Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Perni Parker's Identity

"Your background is very clean."

"We believe that on the day of the incident, you saved the passengers in the car out of humanitarianism."

"I thank you on their behalf. Also..."

"There are some things you must know."

At this point, he looked at her very seriously.

"Earth is currently facing the danger of alien invasion at any time."

"For this, I officially invite you to join the Avengers to protect Earth."

Penny's eyes widened, and the room was silent for one to two minutes... then she burst out laughing: "Pfft... Hahahaha... What comic plot are you talking about?"

— I didn't expect such a serious uncle to read superhero comics!

— So ridiculous... Oh no, I mean so cute! Hahahahahaha!

Nick Fury's face instantly darkened.

Penny still hadn't stopped laughing after ten minutes.

Nick sneered: "Is it that funny, Spider-Man?"

"Cough, uh, cough, cough..." Penny immediately stopped laughing.

And looked at him in shock, a sight Nick Fury was happy to see.

"I gave you a chance, but you didn't take it! Motherfucker!"

"You think you're well hidden?"

"S.H.I.E.L.D. has long noticed the Spider-Man who swings around the city all day!"

Penny still maintained her shocked expression.

So Nick continued his spiel.

"In fact, if it weren't for the accident a few days ago, your identity as Spider-Man would not have been exposed!"

"It's just that you made a move that day! So we locked onto you!"

"A person who perfectly matches Spider-Man!"

The projection showed various analyses of Spider-Man's physique and height.

From capturing Spider-Man's travel routes.

Inferring information such as what school she might attend or work, and which district she lives in.

Then all pointers led to Penny Parker, with a probability of over ninety-five percent.

"Why are you investigating Spider-Man? She hasn't committed any crimes!"

"And... Spider-Man has retired." Penny's expression was complex.

"Is that so?" Nick still had a knowing expression.

"Is it because during her six years as Spider-Man, she saved countless people..."

"But couldn't save her college classmate, Gwen Stacy, so she gave up on herself and hid for two years?"

Hearing this, Penny's face darkened: "What exactly do you want to say?"

"What do I want to say? I want to say! Earth is facing danger!"

Nick slammed the table angrily at this point.

"And this isn't funny! Because your Aunt Mei, everyone you know, is in mortal danger!"

"You have extraordinary power but only want to be an ordinary person? Stop your internal struggle! Motherfucker!"

Nick's expression was both angry and serious.

Penny controlled her emotions slightly and calmly said: "I apologize for making fun of you just now, sir."

Nick's anger also instantly dissipated upon hearing her apology.

"Listen."

He finally looked at Penny seriously: "Spider-Man's true identity, apart from me and a few of my confidants, no one knows."

"S.H.I.E.L.D. will not use this as a threat, at least I won't, so..."

"I'll give you time to consider joining the Avengers! Now, you can leave."

Penny was dismissed, and she sighed as she left the room.

At this moment, a low, hoarse voice sounded behind her: "It seems you two had a pleasant chat."

She turned her head and saw the Red-haired Agent leaning against the wall, arms crossed, looking at her.

Penny hesitated: "Probably not, he was very angry with me."

"Normal, that's just his personality." Natasha had also vaguely heard what was happening inside from outside.

She smiled: "Let's go, kid, it's time to take you back."

Penny said sternly: "I hope you don't call me that word a second time!"

The Red-haired Agent turned indifferently and led her forward.

Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division, abbreviated as S.H.I.E.L.D.

S.H.I.E.L.D. was originally an international peacekeeping, law enforcement, and counter-terrorism agency.

Later, it gradually developed into an agency specifically dealing with various threats facing Earth.

Including aliens, supernatural forces, and so on.

It is an agency with vast intelligence on international terrorist organizations or criminal groups.

"Currently, you are the first person to pass the Avengers observation." Natasha led her through twists and turns.

Penny hesitantly asked: "...I'm honored?"

"Perhaps." The Red-haired Agent looked back at her.

She continued: "We are all encountering Mutants for the first time."

"Before this, countless rigorous investigations and evaluations have been conducted on you, including those six years as a good neighbor."

"So we want you to join us as soon as possible."

Penny intentionally forgot the unpleasantness just now and started chatting with Natasha.

"But, Director Fury's talk about resisting alien invasion, isn't that ridiculous?" Penny pouted.

— Are there really aliens in this World?

Natasha shrugged and said: "I don't know, but since genetically modified people and Mutants exist, it's not strange for aliens to exist."

Penny Parker's eyes lit up: "Genetically modified people? That's so cool!"

"That's not cool at all." Natasha said with a cold gaze and a faint smile.

"Human genes are a very complex technology; arbitrary modification can lead to many unknown mutations, and no one can guarantee that genetic modification is safe."

Then she and Penny arrived at the last elevator.

"The exit is up here."

She gestured that from here, Penny needed to leave alone.

"Alright." Penny walked in.

Natasha was about to press the close button for her.

Penny suddenly blocked the door with her hand.

"...Uh... I mean, maybe... could you give me your contact information?"

The Red-haired Agent paused, then raised an eyebrow.

Observing the nervousness on Penny's face: "Of course, kid."

Penny Parker silently pumped her fist in a "YES" gesture, then reacted and said annoyedly.

"Don't call me kid!"

Natasha took a pen from her pocket, then took Penny's hand and scribbled on it.

This made Penny's eyes widen slightly.

Natasha's hand was not as soft as she imagined, but calloused and slightly rough to the touch.

Her fingers were long and slender with distinct joints, and their temperature was cool, contrary to her own perpetually warm hands.

She saw the number written on her palm, her expression visibly joyful.

Natasha just smiled faintly at her, then pressed the elevator button.

"But one thing you should know is that I won't reply often."

As she finished speaking, the elevator door had already closed.

Watching the numbers on the display screen gradually rise, Natasha pressed her earphone: "Did you hear that? I've tried my best to persuade her."

"Hmph." A disgruntled snort came from the earphone.

Nick Fury then mocked: "And you charmed her, I think you should have been in the Director's office just now, maybe you would have recruited her by now."

Natasha rubbed her forehead: "I'm not interested in children, and especially not a 'little girl'."

"Heh, you're only a year older than her."

[For those who say Black Widow is from the World War II era, I will not reply. Please watch the movie or check the data first.]

[I reiterate that Black Widow was born in 1984, a setting completely from the Marvel Universe movies.]

[She is not a World War II character, do not be misled by comics.]
