This time, it was Shinji's turn to stand on the sidelines and slack off completely.
Itachi's vision blurred again. A line of blood and tears streamed down his face, and he groaned, clutching his eye tightly.
He had used Amaterasu twice yesterday, and now forced it out again today.
In just these two days, he had used his Mangekyō Sharingan more times than he had in the past few months combined.
He knew he couldn't keep abusing this power like this. Otherwise, he would go completely blind long before the day came when Sasuke was strong enough to stand before him.
His body was also deteriorating steadily.
So even though it looked like one more Amaterasu would likely kill her, Itachi chose not to push his body and eyes any further.
After all, it was only a possibility. Who knew what other tricks she might have up her sleeve to stay alive?
Besides, it was about time the guy next to him did some work.
Otherwise, wasn't he just letting Shinji reap the benefits?
And so, Itachi deactivated his Mangekyō Sharingan. Susanoo vanished along with it.

Shinji was speechless. If he didn't know for a fact that this guy would still be able to pull out a full Susanoo three years from now and beat the crap out of Sasuke, he would actually have believed him.

In the blink of an eye, Shinji realized the enemy had vanished.
Itachi looked equally surprised.
"Kisame!"
Not far away, Kisame was rubbing his shoulders—the wounds from earlier had split open again. He immediately straightened up. "Leave it to me! She won't escape!"
Water Release: Great Exploding Water Colliding Wave!
After forming seals, Kisame leaped into the air. He gathered chakra in his throat and expelled enough water to form an entire lake over the ground.
Yet, there was no sign of the enemy within the water.
Itachi thought for a moment and looked up towards the sky. "Kisame! Above you!"
"Roger!"
Four Sharks!
Kisame slammed his hand onto the water surface, creating four massive water sharks that leaped vertically into the air.
Then, he grabbed Samehada and swung it hard.
Samehada: Flying Chain Slash!
The handle of the blade suddenly extended over ten meters, bending like a chain. It struck the four water sharks repeatedly as it whipped through the air.
Instantly, the four sharks split apart into a thousand tiny water bullets, shaped like miniature sharks, filling the entire sky.
Shinji also guessed the enemy was hiding in the air, and his hands moved just as fast.
Crimson Manipulation Art: Supernova!
Blood bullets sprayed out in all directions like a shotgun blast.
Suddenly, it was as if he had hit something invisible in the air. The air turned red, and the surrounding water shark bullets also struck true.
Under the combined assault of water and blood, the figure in the sky was finally forced to reveal itself.
It was indeed Moxi, who had regenerated from her tail!
But now, Moxi had grown her eighth tail—a green insectoid tail.
Furthermore, six translucent orange butterfly wings had sprouted from her back.

But just as the Gentleman was about to leave, Shinji—who had been waiting for this moment—finally stopped slacking off.
He pulled out the [Unfortunate Microphone] and poured a massive amount of cursed energy directly into his throat.
"DIE!"
Shinji didn't hold back at all; he intended to kill the man on the spot!
He had suspected they were being used, and now seeing this "Gentleman" appear and try to play the hero, Shinji decided to flip the table entirely!
With Shinji unleashing his full power without regard for the cost, the Gentleman's vision instantly went dark. He began coughing up blood and was about to collapse face-forward.
But at the critical moment, a hand covered in stitch marks reached out from inside the portal, grabbed the Gentleman's clothes, and dragged him inside instantly.
The spatial rift closed immediately, vanishing without a trace.
Meanwhile, Shinji was suffering from the severe backlash. His entire throat exploded, and his head lolled to the side, hanging on by only a thin strip of flesh and skin.
Itachi and Kisame were shocked, thinking he had been hit by some unknown enemy attack.
After "dying" and then regaining consciousness, Shinji immediately wanted to unleash his Domain, but it was already too late.
"Shit! That bastard got away again!"
He was furious. The reason he hadn't opened his Domain immediately and instead risked death to use the Curse Speech first was simple: If he died while the Domain was active, the Domain would disappear.
He could only use his Domain once per day right now; he couldn't afford to waste it. So he chose to strike first with the [Curse Speech].
It only took three seconds to set up.
He was certain that a Curse Speech released with his life on the line would definitely hurt the enemy badly.
He just couldn't believe they still managed to escape!
So frustrating!
Reverse Cursed Technique: Heal!
The damaged parts regenerated instantly, and his neck reattached itself firmly to his body.
Although he could regenerate an entirely new body, there was no need to waste that much cursed energy.
