Chapter 315 - NUCT: Chapter 315

RUMBLEEEEE…

Dark clouds gathered thick across the sky, and lightning flashed wildly within them.

If you looked closely, you could just make out a figure appearing and vanishing faintly between the storm clouds.

Down below, the scene was no less extraordinary.

A sand giant more than ten meters tall roared furiously toward the heavens.

Beside it stood a massive tree reaching over twenty meters high, its trunk and branches scorched black — clearly acting as a natural lightning rod.

Behind the man sewn together all over, a pair of fleshy wings had sprouted, and he hovered clumsily in mid‑air.

On the ground stood the well‑dressed gentleman, who now seemed utterly confident of victory.

"Kongni, you won't escape this time. Join us. After all, don't you hate humans just as much as we do?"

There was a short pause before a voice rang out from the clouds above.

"You are wrong. I do not hate anyone. All I seek is absolute power. What does it matter who rules this world? If you keep hounding me, do not blame me for being merciless."

Hearing this reply, the gentleman sighed as if dealing with a stubborn child.

"Very well then — let us make a wager. If I cannot defeat you within five minutes, I will let you go free forever. But if you lose, you will join us officially and follow our orders. Do you accept?"

"How arrogant!"

Hidden within the storm clouds, Kongni was clearly provoked. "Agreed! Within five minutes, I will tear you to pieces!"

Thunder boomed across the sky as if echoing her declaration.

"You two, stay well back," the gentleman ordered.

He casually took off his top hat and tossed it aside.

Mahito drifted down from above, looking curious. "Ohh? Is Mr. Enemy going to take matters into his own hands? But—"

"It is fine. Consider these five minutes the last chance I give them. My patience is wearing thin."

"Shall I observe a moment of silence for them in advance then?"

"The best help you can give me right now is to stay far away."

With that, Mr. Enemy loosened most of the restraints holding back the power of Moxi inside him, removing part of his own seals while keeping only the most fundamental layer intact.

Under such circumstances, Moxi would surely fight back fiercely, trying to break free completely. But Mr. Enemy seemed fully confident — believing he could maintain control for five minutes and defeat Kongni in that time.

This only enraged Kongni further!

"Thunderous Curse Art — Lightning Dragon!"

A colossal dragon of pure lightning burst forth from the black storm clouds. It let out a deafening roar, its eyes blazing with terrifying light, then dove downward at incredible speed.

Countless bolts of lightning crashed down alongside it, painting a scene straight out of the end of the world!

Faced with this overwhelming attack, Mr. Enemy — having removed part of his own limits — suddenly crossed his arms and formed a hand seal, aiming the hollow space between his palms toward the sky.

"Are you ready to face reality, my little one?"

"Obliteration Curse Art — Antimatter Beam!"

BOOM!

A narrow black beam, no thicker than a man's body, shot straight into the lightning dragon's head — looking almost as insignificant as someone shining a laser pointer into the sky.

But the result was beyond shocking.

The moment it made contact, the giant lightning dragon began to dissolve and disintegrate into nothingness!

The terrifying beam continued onward without losing strength, piercing deep into the storm clouds.

From a distance, it looked as though it had punched a hole straight through the sky itself!

---

At the same time, not far away —

The Raikage and his men watched in awe at the horrifying display unfolding in the distance.

Ever since their last battle, Kongni had vanished completely, leaving them constantly on edge. So the Raikage had ordered his men to resume tracking her movements.

To their surprise, they found that another group was actively pursuing Kongni!

That alone was startling enough — but what came next was far worse.

Risking their lives, his scouts sent back reports revealing that this "group" was not human at all, but powerful Cursed Spirits.

Worse still, they seemed to have organized themselves into a proper faction, and their goal in chasing Kongni was not to kill her — but to recruit her.

This news sent shockwaves through the Raikage and the entire leadership of Hidden Cloud Village.

Even just dealing with Kongni alone had already stretched their forces thin — largely because she could fly and evade capture so easily.

They could hardly imagine what would happen if a whole gathering of such fearsome monsters united!

If that came to pass, no single ninja village would stand a chance. It could very well mean the end of humanity itself.

Acting decisively, the Raikage ordered his men to keep tracking the group no matter the cost, while also gathering Hidden Cloud's strongest warriors to stop their plans.

This was why they had come to this place.

Yet one uncertain factor still divided their opinions — Kongni herself.

From all reports, Kongni had already fought these spirits multiple times, which proved she refused to join them, even though they were supposedly "of the same kind."

That was hardly surprising. Humans were split into countless factions, each individual with their own will — no one could force someone to join simply because they belonged to the same race.

"We are all human, so you must follow us" — such logic would never hold, even if the world was ending.

Given Kongni's stance, the Raikage's council proposed two possible plans:

1. Form an alliance with Kongni to defeat the other Cursed Spirits together.

2. Wait until both sides weakened each other, then strike and kill them all — including Kongni.

The first seemed safer, but carried the risk of betrayal. They were still enemies at heart, and if they misjudged her intentions, it could prove disastrous.

Yet if it worked, their losses would be far lower, and victory far more certain — given how powerful Kongni truly was.

The second plan relied entirely on their own strength. The best‑case scenario was both sides wearing each other down, but it was far more likely that Kongni would be overwhelmed and defeated first.

Which choice should he make?

For a man as bold and decisive as the Raikage, this was an extremely rare moment of hesitation.

But as time passed and the battle above grew clearer, his resolve hardened.

"Listen closely! Once we engage, do not target Kongni for now. All attacks focus on the other Cursed Spirits first. If you are attacked, you may defend yourselves. Is that understood?!"

"YES, LORD RAIKAGE!!"

"Bee, Yugito Nii — it falls to you two. Give it everything you have. Hold nothing back!"

Killer Bee and Yugito Nii nodded in unison, and an overwhelming, churning mass of strange chakra erupted from their bodies!
