Chapter 29 - Unbelievably beautiful!

He pointed to one part of the list. "For example, I added high density fog lights on the rear for better visibility. They help a lot in harsh weather. And since you requested steel spikes on the front, I decided to add an electrification function. You can activate it from inside the vehicle. This makes it safer to use and also, well, cooler looking."

He chuckled awkwardly, then pointed to other lines on the screen. "We also added reinforced bottom plates, stronger inner supports, and some structural adjustments to handle the weight of all the upgrades. Everything is listed here."

The manager continued, "Since the materials are military grade and the modification time is limited to four days, we need extra workers and rush orders. So after rounding everything up, the total cost comes to roughly five hundred thousand yuan. Is that alright, Miss Bai?"

Bai Li barely reacted. She glanced at the number and nodded like someone buying a cup of coffee instead of a small armored home.

"Yea, it is fine. Let us close the deal."

The manager lit up like a light bulb. "Yes, yes, of course, Miss Bai."

They brought out a few more documents. Bai Li signed them without hesitation, filling in her details with neat handwriting. The assistant verified everything on the system and registered the caravan under her name. Then Bai Li opened her banking app and transferred the full amount.

The manager and employee both leaned forward slightly, waiting for the confirmation tone like children waiting for a candy wrapper to open.

The moment her phone beeped, both men straightened and smiled so brightly it almost hurt to look at.

"Payment received," the manager said. "Thank you, Miss Bai. We will begin the upgrades today and finish everything exactly on time."

Bai Li stood up. "I look forward to the delivery."

The manager bowed slightly, like he was thanking her for blessing the company with a miracle.

With her business done, Bai Li walked out of the showroom feeling completely calm. Her apartment was being turned into a fortress. Her caravan was turning into a moving bunker.

With this, most of her heavy and time consuming preparation was done.

Thinking of this, Bai Li couldn't help but feel a little proud of herself and also feel a little relaxed for the first time since coming to this world.

Even though, right now, she only had roughly about five million yuan left in her bank but Bai Li felt that it was enough to get done every other preparation on her list and maybe she would even have a small amount of money left. Well, that didn't really matter to her.

But, Just thinking about her initial 28 million yuan drop to just five million made her feel a little unreal. Even though, in her previous life, she had amassed a lot more wealth than this mere 28 million thanks to her side businesses but she was never much of a big spender and it was her first time spending more than 20 million yuan in just 24 hours.

Anyway, money was not her priority at the moment and she just needed to think about what to do next.

..

..

It was almost eleven thirty in the morning when Bai Li finally returned to her apartment building. She stepped out of the elevator and the quiet of the upper floor wrapped around her right away. The hallway was empty and calm, the kind of silence that felt a little unreal in a busy city.

As she walked forward, her steps slowed without her realizing it. Right ahead, near the door of the condo on this floor, stood a woman with her back turned. She seemed to be locking her door, one hand holding the handle while the other moved calmly.

Bai Li frowned slightly. Something about that back felt familiar.

She walked a little closer, her eyes fixed on the figure. Then it clicked.

Yesterday in the elevator!

The beautiful woman she had noticed when she was going downstairs. The same calm posture, the same quiet presence. Bai Li felt a strange sense of surprise rise in her chest.

So this was her neighbor.

The timing almost felt unreal, like fate was playing a trick on her. She had just moved in, and the person living next door turned out to be the same woman who had already left an impression on her once.

Lost in thought, Bai Li didn't even realize she had slowed to a stop.

Just then, the woman finished locking her door and turned around.

Bai Li lifted her eyes.

And froze.

For a split second, her mind went completely blank.

The woman standing in front of her was stunning in a way that didn't feel loud or aggressive. It was the kind of beauty that made you pause without understanding why. Calm, gentle, but impossible to ignore.

Her face… Bai Li had never seen a face like that up close.

Unbelievably beautiful.

Her face had that almost unreal balance of softness and coldness, like someone carved her features with too much care. Her skin was pale and smooth, the kind that looked untouched by sunlight or stress. Her eyes were striking long, cool, clear, the sort of eyes that made you look twice because you couldn't believe a person could be born with them. They carried a distant calm, but they were so stunning that Bai Li felt them like a quiet blow to the chest.

Her nose was elegant and refined, giving her entire face a clean, graceful shape. And her lips… naturally soft, naturally perfect. Even without makeup, they looked like they had been painted on with the softest brush. She didn't smile, not really, but even the faint movement at the corner of her mouth had enough power to make Bai Li's heartbeat stutter.

Her hair framed her face with such smoothness that it almost looked unreal, each strand falling neatly as if it had been styled for hours even though it clearly wasn't. Nothing about her was loud or dramatic, but every detail stood out in a way that didn't make sense.
