abyss so close to his face made him feel momentarily dizzy.

"Hey, kid. What exactly is wrong with you?" Tsunade purred, her voice dripping with artificial seduction, blowing a hot breath of air directly against his earlobe. "Such a legendary, beautiful woman is standing right in front of you, begging for a favor. Are you even a real man?"

Seeing that he wasn't immediately folding, Tsunade did not give up using her feminine wiles. Bullying Shizune was no longer enough to satisfy Tsunade's perverse, frustrated mood today. Scamming an arrogant, rich kid like Darian to the point of bankruptcy would be a great lesson for someone who dared to deny her money after seeing her cleavage.

Especially since Darian's dark gaze toward her chest was quite explicit, and Tsunade clearly noticed his physical response beneath the table.

Tsunade fully expected that after her aggressive, sensual combo attack, Darian would blush, stutter, and obediently hand over his heavy wallet. But she was met with a cold, deadpan response.

"I said: I have no money for you."

With Tsunade aggressively grabbing his collar, the neckline of the expensive shirt Nami had meticulously picked out for him was pulled wide and stretched. If it weren't for the fact that Tsunade was a legendary, incredibly powerful woman he recognized, Darian probably would have violently backhanded her out the same hole as the Yakuza.

Borrow money? Don't even think about it! Darian scoffed internally. Tsunade is a super 'fat sheep' who literally always loses at gambling; she was literally just being chased by loan sharks five minutes ago! Lending her money is like throwing a premium steak to a starving dog—it's gone forever!

He absolutely wouldn't engage in a financial deal that was statistically guaranteed to lose money! So what if it was the legendary Tsunade Senju who wanted the loan? Did she expect to repay him by letting him fuck her?

Having aggressively used her seduction techniques and thinking it would be a guaranteed success, Tsunade was genuinely shocked to be flatly, coldly rejected by Darian again. For the first time in years, she couldn't help but start to doubt her own feminine charm.

Not only did her seduction fail completely, but the restaurant boss—who was waiting anxiously for her payment—also gave her a highly skeptical look, as if asking if she was losing her touch. Tsunade was really starting to lose her composure and her temper.

"Hey, brat! Don't be ungrateful," Tsunade snapped, her tone shifting from seductive to incredibly dangerous. "I am Tsunade Senju, one of the Legendary Sannin of the Hidden Leaf Village. Go ask around—who in the entire ninja world doesn't know my name? What exactly is your problem with lending me a few coins?!"

Enraged and humiliated by the rejection, Tsunade resorted to direct intimidation, flaring her immense chakra.

From Darian's casual, devastating physical attack on the Yakuza boss moments prior, Tsunade knew for a fact that Darian was no ordinary civilian. Although she couldn't sense any active chakra pathways in his body, there were advanced ninjutsu techniques in this world that could perfectly conceal one's aura. As long as he was a trained shinobi or samurai, Tsunade was certain he wouldn't be unaware of her terrifying reputation.

Didn't he see the utterly shocked, terrified expression on the izakaya owner's face when she loudly revealed her title as one of the Sannin?

But to Tsunade's immense disappointment and rising fury, Darian simply responded with the exact same, cold, indifferent expression.

Tsunade! The literal Queen of Naruto fanfiction! Who didn't know her?!

But right now, all Darian could think about was the physics of the Rainbow Mist and how to get back to the One Piece world to his pirate empire. He had absolutely zero interest in entertaining Tsunade's gambling debts.

Meanwhile, in the One Piece Universe:

The dense, shimmering Rainbow Mist enveloping the waters around Ruluka Island gradually dissipated into the atmosphere, leaving the ocean clear and bright once again.

However, Darian was nowhere to be seen on the deck of the Little Fish.

"What the hell happened?! Where did Darian go?!" Nami yelled, panicking as she searched the empty deck.

Robin crossed one arm beneath her chest and gently stroked her chin with her other hand, looking deeply thoughtful. She offered a slight, sly, and deeply morbid smile.

"Local Grand Line legends state that ancient, vengeful ghosts roam within the Rainbow Mist to claim the living," Robin said smoothly. "Perhaps our dear Captain was finally dragged to hell by a ghost for all his sins?"

Upon hearing Robin's dark, terrifying theory, Nami, Carmen, and Marianne all froze, expressions of absolute, pale horror spreading across their faces.
