Chapter 43 - Chapter 43: First Move

—We are at war.

Ricardo placed his hands on the table and looked at everyone present.

—Move the shipments. All of them.

His voice was cold.

—If that clown wants to play with us… then we will play.

He paused.

His eyes grew harder.

—But in our way.

The lieutenants listened to Ricardo's words.

No one responded.

They all simply nodded.

Ricardo frowned.

—What are you waiting for?

He slammed his hand on the table.

—Move now!

Chairs shifted.

The men quickly stood up.

Loren, Stiven, and Mike were the first to rise.

Everyone began leaving the VIP area.

Within seconds the room was empty.

Ricardo watched them leave in silence.

When he was finally alone, he took out his phone.

He dialed a number.

—Hello.

A voice answered from the other side.

—Ricardo.

Ricardo leaned back in his chair.

—It seems the shipment I was going to send you will be delayed.

There was a short pause.

The voice on the other side spoke.

—Yes… I've seen the news.

—The warehouse attack.

—And the club incident.

Ricardo sighed.

—A small problem.

The other voice continued.

—Don't worry.

—Everything here in New York is calm.

—Just send another shipment when you can.

Then he added:

—Do you want help dealing with that clown?

Ricardo shook his head, even though the other person couldn't see him.

—That won't be necessary.

—Another organization wants to fight us.

—It's nothing to worry about.

There was a brief silence.

Then the voice replied.

—I understand.

—But if you need help… just call.

—We'll gladly assist you.

Ricardo smiled slightly.

—I'll keep that in mind.

He hung up the call.

---

I opened my eyes.

I got out of bed and stretched my arms.

—So lazy…

I went to the bathroom.

After a few minutes, I came out.

Without thinking too much, I used magic.

My body disappeared.

I teleported directly to Trenton.

I appeared on a quiet street in the city.

The lights from the buildings illuminated the night.

I put my hands in my pockets.

—Well…

—Now I'll have to see where those lieutenants are.

I began walking through the city.

—Tonight I'll finish one of them.

I smiled.

—I just have to decide…

—Which one will fall first.

---

At the same time…

Two FBI agents were also closely monitoring the organization's movements.

Reyes and Carter were investigating the case.

Ricardo was the leader of the organization.

He had connections with people in New York.

In reality, Ricardo was part of a larger organization in that city.

But the FBI didn't know that yet.

They had only discovered some connections.

Nothing more.

Carter was looking at a map covered with marks.

—Reyes… do you think two organizations are going to fight?

Reyes didn't answer immediately.

She just listened.

Carter continued.

—We're close to the state of New York.

—This could become a distribution problem.

—Control of routes.

Reyes crossed her arms.

—Possibly.

—But the problem is that these guys will fight.

She paused.

—I don't think it'll be daily shootouts.

—But we still need to be prepared.

Carter nodded.

—Yeah.

But for Reyes, that wasn't the real problem.

She was interested in something else.

The clown.

She had already investigated what happened at the bus stop in Sussex County.

And also the other incident in the neighboring county.

Two territories.

Two counties.

Reyes looked at the map.

—That means this clown moves between two counties.

Carter sighed.

—Do you think he controls both?

Reyes slowly shook her head.

—I don't know.

—But more agents were sent to those two counties.

—And they haven't found anything.

Carter muttered.

—That guy is like a ghost.

Reyes looked back at the map.

—Yes…

—But a very dangerous one.

---

Meanwhile…

I kept walking through the streets of Trenton.

I was searching for the lieutenants.

I knew what their faces looked like.

I just had to choose one.

I thought for a few seconds.

—I'll eliminate that guy… Stiven.

I think that was his name.

I shrugged.

—His name doesn't matter.

—Now I just have to wait.

---

Somewhere else in the city.

—Quick! Load the shipment!

Stiven was supervising his men.

Several crates were being loaded onto trucks.

Everything had to move quickly.

They couldn't risk the police or the DEA discovering them.

After a few minutes, the shipment was ready.

Stiven nodded.

—Good.

He walked toward his car.

Five of his most trusted men escorted him.

He got into the car.

The vehicles began to move.

Inside the car, Stiven was talking with his subordinates.

—We need to move this before dawn—

Suddenly…

The car stopped.

Stiven frowned.

—Why did you stop?

The driver didn't respond.

—Hey… I'm talking to you.

Stiven looked at the driver.

Then at the passenger.

Neither of them moved.

—Shit…

Then one of the men in the back seat spoke.

—Boss…

—Look…

He pointed toward the windshield.

Stiven raised his head.

And froze.

In the middle of the road…

There was a clown.

The clown was holding two human heads in his hands.

The heads of two of his subordinates.

The clown smiled.

—Hello.

He slightly lifted the heads like trophies.

—I think today you're the main show.

He tilted his head.

—What do you say we begin?
