Chapter 1 - 1:Warning

'This is fucking boring'

Alistair thought as he looked at the four beautiful girls sitting opposite him. He regretted accepting the offer to come to this blind date.

"Hey, you've got to act interested. They agreed to come because you were coming, don't let us down, man," one of his self-appointed friends whispered harshly to him.

Alistair almost rolled his eyes but he didn't want to be rude.

"Hey, Ali are you still single?"

One of the girls asked. She leaned forward slightly her ample cleavage visible.

He wasn't impressed.

"Yes, it seems the universe just doesn't want me get a girlfriend. "

He said with a smirk curving on his face. The girl's eyes brightened. She squeezed her breasts even more and tucked her black hair behind her ears shyly. He knew what was coming.

Before she could speak Alistair stood up abruptly.

"Thank you for the invite but it seems I have a prior appointment. It was nice meeting you."

His so-called friends tried to hold his trousers and pulled him back, but Alistair slapped their hands away each time and got out of the small private room.

"Pathetic fools. Can't get a girl without riding on my cocktail. "

He muttered to himself softly. He just wanted to go to bed and sleep.

He looked at the time as he walked out of the upscale restaurant.

"It's midnight already?"

Alistair muttered to himself. He could feel the frustration building up. He always had a strict schedule. Right now he was two hours behind on his sleep.

"Hey!"

Alistair ignored the shout that echoed across the quiet parking lot. He hadn't left his key with the valet since he didn't want anyone inside his car.

"Hey, you with the platinum hair," he still ignored it he wasn't the only one with that colour.

Footsteps pounded behind him. He quickened his speed and got into his sports car.

You can never tell whether it was a serial killer or a hooker.

"Do not drink anything weird!"

The familiar voice shouted as he drove the car and pulled out of the parking lot. He didn't even look at the person who had tried to approach him.

On the highway, the drive was weirdly smooth. No cars passed by him and he seemed to be the only one on the road.

He looked at the screen to confirm the day and time.

12:30 Am, Friday.

He didn't even continue looking. Whatever was going on, he didn't want to know.

He just had to get home in one piece.

LATE NIGHT CONVENIENT STORE

His attention was disrupted by the near blinding convenient store sign. He had never noticed it and something seemed to be pulling him to the store.

He turned the car and entered the parking lot, and got out of the car, wondering what he was doing right now.

He had really destroyed his schedule this time.

He pushed the glass door open causing the hanging bells to ring. It felt joyous but also ominous like a warning that he couldn't quite grasp.

Maybe it was just his brain complaining; he chalked up the weirdness to that.

"Welcome to the late night convenient store."

A lazy from came startling him. He looked around the well-organised store, but he still couldn't find the source. The place was warm, inviting even. Just like a normal stores good were organised neatly on the shelf.

The floor didn't even have a speck of dust. This made him feel like he was dirtying the place.

His chest felt heavy, but his feet dragged forward as he scanned the empty store continuously.

"Where are you?" He asked as his eyes skirted around.

An old hand shot out from the two isles from him. This almost gave him an early heart attack.

"You can just pick anything, it's self-check out."

Alistair nodded and walked towards the fridge. He picked a random drink, paid hurriedly, and left the weird store.

This unplanned visit didn't sit well with him. He felt oddly disturbed. The night wind brushed against his bare skin causing him to shiver. He looked up at the bright moon and the star-filled sky and sighed.

'The night sky is more beautiful today '

Alistair walked back to his car and sat inside without starting the car. He threw the drink on the passenger seat and leaned fully on the chair.

"Just what the hell is wrong with me, I shouldn't have gone to this blind date."

He was rich enough to get anyone he wanted. He had managed to start his own restaurant and cafe business, and slowly he had managed to open more branches across the US.

His love for coffee and cooking had managed to feed him despite being orphaned just after he finished high school.

The little insurance had been the only thing that kept him going despite being only nineteen. At thirty he was happy with his progress.

"I feel kind of thirsty," he whispered to himself and turned to look at the white drink he had bought.

GUIDES

The name of the drink was awfully large and colorful despite its dull color.

"That's a weird name, I've never seen this company before," he muttered to himself and reached over the chair to pick up the drink.

He opened it and gulped it down it was an unexpectedly sweet drink. It tasted like peaches and a subtle hint of roses. Just enough to make him want a second bottle.

"No, I'll come for it tomorrow. "

He backed up and slowly drove out of the convenience store and into the now somewhat busy highway.

Alistair assumed they were drunks going back home.

As the building disappeared and the car drove on the bridge, his eyes started to blur.

He immediately tried to brake, but his leg refused to move, and he accidentally pressed on the accelerator.

His hands slid off the stirring wheel and the car swerved. It was a blessing that it didn't hit the other cars, as it hit the bridge's metallic walls and overturned, and free-fell into the river.

In his last moment as the car hit the water, the only thing he could remember was not to drink any weird things.

He should have stopped when he got called at the hotel. The day had really been warning him.

Everything went dark after that.
