Chapter 5 - Life In The Hidden Village II

(Gojo's POV)

I was sitting down at the dumplings place, "Mmm...." I said, taking one into my mouth, "As always, dumplings are quite tasty."

It had been later that day, and I felt hungry, so I came over here and decided to have a bite. I was alone, and it felt quite peaceful to eat without someone nagging me.

As I took a sip of the cola that I had asked for, I felt a presence behind me. It had suddenly appeared out of nowhere, as if they were trying to sneak up on me.

"Hm." I said as I chewed on the dumpling, "Why does it always have to be during my meals?"

"Oh." I heard Kakashi's voice say, "So you've noticed me."

"Of course I did, man." I said with a scowl, "What do you want?"

He stood up from the booth behind me and walked over to mine, sitting in front of me and crossing his arms.

"I was told by Lady Tsunade about your previous mission." He said as he looked at me, his left eye covered by his headband, "It involved the Hidden Mist and potentially, the Akatsuki."

"Hm." I said, "Yea, what of it."

"You had a run-in with the Seven Swordsmen." He said, a serious expression, "Is that true?"

"Yea, two of them." I said, "It wasn't an issue. Why do you ask?"

"I am quite surprised." He said, "I once had a run-in with one of them myself, the one known as Zabuza."

"I heard of him." I said, "He's quite the vicious one."

"He was." He said, "Not much is known about his current whereabouts. They say he is dead but he was spotted with his pupil not too long ago. They are quite elusive, those Mist Ninja."

"Yea, they are." I said, "But I don't see an issue in the long-run. Unless they do have ties with he Akatsuki. Now, that might be a problem."

"That is why I am here to see you." He said, "If there is a confirmation that the Akatsuki would make a move on the Leaf, we have to be prepared. That incident, not too long ago, put Lady Tsunade on edge. She believes that our Jinchuriki might be targeted."

I took a bite of a dumpling, "If Naruko-chan is targeted, I will deal with them myself." I said, "And I suppose you would do the same, Kakashi."

"I would have no choice." He said, "She is my pupil after all."

I nodded, "Then we're in the same page, then." I said, "We'll keep her safe, as well as her mother. Nothing will happen."

"You have an awful amount of confidence, Gojo." He said, "Why is that?"

"Because I'm strong." I said as I took a sip of the cola

"Such confidence could backfire on you." Kakashi said, "I suggest trying to take things more seriously."

"The world is at peace." I said, "We should enjoy that."

"That peace could easily be shattered if the Akatsuki are to be left to their own devices." Kakashi said, "You know that much."

"Do you want to destroy them then?" I asked as I tossed another dumpling into my mouth, chewing on it, "Is that it? You want to send me over to their headquarters and get rid of them?"

"Do you know where it is?" Kakashi asked, "Cause that could be an option. We don't know much about them."

"I told you." I said, "Their leader uses the Rinnegan."

"That was left to Lord Jiraiya to confirm." He said, "We can't act with haste."

"I know." I said, "Which is why I am here and waiting on Tsunade-san's orders. If she tells me to go and handle them, I will."

"Hm." He said, "In the meantime, you stay here then?"

"Exactly." I said with a nod, "I agree with you, we can't leave them to their devices. The Akatsuki could be a major threat. We have to take them quite seriously."

"Hm." He said, "I'd wager you'd want to be close to Naruko and her mother if it comes to be that serious?"

I nodded again, "Yes." I said, "I mean, they'd want a strong bodyguard to keep them safe."

"Hmm....." He said as he stood up, "If that's what you think."

He began to walk away and I called out after him, "Kakashi."

He stopped and looked at me, "What is it?"

"If it comes to it." I said, "I'll be the Leaf's weapon, you know. Whatever happens, I will be on the frontline."

"I don't understand why you would do that." He said, "To us, you're still a stranger."

"If you didn't trust me, I wouldn't be walking around so freely." I said with a slight smirk, "You know I am strong, that is why you trust me. If I were a threat to you lot, I would've done something by now."

"Yet, you haven't." He said, "I wonder why."

I wonder that as well. Well, I know the answer.

To have sex with this village's beauties, obviously. There is no point in being their enemy if I can't fuck them.

I chuckled, "When the time comes, I will show you what it means to be truly powerful." I said, "You'll see."

"Unfortunately, I am well aware of how strong you are." He said with a sigh, starting to walk away, "But stay confident, we might need that."

A few minutes after he left, I was still eating my dumplings. I had asked for the waitress to bring me another refill of my cola, which she did without issue.

I was eating the rest of my dumplings when I felt another presence next to me, which made no effort in hiding itself.

"Hm?" I said, looking to the side and seeing Tenten's smile, "Oh, hey."

She sat down next to me and cleared her throat, "A-Are you free today?" She asked, "I don't have much free time."

I slid my plate to her, "Dumplings?"

"Not hungry." She said, blushing, "You know what I want."

I chuckled, taking a sip of my cola, "Is that so?" I said with a smirk, "Well, I suppose I have time to spare."

"Sure, why not?"
